I guess I slept on this gem. The food was absolutely delicious. The 534 Elmwood brisket sandwich was out of this world. The brisket melted in my mouth. It was all topped with heaps of jalapeño slaw, cheddar cheese, and some amazing tangy BBQ! We had it delivered, and the fish fry came hot and crispy! Large portion paired with perfectly cooked French fries salted to perfection. It came with macaroni salad, which wasn't my favorite, but it's a mustard base, and I'm not a fan of mustard. The steak was seasoned and so tender! Definitely can't wait to go back and try more!

Joe's is great lots of good menu items lots of things to try and all of it is very tasty! I love the casual style of the place order sit eat and go and it's very comfortable inside. Pricing was good as well. I really loved the potato salad incidentally it was delish with an awesome peppery goodness! We always love Joe's make sure you stop in and visit!

Joes still has the best chicken salad sandwiches or wraps in the town. Hands down! I'm sad they closed the maple location but I will gladly go here when I need one.

Worst sandwich ever. I ordered sliced turkey with apple and melted brie cheese on sourdough bread. I got dried up crumbles of turkey scraps that belonged in the trash, no cheese, 2 tiny apple slices and a bag containing 5 potato chips. I live too far away to return it to Hertel Ave. I'm in Lockport. I won't be back.

Conveniently located very close to the FLW Martin house near Delaware Park. Right on Hertel Ave. There's plenty to choose from. The Tuna Sandwich is some of the best I've ever had. The cuban is completely out of this world. Delicious. Very clean, bright, pedestrian oriented and lots of parking. Thry feature outdoor seating in the warm weather. We were served quickly. Prices are around 11 bucks for a sandwich. On my next return to Buffalo, I'll be back.

Joes is a nice local deli in a cute neighborhood (Hertel area). The hangover sandwich was delicious, highly recommend!

    Kind of lacking in avocado

The service is great, even if we were a little let down by the food. They have kids meals that are a good value at $5.50 for an entree and choice of two sides (or a drink and a side or two drinks.) My son ordered chicken nuggets. They are definitely made with the child nugget connoisseur in mind - if that child favors McDonald's nuggets, and of course I came in with the one child who doesn't. Plus you could tell it was fried in the same oil as the fish which didn't bother me, but did bother him. The actual chicken was very juicy and better quality than McDonald's. The batter just appears similar. I had a sweet turkey sandwich sans sweet potato fries by request. Part of why I've been wanting to try Joe's Deli is because they make some sandwiches with avocado. Sadly, mine seemed almost as low on the coveted avocado as the sweet potato fries. It came with homemade potato chips, of which my finicky son was a fan. The deli is cute with some indoor seating as well as outdoor. I wish there was a little more shade in front. To be honest, I'd probably try the fish fry if I stop in again. If the batter is similar to the chicken, I bet it's amazing.

Finally decided to try out the eats in my new neighborhood & marched out on a rainy day to grab Joes for lunch. I was torn between the special & the Body but went with the Body. It definitely has a kick, the pickled veggies were an interesting twist, just next time I'd add some cheese. Prob my bad on ordering but I got lays instead of the house chips, assuming I was getting the house chips. It was a sandwich full of toppings for the price. Tried out the Lazy Lasagna soup as well, warmed me up on a dreary day. I'll definitely be back & love the variety of creative sandwiches.

Getting there just after 1PM on a Monday there was a line inside, to the door to place orders... the wait afterwards was about 10 minutes. I love bologna sandwiches and I also really enjoy a nice beef on Weck, so I was happy they offered a mini beef sandwich, still on kummelweck, which I got along with their bologna sandwich with provolone, onions, and peppers on it. The bologna sandwich was flame grilled and tasted excellent! I added jalapeños to it for a little kick, as well as some mayo and that made the sandwich really tasty! I started with their split pea soup - It was really good! It had big chunks of smokey, flavorful ham in it and the texture was thick and the flavor was great! I also tried a side of their mustard potato salad and it was decent, but I think it had pimentos or pickles in it, which I don't prefer. Last up - That mini beef sandwich - AWESOME! The bun really added the excellent flavor you'd expect from having the meat on that type of roll. The beef was tender and so flavorful! They also have horseradish on the tables, so I added a bunch of it and that really made the flavor pop! Service was excellent and very friendly here. I'd highly recommend stopping in!

The hand carved beef was tender, juicy, and piled high on a perfectly salted kummelweck roll. Add a little horseradish and au jus, and it's easily one of the best sandwiches in the area. The crispy waffle fries were the perfect side--golden, crunchy, and seasoned just right. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Between the quality of the food, the spotless dining area, and the old-school charm, this place absolutely earns five stars. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.
