I went to see a Broadway show with Jan and my friend Eva from Manhattan (she goes to every Broadway show and then reviews them on Yelp), and we sat on the balcony. Repeat. Jan Sat On The Balcony. Which is what this restaurant is named after. This is a temporary review. I have yet to try their food. I went there and they were very busy so I didn't order, but the place is absolutely full of clouds and clouds and clouds of smoke. It was literally like walking into a smoke hut! I was in there for 20 seconds and I smelled like it for an hour or two afterwards. I will still try their food at some point soon, since I will be going here plenty due to the gas prices nearby. About 40 cents cheaper than in Buffalo and 25 cents cheaper than at the I-90/Route 77 truck stops in Corfu. Still, I do want to protest against the insane amount of toxic smoke inside here, so my 2/5 is my protest. I'll leave it up until I get to try the food in the next month or two, and then I'll adjust my rating to reflect how good the food is. It might take me until Feb to try it. We have been stopping here for years to grab a bite and this evening, once again, the food was excellent. Pricing = great Cash only Service= Very Good Hours= Very close to traditional meal times (no late hours) Tonight I ordered a Roast beef sandwich and real french fries swimming in gravy. My son had this usual, chicken fingers with french fries and gravy and his friend ordered a fruit plate piled high with melons, pineapple, tangerine and out off cottage cheese, a bowl of applesauce. That was the largest fruit plate I ever saw served. Usually other places give you a dessert plate. Tonight they were packed but moved people quickly enough no one was turned away or left standing and waiting. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their name means "You come eat now." They sure feed you. Total bill $22.00. Excellent for a Friday night dinner. read more

Have been going for years just on Friday nite for the fish fry ! Always excellent -Fresh grease, great batter, large piece or two of fish and served with fries, bread, coleslaw , and Mac Salad. The Mac salad is awesome-not canned crap. Fresh mayo and icy cold ! I refuse to complain about the smoke cuz at least there is someplace left to sit and enjoy one after dinner. You should know that going in and adjust yourself. And-you can always order takeout !! read more

My husband and I enjoy coming to the reservation especially the burgers at Big Bear!!! Tonight I was going to to take a picture and write a review but they were closed! Oh well not a problem lets just try another place? Ok, no problem. We spotted Jan's on Yelp and decided to try it. We had our five year old with us and the place wreaked of smoke. Needless to say, we were still going to try it. Unlike Big Bear there was no friendly greeting. Only a few people were there but Jan NEVERRRR stopped talking never told us to have a seat. Finally my husband and I just sat down at a booth. We sat there for at least 3 minutes before Jan came over. She brought menus but was still not very welcoming. My husband ordered a soda and I ordered one for my daughter. The menu seemed ok a lot to choose from regular diner fare. When Jan came back, I asked her about the barbecue sauce for the wings and she rudely replied, "I don't know I mean it's barbecue sauce I don't know the brand name!!" I almost lost it!!!! How rude!!!! What do you mean you don't know how it taste or the name of it!!! Your name is on the restaurant!!! I've been to many restaurants and I've never been treated so poorly. I cancelled the order at that point!!! Offered to pay for drinks she rudely said, "No"! My husband paid anyway! If I could give less than one star I would. I'm glad she has her locals because she's definitely not getting new customers with that customer service. read more
