Another local diner that is worth going to! Friendly staff and family feel diner that serves up a really nice breakfast. We stopped here because a place we were going to was unexpectedly closed...lucky us. I ordered a special, which was peach waffles. I never know if I'm going to get canned fruit or not, but these were a large amount of tasty fresh peaches beautifully arranged on top of a tasty waffle. I liked their coffee as well! I didn't get her name, but the server running the show last night earned my service from the moment I stepped inside. She greeted me and said I could sit wherever I'd like. I asked if I could get a to-go order & she said sure. After clarifying that the daily special was a tuna melt (not a turkey melt like the board said), I opted for a turkey club with extra crispy fries & mayo for dipping. Good things come to those who wait & the whole inside of this place is decorated for entertainment. You know those kitschy signs that you see in a country store that say something like, "I only have a kitchen cuz it came with the house"? The walls were LOADED with these clever signs. I didn't have to wait too long and everything was fresh & tasty. There was plenty of turkey on the 4 sandwich pieces, and the fries were extra crispy, as ordered. The only thing I could nitpick (if I really wanted to be mean) was the mayo... I probably could have used 2 cups instead of 1. I've been to Kaboodles countless times over the years. It is a cafe/diner, and was my favorite place to take my Gram & Mom for breakfasts for many many years, which is where Kaboodles excels. On this day, I went for a rare non-breakfast, as my Dad & I went for salads for our dinner (day before we went all in on wings :-) We heard from a friend that they make good salads and they didn't disappoint. They had 4-5 to choose from and I got the Greek, and my Dad got their Cobb. The salads were $14-15 without adding chicken or beef. Portions were ok, but not huge (I expected a bit bigger) considering that their breakfasts are always good sized. In summary, they're great at breakfast (which they serve all day!), and pretty good for lunch/dinner options. read more

We found this diner after dropping our son and his friends off at Darien lake. We sat ourselves. There's cute signs throughout to read and most are funny. I ordered coffee and the monster omelet, which came with hash browns and toast. My husband ordered Pepsi, a Belgian waffle, and the farmers' breakfast. We both thought our food was very tasty. I was not pleased with the service whatsoever. The vibe we received was more like, "Why are you here." She didn't offer to top off my coffee or ask if I wanted more. She checked on us when we were just about finished with our food. I asked for a water, because at this point there was no sense having more coffee.  She seemed very tired, as if she just didn't want to be there. Another girl brought us a box to go. Yet another diner for breakfast , this one was in Akron, NY and easy to find . I wish the menu was bigger and they had some cool specials . However , what they did offer was of really good quality . We LOVE this place ! Even when they're very busy they won't keep you waiting and the food remains good quality and done right. It's a little unassuming place without a paved parking lot sitting alone with no other businesses close by. No flashy sign and honestly you could drive right by and never notice it. This is your basic diner. I ordered the breakfast that included 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and your choice of meat. I chose bacon. It was good. Nothing special or our of the ordinary. I liked it because I didn't have to make it. The coffee was also good. The service was ok, but I want to cut them some slack because all the tables were manned by two hardworking servers. While in Akron, we stopped at a small roadside cafe with a big personality. If you like quirky hidden gems, this place is for you. Kym, our waitress, super service, sense of humor and a great smile. Three of us, each ordered something different. Each dish we were served was phenomenal. My massive Cheeseburger was hefty divine bovine. Perfectly charred and dressed with pickles that tasted homemade. Buns were Constanzo's ('nough said). My sister dove into her Mushroom & Swiss burger so I failed to get a photograph of it. Her husband demolished his Beef on Weck post haste. Mutual consensus, Kaboodles is worth repeat visits, for breakfast and dinner exploration, of course. This was exactly what we were looking after a long day and night at Darien Lake. Totally worth the extra 10min drive. Fantastic classic diner menu and yes, breakfast all day!! Usually busy but we prefer to sit at the bar, the service is quick the food is plenty and the prices reasonable. I'm a huge fan of Kaboodles Kafe. And if they change their name again, but keep the same food and staff, I'll still be a huge fan. (You'll understand what I mean by that if you check out the sign near their front door.) My mom and I like to meet up with my uncle for brunch sometimes after church. This is a great halfway point for us, so this is why we've chosen this place so much. But honestly, if the food was awful or the service were bad, we'd just drive all the way into Batavia and go elsewhere. And if my uncle wanted to stop meeting up with us or moved to Nebraska or something, my mom and I would go anyway. And if my mom decided she no longer enjoys great food, I would go without her. Admittedly, this isn't the best location if you're looking for a place to eat. But once you've been, you'll want to go back again and again, and the location won't matter a lick! The menu offers up all the standard diner-type fare. I have been a handful of times and I think I've ordered the same thing every time: two eggs over medium, rye toast, and bacon. Hey, when you know what you like, you know what you like. Every time the eggs have been cooked perfectly, and the service always comes with a smile. During my last visit, we met up with my uncle and his "lady friend" (when you're in your seventies I guess nobody calls it girlfriend/boyfriend anymore), my cousin and his wife, and my cousin's mom (who is also my cousin, of course). My mom, my son, and I were also there. So yeah, there were eight of us in all. We called ahead for a seat (that was smart on our part because they were quite busy!) and they had it ready for us as soon as we arrived. Our orders were all correct, and everything came out at the same time. Impressive! Our glasses were never empty. Our server was very fun and joked with us. And she never once made us feel like we had to hurry up and leave to free up the tables. We hadn't seen my cousin's family in several years, so it was really like a family reunion. We appreciated not being rushed (and I made sure to show my appreciation with a very large tip because c'mon, it's just common courtesy if you're going to overstay your welcome, you make it up to the server who is losing out on more paying customers). When we got up to leave, we all agreed it was great food, and my cousin and wife who had never been there before both said they will be going back again (this was their first time). I decided then that if I come across anyone else who's never tried Kaboodles, we're going to have to meet out there for brunch. Tip: Don't be upset if you have to wait a little bit to be seated. I live in Akron and have always thought of stopping in for a cup of coffee. Today my son treated me to lunch and I said I'd like to check out Kaboodles. OMG what a really nice place it is. The waitresses were on top of everything. We didn't wait long for our meals. I had a steak Souvlaki and wow they do not scrimp on anything. They had a very nice selection of food. The place was clean and I really enjoyed the plaques on the walls. Of course I couldn't eat all of my food and was given a carton so I could take it home with me. I didn't even have to ask they offered. They probably don't know it but they now have a new regular. If you haven't tried Kaboodles Kafe I suggest you do. My friend was like, "would you like me to get you a replica Liverpool shirt for your bday, or do you want the whole kit? And where would you like your bday dinner to be at?" My answer was simple: "The Whole Kit, & Kaboodle's." Ba dum tsh. Kaboodles is adorable, with adorable signs on the walls, and adorable food. The opening hours are not as adorable, but that can't be helped because business can be scarce out here, and Mary's Good & Plenty (which is not as good) is right in the middle of "downtown" Akron and gets more local business, even though this place has better food and much better service. My favourite is the sign that tells you all the names that the cafe had before, each one has been crossed off the list like jilted lovers and ex-wifeys/hubbys tattooed on an arm. Very innovativistical. I usually get the country fried steak and it's excellent. I'll try more things on the menu when I get round to it, but let's just say that if you're in the market for a country diner in this part of the world, this one is well worth a trip. read more
