Double order of chicken wings
Norma P.

Stopped at the Alabama Hotel for dinner. I decided to get the chicken wings which were delicious. They were served with an ample amount of carrots and celery...would definitely get again on my next visit!!! A return visit is in the future. I did not get the salad bar but took pictures...it looked really good !!

The Alabama Hotel was an awesome surprise. I thought it would be a sketchy dive bar but it was a great sit down restaurant with fresh seafood and better prime rib than the red osier! The prime rib special for two on Thursdays is an amazing deal at $44 for two giant cuts of prime rib and a side. The salt potatoes were good too. I wasn't aware they get their seafood flown in fresh but I saw on facebook that they do. Great service, great prices. The salad bar thing is a little weird though and feels like pizza hut--unnecessary.

Stuffed hot peppers

The place is always packed with locals. Restaurant and bar with a separate door for each. If you just going to the restaurant, enter through the middle door. We went on prime rib night (Thursday) for two $44 I guess comes with salad bar. We ordered the stuff peppers for a appetizer which was a special and they were perfect. Sausage and cheese filled. I got a cheese burger and my husband got the fish sandwich. Both came with fries and a pickle. The waitress didn't ask how I wanted my burger cooked but it came out perfect. We also stayed for dessert. I had chocolate pie and my husband had banana cake. They also had Glenora Niagara wine which is a local wine I don't see often. Very happy to see. Why I waited to come here escapes me. But food and service are perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Fish Fry (Haddock) To-go: Came with fries, coleslaw, mac salad, a dinner roll w/butter, and a lemon slice and tartar sauce for the fish fry!

It's funny, I grew up about 10 minutes away from The Alabama Hotel but I have never had a meal, or a drink, from there. That all changed when my family picked up a few fish fry meals, to keep in-line with the Friday Fish Fry craze in WNY, and I was very impressed! On a Friday around 5pm, my mom and her friend ordered three fish fry meals for pick-up. Now I wasn't with them when they picked up the meals, but from what they told me, the experience was pretty seamless, even with how bustling the place was. They didn't have to wait long at all to pay out and get the meals and go. They told me there wasn't an empty table to be found! On to the fish fry itself - It came with a HUGE beer-batter fried Haddock (with a cup of tartar sauce and a lemon slice to squeeze), TONs of fries, a little cup of coleslaw, a little cup of cheesy macaroni salad, and a dinner roll with butter. I was absolutely impressed with how much food I received, but the box it came in gave me a pretty good idea. The fish was fried perfectly - not greasy at all, easy to cut with a fork, and not too "fishy" tasting, but that's most likely due to the fish being Haddock, which typically doesn't taste as "fishy" as others I've had. The coleslaw was excellent, the right level of moistness with a slight vinegar-y flavor but not overwhelming at all. The macaroni salad was excellent too, I was surprised by the cheesy flavor it had, I wasn't expecting it but very much welcomed that. The fries were very good. By the time we were able to sit down and eat our meals though, which was about 40 minutes later, the fries had cooled off and when I finally got around to eating them, they were cold, but that was not a fault of the restaurant at all. As I mentioned at the start, the size of the fish fry and the number of sides was more than generous. All of us walked away plenty full and happy - I, of course, was able to finish mine but my mom and her friend could not. I'm really glad to finally have tried food from The Alabama Hotel! The take-out experience was pretty seamless and the food quality and portions were great. I'd very much like to actually sit inside and grab a meal there, so maybe 2022 will be the year. :)

Mmmm the prime rib

Fabolous prime rib, the best New England clam chowder i ever had. Missing the salad bar but the bowl the table gets is enough for many people. Can't get any better then the Alabama hotel!

Christmas Eve 2022 in Hotel Alabama.

Christmas Eve 2022 in Hotel Alabama. About more than 100 people were stuck here because of the storm. Joe, the owner and the neighbors had us here, treated the free meals, hot drinks and blankets, air beds, even Christmas gifts to kids. I and my 10 year old son with our dog were part of them, who really appreciated Joe's kindness and generous. It made us a very memorable Christmas Eve. Thanks, Joe ! And special thank to the Mom who volunteered with her one month baby. It almost made me tears down. I wrote an article and posted those pictures on WeChat E-Magazine. More than three thousands Chinese people have read it and even goes more. I hope everyone who read that can say hi to Joe when they take vacation in Niagara Falls. He deserves that!

