Double order of chicken wings
Norma P.

Stopped at the Alabama Hotel for dinner. I decided to get the chicken wings which were delicious. They were served with an ample amount of carrots and celery...would definitely get again on my next visit!!! A return visit is in the future. I did not get the salad bar but took pictures...it looked really good !!

The Alabama Hotel was an awesome surprise. I thought it would be a sketchy dive bar but it was a great sit down restaurant with fresh seafood and better prime rib than the red osier! The prime rib special for two on Thursdays is an amazing deal at $44 for two giant cuts of prime rib and a side. The salt potatoes were good too. I wasn't aware they get their seafood flown in fresh but I saw on facebook that they do. Great service, great prices. The salad bar thing is a little weird though and feels like pizza hut--unnecessary.

Stuffed hot peppers

The place is always packed with locals. Restaurant and bar with a separate door for each. If you just going to the restaurant, enter through the middle door. We went on prime rib night (Thursday) for two $44 I guess comes with salad bar. We ordered the stuff peppers for a appetizer which was a special and they were perfect. Sausage and cheese filled. I got a cheese burger and my husband got the fish sandwich. Both came with fries and a pickle. The waitress didn't ask how I wanted my burger cooked but it came out perfect. We also stayed for dessert. I had chocolate pie and my husband had banana cake. They also had Glenora Niagara wine which is a local wine I don't see often. Very happy to see. Why I waited to come here escapes me. But food and service are perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Fish Fry (Haddock) To-go: Came with fries, coleslaw, mac salad, a dinner roll w/butter, and a lemon slice and tartar sauce for the fish fry!

It's funny, I grew up about 10 minutes away from The Alabama Hotel but I have never had a meal, or a drink, from there. That all changed when my family picked up a few fish fry meals, to keep in-line with the Friday Fish Fry craze in WNY, and I was very impressed! On a Friday around 5pm, my mom and her friend ordered three fish fry meals for pick-up. Now I wasn't with them when they picked up the meals, but from what they told me, the experience was pretty seamless, even with how bustling the place was. They didn't have to wait long at all to pay out and get the meals and go. They told me there wasn't an empty table to be found! On to the fish fry itself - It came with a HUGE beer-batter fried Haddock (with a cup of tartar sauce and a lemon slice to squeeze), TONs of fries, a little cup of coleslaw, a little cup of cheesy macaroni salad, and a dinner roll with butter. I was absolutely impressed with how much food I received, but the box it came in gave me a pretty good idea. The fish was fried perfectly - not greasy at all, easy to cut with a fork, and not too "fishy" tasting, but that's most likely due to the fish being Haddock, which typically doesn't taste as "fishy" as others I've had. The coleslaw was excellent, the right level of moistness with a slight vinegar-y flavor but not overwhelming at all. The macaroni salad was excellent too, I was surprised by the cheesy flavor it had, I wasn't expecting it but very much welcomed that. The fries were very good. By the time we were able to sit down and eat our meals though, which was about 40 minutes later, the fries had cooled off and when I finally got around to eating them, they were cold, but that was not a fault of the restaurant at all. As I mentioned at the start, the size of the fish fry and the number of sides was more than generous. All of us walked away plenty full and happy - I, of course, was able to finish mine but my mom and her friend could not. I'm really glad to finally have tried food from The Alabama Hotel! The take-out experience was pretty seamless and the food quality and portions were great. I'd very much like to actually sit inside and grab a meal there, so maybe 2022 will be the year. :)

Mmmm the prime rib

Fabolous prime rib, the best New England clam chowder i ever had. Missing the salad bar but the bowl the table gets is enough for many people. Can't get any better then the Alabama hotel!

Hotel Alabama isn't much but should you find yourself stuck in the Town of Alabama, New York, it's about the best you'll be able to find. I generally stop here in the afternoons, after a morning of goose hunting and while killing time waiting for the returning evening flight of geese; having a few drinks and exchanging hunting stories with the rest of the patrons. Dress is generally camouflage with baseball cap.

Christmas Eve 2022 in Hotel Alabama.

