I loved this place. It was a small hidden treasure in the Canisius College area. It may have been too tiny to sit and comfortably relax, but big personalities, big portions and the big hearts of the people who worked there made up for it. I'd get a slice of coconut cake larger than my head for $2 or so bucks, and they also offered these little single serve sweet potato pies and bean pies that you could just pop out of the tin and into your mouth. Their strawberry smoothie was pretty good, too. Tuesday nights they'd offer poetry night (no cover charge if I remember correctly, but they preferred you to buy food or drink) and I remember one poem where a woman talked about a "white bitch" that she was in conflict with. Expecting this to be another stereotypical "Angry Black Chick" poem, I wasn't expecting the twist at the end to be that the "white bitch" she was referring to was cocaine. Damn, what a way with words. The people who read poems were mostly talented folks, and I rarely remember any of them being bad enough to be pulled off the stage a la Showtime at the Apollo.

How was I born and raised in Buffalo and never been to this establishment?????? The food was really good!!!! I love the atmosphere. A neighborhood staple that I will frequent often.

Also an everything bagel with cream cheese, lots of cream cheese, warm and wrapped up well. More like a denser style bagel- not hard. Very good. I got chocolate in my Americano, the standard amount they put in was perfect. You can taste the chocolate and the coffee, not too sweet! Seating area is small and cute. Perfect for two people to sit and chat. Not good for a family or children. We did have our three year old and new born. We had never been here before and had already made our toddler wait to get a croissant so we had to make it work. If you know you know. But he is well behaved so it was fine. I would definitely stop here again if I didn't have kids with me or even to have a one on one date with my son.

I needed a change of scenery to get some work done and this place exceeded my expectations. Quaint with a tucked away sitting area that was perfect for my back to back meetings as they offered free Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets. Decor was bright and Instagramable. There's an equally cozy bookstore down the hall that adds value to the vibe along with a candle shop that did the same. Customer service was welcoming and prompt. I appreciate service with a smile. Secondly, I love a place where the staff can give suggestions when I give them an 'idea' of what I'd like to have and they deliver. Ordered a chai tea, with more chai than milk and their suggestion of a vanilla shot was delicious. Will definitely be back to explore the menu. 100% recommend.

If you are as adorably crumudgeonly on such matters, support local! The sisters that run Unapologetic Coffee are creating something special. My work schedule doesn't allow me to get there in person very much, but when it happens its worth it. I said what I said is a fine brew either hot or cold and I am sure Black Mixed with Black will class up my home brewer until I can pay my next visit. If you want a damn fine cup of coffee, latte, made with care and respect from some incredible people, swing by the Best Self building and pay them a visit. The sisters who run the place are creating something special. They have a passion and joy for building great drinks and it is worth the dollars to having something local, BETTER than the crappy chains. A great cup of coffee awaits, get you some.

It has a really unique taste that simply offers comfort and love in every sip. I've had it hot and iced, made by different baristas, and it slaps every time! I've also purchased their coffee grounds to make cold brew at home and it definitely gives me a good kickstart to my day! Don't be fooled by the buildings' exterior. Once you walk into the coffee shop on the lower level of the shared building space, you'll quickly realize it's a great spot to connect with friends, colleagues, or alone! Lots of space and a really nice community table as well. 10/10 would recommend you visit!