Hotel Alabama isn't much but should you find yourself stuck in the Town of Alabama, New York, it's about the best you'll be able to find. I generally stop here in the afternoons, after a morning of goose hunting and while killing time waiting for the returning evening flight of geese; having a few drinks and exchanging hunting stories with the rest of the patrons. Dress is generally camouflage with baseball cap.

The server attended to us immediately. She was kind and took good care of us. She really did. I hate being asked repeatedly how I like my food, or do I need anything, or the worst "are you still working on it" or "do you need a box" when I'm in the middle of my meal. It could be very distracting. Audriana was great! She was at our table exactly when we needed her and not more or less. I had a wonderful time gazing out the window (super clean by the way), and enjoying the beautiful, peaceful view. It felt romantic, even with the air conditioning on right next to me. The food? It could have been much better if the kitchen had paid more attention to detail. The French Onion Soup, for example, was tasty, but only slightly warm. Also, the fries and Cheese Curds appetizer were too salty. We call it 'restaurant salty'. To some, it could taste perfectly fine. My Falls Chicken Sandwich was really delectable, but its name was a little bit misleading. I was expecting something to stand out from a regular chicken sandwich:). The Reuben sandwich was buttery and more buttery and "it tasted as good as it looked", that's what I was told. Still, the rye bread was too heavily buttered. The Burgers and Jack Daniel's Chicken looked very palatable. Maybe next time:)

Service from the bartender was great. He offered up some suggestions, which I needed because they have a large menu loaded with so many appetizing and amazing looking options. I started with their potstickers... They came out with a hard, fried shell and the dipping sauce went nicely with them. Enough to share, or even enough to enjoy and still have room for an entrée. My main dish was their Chicken & Waffle. This isn't some ordinary chicken and waffle, it's definitely an amped up version, made with unique and interesting ingredients, culminating in great flavors! The chicken was so large and very tender - it was amazing! The bacon and sauce on top went with it nicely, and the chive waffle was great with it! Each bite was definitely amazing! This was a great experience, I can see why they have so many reviews and such high stars, those are well-deserved stars!! Definitely recommend stopping in here!

The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, which made it even more enjoyable. I ordered fried calamari along with single chicken wings tossed in an Asian sweet and spicy sauce--both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The combination of crispy textures and bold flavors really stood out. What made the experience even better was the service. Our server was amazing--attentive, friendly, and truly great at her job. She made us feel welcome from the start. I always enjoy trying new places, and this visit did not disappoint. If you're looking for an American restaurant near Niagara Falls, this is definitely worth trying. We ended the meal with a delicious dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish to a great experience.

Three of us had made reservations for 6pm on a Thursday and when we arrived, there were zero issues. Parking for Harvest is primarily street parking but there are smaller parking lots nearby. The interior comes across fancy, modern, with nice views of Main St. and as you walk in to the dining room, the open-kitchen to our left and a warmly lit, nicely stocked bar to our right. We were seated at a table towards the middle of the dining room. At 6pm, most tables were empty but when we were leaving there were a good amount of people at both the bar and seated in the dining room, so it seems like people tend to come for a later meal. Our waitress came over and poured us waters and provided drink and food menus. This was a first for me - the menus lit up! Our waitress though was incredibly courteous and personable, she did a fantastic job checking on us. To kick the evening off, I ordered their Honey Hibiscus cocktail, which is mezcal, Grand Marnier, hibiscus, ginger, honey, cinnamon, lime, and fee foam. This was a nicely balanced cocktail with a more floral, fruity flavor. With the open kitchen concept, it was neat to see the chef and cooks working on our meals as we relaxed, talked, and munched on some warmed focaccia-like bread with a freshly made balsamic, olive oil, herb dip. The bread was so soft with the perfect amount of chew on the crust/exterior, and served warm. For dinner, I ordered Pappardelle Mornay and added (perfectly grilled) chicken breast for a few more dollars, which is simply pappardelle pasta in a creamy cheese mornay. Our waitress crushed some black pepper atop my dish before I started in. This was excellent - The pasta itself tasted so fresh, the cheese mornay was indeed very creamy, and the grilled chicken breast was cooked, seasoned, cut, and portioned perfectly. I am really glad I added the chicken breast to this dish as I'm not sure the pasta itself would've filled me up. I'd definitely order this again! To wrap up our meal, since it was Thursday, there's a "1/2 off Nightcaps" special, so each of us enjoyed a cold foam espresso martini afterward, which is coffee-infused vodka, Nue vodka, FAIR Café liqueur, dark crème de cacao, Steamworks espresso, chocolate bitters, vanilla syrup, and topped with an infused cold foam, which we went with the Frangelico Hazelnut cold foam, and a few espresso beans. This was ridiculously rich and delish! Harvest is an intimate, elevated dining experience, designed to have you stay a while, relax, and enjoy a more personal meal. All of us really enjoyed our evening here and have nothing but high praise for the staff and quality food. This isn't a fast, casual, cheap sit-down meal, but it's an experience worth the higher price. I look forward to coming back!