Christmas Eve 2022 in Hotel Alabama. About more than 100 people were stuck here because of the storm. Joe, the owner and the neighbors had us here, treated the free meals, hot drinks and blankets, air beds, even Christmas gifts to kids. I and my 10 year old son with our dog were part of them, who really appreciated Joe's kindness and generous. It made us a very memorable Christmas Eve. Thanks, Joe ! And special thank to the Mom who volunteered with her one month baby. It almost made me tears down. I wrote an article and posted those pictures on WeChat E-Magazine. More than three thousands Chinese people have read it and even goes more. I hope everyone who read that can say hi to Joe when they take vacation in Niagara Falls. He deserves that!

The mouth of this Creek is the Niagara River, which dumps into Niagara Falls, then Lake Ontario (not "Lake America" dammit) then into the St. Lawrence River. What do you know? cool, huh? I'm a geek so I like this kind of trivia lol Going back to the establishment.... it really is a log cabin. great ambiance 5/5 as you can see the Indian Falls from most of the tables on the inside patio. Service was friendly and quick, even on a very busy Labor Day afternoon. I enjoyed my cocktail, a Ruby Red Mule. My girlfriend enjoyed her draft the EBC Blueberry. She ordered the Reuben sandwich which was fantastic. Loaded with fries on the side. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wing sandwich. Loved it! Had a little kick and not greasy. Both sandwiches were around $18. There was a band playing on the patio when we were leaving. Looks like a fun loving crowd. Many of them bikers. I would definitely be back if I'm in the area.

It was a Thursday night around 5:30 pm. We did not have a reservation. Restaurant was about half full at that time, with lots of indoor and outdoor options. We chose to sit inside and JoHannah was our server. First off, service: JoHannah (that's how it sounded, but might not be spelled right) was excellent! She was friendly, super knowledgable about the specials and the menu, very efficient, and attentive. She was there as soon as we needed her before we even called her over. Service out of the kitchen was great too - time from ordering to being served was short and courses came out without too much time in between. Second, food: everything we ate was delicious. Food seemed high quality with nice presentation. We had a cup of the Italian wedding soup (soup of the day) to start - it was possible to have a cup or a bowl, and it came with a packet of crackers. It was great - broth was flavorful without being too herby, had a good amount of pastina, meatballs and cheese, and the cup was a nice amount before the appetizer. Next, we shared the special appetizer of burrata with a local peach and jalapeño salsa, over a bed of arugula dressed with a lemony dressing, served with crostini. It was very very good. The salsa was very flavorful and the perfect combo of textures and sweet, spicy, salty. For our main, we had decided we definitely wanted dessert, so we split a dish - we got a 10-oz steak with asparagus, and what was described as shoe-string fries. A side of béarnaise came with the steak. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the béarnaise was a delicious accompaniment. The fries were 'regular fries' in our opinion, not 'shoe-string', which are usually much thinner. But they were fresh and crispy. For dessert, there were so many options! This was definitely one of the best dessert menus I've seen around - besides gelato, chocolate lava cake and cannoli (which everyone seems to have these days), they offered affogato, several cakes, and the cheesecake, which we got, which had raspberry, blueberries and pistachios. We thought it was delicious - a generous slice and perfect for sharing. All together with tax, it was the perfect amount of food for us, and the bill (we did not have any drinks) was almost exactly $100. We consider that, for the experience and food quality, to be a great value. Final notes: They brought out a basket of their homemade rosemary sourdough bread with regular whipped (unsalted) butter and a 'butter of the day' (which on this day was (we think) blueberry) for the table. The bread was so good we ate the entire small loaf - and we probably shouldn't have done that only because we were extremely full by the time we finished dessert! Also, ambiance inside is nice - feels a little fancy, though diners were all dressed comfortably, many in shorts. I would think this is a great spot for date nights, birthdays or family dinners where you want to feel special. There is a small parking lot right next to the restaurant and street parking too. Reservations are recommended for weekends (and by the time we left, around 7:15 pm, the whole restaurant inside and out was packed!) We'll be back!

