We came for Sunday brunch with a party.....and we will not be back!! First time trying brunch at Alton's Restaurant on Transit Rd. $19/pp for brunch. Was really let down by cleanliness, service, and food offerings. 75-80% of this breakfast buffet is carbohydrates!!! Food offerings included.....Frozen bag hash browns, pancakes, biscuits, french toast, bread slices, cereal, muffins, danishes. LOTS & LOTS of carbohydrate options to fill up the guests strategically so it doesn't cost the restaurant much to put on the buffet. - NO BAGELS - NO WAFFLES - NO FLAVORED SYRUPS (for pancakes) - Blueberry? Strawberry? - NO FRESH STRAWBERRIES - NO WHIPPED CREAM - NO SALAD BAR - NO SEAFOOD (ie. shrimp, salmon) - NO FRESH WHOLE FRUIT (BANANAS), etc. - NO DESSERT TABLE - NO MIMOSAS OR BREAKFAST COCKTAILS The protein they offered was very limited: Flat frozen sausage patties, sausage gravy (to go with the biscuits) however it did not have a lot of sausage in it, bacon slices, and some ham lunch meat slices cut in halves, scrambled egg, pre-fryed fried eggs. They also had cut up fruit and rice pudding. I thought being that this was Alton's (and they are known for Greek food) that they might've had a salad bar or even some Greek marinated chicken that they were offering on a warming station? Nope. Overall, our entire family's experience and perception of Alton's Brunch was pushing it to describe it as mediocre. The breakfast buffet was extremely limited in the food offering section not to mention there were flies flying around all of the food at the buffet table (inside the building)-GROSS!! Service was not attentive/severely lacking. We were waiting a long time for a waitress to even initially come to our table to offer drinks when we first arrived. Will not be returning. I think just seeing the flies flying around the food totally turned me off. Head to the ROYCROFT in East Aurora - it's a lot nicer, cleaner, service is top notch and it is ABSOLUTELY worth the higher price point! read more

Alton's has been our favorite "go to" spot for many years now. The amazing service we receive from their wait staff is above reproach. But we have noticed a definite change in the menu items, and no doubt it is an attempt to rescue the business' bottom line. The menu it self has shrunk considerably in recent months. Today I ordered the roast beef melt on sourdough sandwich. What I got was roast beef deli slices slathered in melted cheese and grilled sourdough. It wasn't that long ago when you ordered roast beef, you got something that was hand carved roast beef. I will be thinking twice about visiting Alton's in the future. read more

Stopped here for lunch. For a Monday, it seemed busy, which is a good thing , it was not loud enough though they were that busy. Our food came out fast. The Brunch burger was overwhelming for my boyfriend but otherwise good. He loved the Canadian bacon. The fries were decent. My turkey club with bacon was quite a sandwich and I was able to upgrade to onion rings, which were outstanding ( half of the sandwich went home for a snack for later ) . They also have real coffee drinks, so I was able to get a cappuccino! Yay! The show stopper was the orange Greek cake. So moist and delicious! Saturday morning about10:30am. Had a short wait which is usual as I frequent this establishment at least twice a month. Hostess is very amiable directed us to our table. The waitress was very cheerful and right there with a huge smile. Brought us our coffee and we were ready to order. All breakfast items are delicious and large portions. Mom had a Belgian waffle. The look on her face when it arrived was all you needed to know that breakfast was going to be awesome. Prices are very reasonable, portions are big, and service is outstanding! read more

Our review is for the Sunday brunch. It was great with a great spread and availability of foods for only 18.99 for adults. That's hard to beat! We ate plenty and were good for the day for a great value haha. Our waitress was very sweet and visited us a lot. The brunch buffet includes tea coffee and a variety of juices along with it so you get a savings there too. There's tons of parking and tables since the open up the back events area but it can be really busy when a church let's out or a large group shows up so be aware of that. read more

With fast and friendly service I got the vegetarian Omlette. It had mushroom,peppers, onions,tomatoes, spinach and cheese and included choice of toast and home fries, it was very good.Dessert was their rice pudding which was smooth and delicious. Gathered with 3 friends; we hadn't seen each other in some time. We weren't in the main dining area, which worked very well for us. It was quieter, and we had more privacy. We stayed for hours! no rush on the part of the waitress, who actually went off duty before we left. We were assured our tip for her would be put in an envelope and held for her. I ordered beef, which i almost never eat, from the senior menu: 8oz. charbroiled angus strip steak, served with vegetable and choice of potato $16.99. steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare), veggie was green beans (fresh and nicely seasoned) and of the many potato selections, roasted red potatoes. Great diner with a Greek flair. I loved my gyro wrap - it was quite big and served with lots of fries. Had the dill sauce on the side for dipping. Yum! It was sweet of the server to have the cooks split the sampler platter evenly on two plates so that my daughter and her friend could have their own portion. Looking forward to coming back to try some more Greek dishes. FYI - there's plenty of parking and a nice area to sit to wait for a table if it's during a meal time rush. read more

It was my first time coming here, the staff is great and the food wasn't bad. The staff and other customers are fantastic, I'm in a wheelchair and the one bathroom I couldn't fit and but some of the customers pointed out a bigger bathroom and staff helped me with doors. read more

My wife and I have been going to Alton's for more than 30 years. First on Walden Ave and for the last 20 yrs, to the Elma, Transit Rd location. For a moment I thought I could not have been more disappointed in the food that I was served. I was so wrong! I am even more disappointed in the response from the "Shift Supervisor" (after I requested to speak with the manager). "The owner is buying the smaller chicken that is more tender" I agree the smaller chicken breast pieces are very tender when you are served those. As you can see what I was served LITERALLY should have never left the kitchen and if I was the"Shift Supervisor" called to handle this matter I would have assured the customer that this was not acceptable and would address the matter with the kitchen and wait staff! AND in my day the meal would have been comped also. Sorry, not sorry at all, just dating myself. As I sat there trying to maintain at least a minimum of my composure. I yet again stated that the chicken in my salad was unacceptable. She offered to have more chicken delivered as drolly as possible, implying that you have no clue how many of the rubes o.Ops our costumers would accept what I was served! Food has no taste and nothing exciting to eat I have been here multiple times and always swear that I will never come back