The live piano music was a nice touch, though we all agreed a tad loud to support dinner conversation. We didn't order dessert, but I saw some others getting delivered, and they looked delicious. Service was excellent. We'll be back!

When we walked in, another customer was raving about the food and telling us how much we'd enjoy it, which honestly made me feel a lot better about trying somewhere new in an unfamiliar area. The vibe is like a bar turned restaurant, dark and a little moody but not off-putting. My mom even got a cutesy leprechaun margarita, which made her smile. We started with 10 mild wings for the table, my sister got a Caesar salad and said the dressing tasted homemade, and this is where I tried French onion soup for the first time. It was okay, just really salty. My mom ended up finishing it, but I did like that the cheese layer wasn't too heavy. I'm still on the hunt for a French onion that really does it for me. I didn't get pictures of the mains, but my mom and I both got steak, I had mashed potatoes and she got a baked potato. My sister got the fettuccine alfredo and marveled at the flavor. She kept saying you can tell it's a local spot and not a chain just by the care put into it. My steak was good, nothing crazy but you really can't go wrong. The mashed potatoes were a little bland but still edible. My mom loved her meal and finished everything, while my sister and I both had leftovers. The only downside was the service. Our waitress wasn't very friendly, kind of impatient and a little passive aggressive, like we were bothering her just by being there. Given the lack of diversity in the area, it didn't completely surprise me, but it was still noticeable. We didn't let it ruin the night though. Overall we still enjoyed it and I'd go back if I'm ever in Batavia again. Reasonable prices, solid food. Taking everything into account, I'd give it a 6.9/10.

He was a professional restaurateur who was paid to sit with celebrities at the posh places he worked in South Florida in the 70s. Whatever else is said, the man had high standards in food and dining experience. When he opened, and for years after the place was always packed and very popular. The food was high quality and your meal came with 2 sides, salad, hot bread and nice presentation at a reasonable price. Alex left the business several years ago and the current owner has run it for some time. Today was my first time back in several years. The outside looks dated and needs a refresh. I almost thought it was closed. It was 2:30pm on Saturday before Mother's Day and almost empty. I don't recall it ever not being full of people waiting at the bar for a table. Until today. The decor is ok although I don't care for the fringe lamps directly over your head. I was going to get ribs but decided on 10 oz prime rib ($32.00) comes with 1 side (I chose baked potato - only sour cream and butter is offered). No salad unless you pay extra! The warm bread was fine with two kinds of butter. My companion had the Kids spaghetti $(8.99). My prime rib came out and it looked about half the normal thickness it should be and in a puddle of juice. Even the server commented about why the kitchen did that. And it was warm, at best. No horseradish or other condiments were offered. No garnish on the plate. Just a thin slab of meat. The juice should have been in a separate cup. But the small baked potato was steaming hot! My companion had a giant pile of spaghetti with about a 1/4 cup of sauce on top! Too little for the mound of spaghetti. And it looked like cheap jar sauce and no meatballs. She didn't mind but I wasn't thrilled. And her fountain drink did not come with the meal ($3.99)! I had a lavender lemon drop martini that was ok. ($10). Ultimately the food is mediocre and it feels like they are cutting corners to keep prices down. But that means it's no longer the special place it used to be. Sad.