The smoke flavor definitely came through and it came with some pickleld veggies and cucumbers, it was fresh and tasty. I went with the crab and corn chowder with the bourbon jam burger and fries. Also at the table was a basket of fried shrimp, and the chicken waffles. First let me say their seasoned fries are absolutely amazing. Fried perfect and when they call them seasoned, that they are in a great way! My crab and corn chowder was tasty. I could used bit more crab but that didn't take away from it tasting good. Three of us had made reservations for 6pm on a Thursday and when we arrived, there were zero issues. Parking for Harvest is primarily street parking but there are smaller parking lots nearby. The interior comes across fancy, modern, with nice views of Main St. and as you walk in to the dining room, the open-kitchen to our left and a warmly lit, nicely stocked bar to our right. We were seated at a table towards the middle of the dining room. At 6pm, most tables were empty but when we were leaving there were a good amount of people at both the bar and seated in the dining room, so it seems like people tend to come for a later meal. Our waitress came over and poured us waters and provided drink and food menus. This was a first for me - the menus lit up! Our waitress though was incredibly courteous and personable, she did a fantastic job checking on us. To kick the evening off, I ordered their Honey Hibiscus cocktail, which is mezcal, Grand Marnier, hibiscus, ginger, honey, cinnamon, lime, and fee foam. This was a nicely balanced cocktail with a more floral, fruity flavor. With the open kitchen concept, it was neat to see the chef and cooks working on our meals as we relaxed, talked, and munched on some warmed focaccia-like bread with a freshly made balsamic, olive oil, herb dip. The bread was so soft with the perfect amount of chew on the crust/exterior, and served warm. For dinner, I ordered Pappardelle Mornay and added (perfectly grilled) chicken breast for a few more dollars, which is simply pappardelle pasta in a creamy cheese mornay. Our waitress crushed some black pepper atop my dish before I started in. This was excellent - The pasta itself tasted so fresh, the cheese mornay was indeed very creamy, and the grilled chicken breast was cooked, seasoned, cut, and portioned perfectly. I am really glad I added the chicken breast to this dish as I'm not sure the pasta itself would've filled me up. I'd definitely order this again! To wrap up our meal, since it was Thursday, there's a "1/2 off Nightcaps" special, so each of us enjoyed a cold foam espresso martini afterward, which is coffee-infused vodka, Nue vodka, FAIR Café liqueur, dark crème de cacao, Steamworks espresso, chocolate bitters, vanilla syrup, and topped with an infused cold foam, which we went with the Frangelico Hazelnut cold foam, and a few espresso beans. This was ridiculously rich and delish! Harvest is an intimate, elevated dining experience, designed to have you stay a while, relax, and enjoy a more personal meal. All of us really enjoyed our evening here and have nothing but high praise for the staff and quality food. This isn't a fast, casual, cheap sit-down meal, but it's an experience worth the higher price. I look forward to coming back!

He was a professional restaurateur who was paid to sit with celebrities at the posh places he worked in South Florida in the 70s. Whatever else is said, the man had high standards in food and dining experience. When he opened, and for years after the place was always packed and very popular. The food was high quality and your meal came with 2 sides, salad, hot bread and nice presentation at a reasonable price. Alex left the business several years ago and the current owner has run it for some time. Today was my first time back in several years. The outside looks dated and needs a refresh. I almost thought it was closed. It was 2:30pm on Saturday before Mother's Day and almost empty. I don't recall it ever not being full of people waiting at the bar for a table. Until today. The decor is ok although I don't care for the fringe lamps directly over your head. I was going to get ribs but decided on 10 oz prime rib ($32.00) comes with 1 side (I chose baked potato - only sour cream and butter is offered). No salad unless you pay extra! The warm bread was fine with two kinds of butter. My companion had the Kids spaghetti $(8.99). My prime rib came out and it looked about half the normal thickness it should be and in a puddle of juice. Even the server commented about why the kitchen did that. And it was warm, at best. No horseradish or other condiments were offered. No garnish on the plate. Just a thin slab of meat. The juice should have been in a separate cup. But the small baked potato was steaming hot! My companion had a giant pile of spaghetti with about a 1/4 cup of sauce on top! Too little for the mound of spaghetti. And it looked like cheap jar sauce and no meatballs. She didn't mind but I wasn't thrilled. And her fountain drink did not come with the meal ($3.99)! I had a lavender lemon drop martini that was ok. ($10). Ultimately the food is mediocre and it feels like they are cutting corners to keep prices down. But that means it's no longer the special place it used to be. Sad.