Food was terrible ordered a steak medium came out burnt sent it back came out 20 minutes later everyone's done eating. I was still waiting for my food and the steak was overcooked again told the manager said he couldn't do anything about it. The owner was in the kitchen. He'd be out in a few minutes. 10 minutes later no owner full charge for the meal and terrible service. If that's how you treat senior citizens I could imagine how you treat everyone else highly don't recommend this place they do volume and quality doesn't matter. Just get the people in and get them out. That's all they care about. I guess they own another restaurant I've heard the same thing about it. I actually went to a banquet at one of the other ones and it was terrible also one star rating if that. read more

I went to Altons for breakfast today with my friend Joe. I had the Altons special breakfast and it was great. As far as I'm concerned Altons is always spot on no matter what I order. The cleanliness of the restaurant to the food and even the price point. Also the service is fast , friendly and professional, Michelle waited on this morning and she as always does a fantastic job. I had the chicken souvlaki. The nicely seasoned chicken strips were accompanied by a Greek salad and a piece of pita. There was also a small side container with a dipping dill sauce. There was a very generous amount of chicken. I would have liked a bit more of the dill sauce as put some on my salad and some on the chicken strips. Our waitress was very attentive, without being overbearing. This is a family restaurant. There are a lot of rooms so the noise level is not obnoxious as could be the case with a wide open room for nearly everyone. read more

This is definitely the better option of the 2 Alton's restaurants. This space is much bigger and I think the service is better too. Today I went for a classic open beef souvlaki. Everything was absolutely delicious and I wouldn't change a thing. The beef was tender and cooked perfectly! Very nicely done. We also decided to try the gyro to see if the beef tasted differently. The gyro tasted more like Italian sausage or something more seasoned. The gyro was in a quesadilla which was good with all of the flavors but I preferred the beef souvlaki over everything. Pulled into their very full parking lot today and honestly expected service to be slow simply because of the amount of customers. Well was I wrong! Server came over right after we were seated and took our drink orders 2 coffees and a raspberry tea. Then took our food orders once those were delivered. Both my friends ordered the spinach and feta omelet. I actually was going to get the same but then decided to try something different, the breakfast melt. It included scrambled eggs, cheese, turkey, and bacon on a nicely toasted sandwich. My home fries were a bit disappointing. They were dry and very bland. Could definitely have used maybe some salt and pepper and perhaps onions. The sandwich made up for it though. Very tasty. Both friends seemed to enjoy their omelets. Best of all was the service. I'm definitely a breakfast person, but most days I don't enjoy waking up early and getting breakfast between the designated times most restaurants serve it at. So, I guess I'm just a brunch person. My friend and I met at Alton's around 11am on a Sunday. The parking lot was completely full and I pulled in at the right time and secured a spot. While waiting in my car, I watched some people fight over a parking spot. I walked into Alton's to give them my name and there were people everywhere. They were seating people pretty quickly, though. I know many COVID restrictions were lifted, but I am still wearing a mask and trying to social distance. I have been trying to social distance all of my life, though. They do have separators between the booths, which was nice. We were seated after about waiting 20 minutes, which wasn't bad. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. I wish I got her name, but I wasn't on my "A" game apparently. I ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and sour dough. I asked for orange marmalade jelly because the container of jelly is no longer at the table. My meal was delicious, as usual. I rarely divert from the corned beef hash when I go out for breakfast. My friend enjoyed her omelet. Apparently her and I are both creatures of habit and we always get the same thing even though we need some more time to look over the menu. We like options, but we also like the comfort of knowing what we want and like. I missed drinking cups and cups of of coffee out, and had my fill at Alton's. read more

They have a modest alcohol selection and we ordered glasses of wine which were served promptly. I ordered a gyro salad and it was large and fresh. Their gyro contains only beef. Also had a slice of coconut creme pie which was tasty. Some of the ten tables on the patio were closer than the six feet required. They were all eventually occupied. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they have an ample selection of appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees that'll make everyone in your party happy. My boyfriend and I have gone here for breakfast many times and we've never experienced more than a 10 minute wait, a rarity for the weekend brunch hours. I always get their eggs and toast because it fills me up and is so delicious! My pro tip is to order their chicken souvlaki wrap when you get a chance. Everything about it is amazing. Yummy spur of the moment breakfast stop. I can't remember the last tim I was there but during covid times, I found visit to be great. They have an outdoor patio in addition to several inside dining rooms. We opted for inside, no wait. Menus dropped. Drinks served quickly and kept coming. Delicious fresh coffee. They had just the breakfast I was craving. Scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage patties, homefries with onion and well done rye toast. Ahhhh yum! It would have been a fiver if the server would have given us the choice of touchless menus. We weren't informed and just happened to notice after the fact the table tent advertising the scan code for it. That was frustrating. My friend took her two cousins to the Alton's in Cheektowaga for breakfast. When she paid the bill , she gave a young 21 year old 100.00 bill and the bill was 50.48. She had no change so she gave her a 1.00 bill so she can get an even 50.00 bill back. The girl lied and said she only gave her a 50.00 bill. She's told the managers and they ignored her calls. Her cousin was right next to her and knew she had given the young lady 100.00 bill. I told her to call Al Vaughters and have them check the cameras. How dare they take advantage of a retired women...
