I would also give a negative star if it was an option. My dog "Family Member" was not only physically harmed, but emotionally hurt as well. I've never seen her act like this. I have no proof she was abused, but she sure acts like she was. However, I do have proof that she was physically hurt, as we have taken het to our vet. She received a steroid shot and will be on antibiotics for the next two weeks. I see several other poor reviews on yelp. Perhaps we should start a class action lawsuit against this abomination of a dog boarding facility and donate any awards to the "Animal Friends of the Valley". read more

I love camp bow wow! The staff is amazing and I know when I leave my baby girl she is going to be loved on and taken care of! The first day (the interview) they make them this super cute binder that says what they did that day and who they played with! It was amazing and so cute! She loves going to camp, we pull up and she gets super excited and starts jumping on my lap like mom let's go!!! It makes me so happy to know she loves it there!!! Today was my dogs interview day, and I picked her up within 2 hours of dropping her off. The cameras are available while your dog is there and I kept seeing one dog target my dog and continuously mount her. Each time the person in the area with the dogs did not respond or act on it. I called twice and they said they separated them and gave the dog a break but the dog was still out mounting my dog. Also I was let down by the overall structure. I hear a lot of great things about Camp Bow Wow but all the dogs did was stand in a gated area with a large amount of dogs with little-to no interaction and no toys. It was a very underwhelming experience. read more

Very happy with Camp Bow Wow and their care of my dogs. Ive gone for day care only. My pugs are my fur babies and its avery nice, clean place with great staff. Our Puppy, Elijah, absolutely loves it there! The staff, trainers, and groomers are wonderful! I am so glad my husband and I found this gem! On his first day, they eased him into meeting all of the other dogs and took such good care of him. Also, they have cameras so you can check in and watch your fur baby play! When I picked Elijah up after his first day, they gave me a folder. Inside it was a cute picture of Elijah and it said "My First Day at Camp Bow Wow!" Soo cute! The folder also had their information and coupons for day care, play and train, boarding, and even a bath! He had his first training session with Kendra and she sent him home with a detailed description on what training they worked on as well as information on how we can work on the training at home. This is an update on our poodle "Delaney". She acquired Kennel cough after being boarded at Camp Bow Wow. This is the second time she has developed Kennel cough after being boarded there. She has been boarded there 4 times....2/4 is not good. She has all of her immunizations and is a house dog, goes potty in our yard. She has been to the vet 3 times, today was the third time as she was not responding to the antibiotics that were given the first time. The last two times...including today have been emergency visits as she was and is having labored breathing, no appetite and is lethargic. She had a chest x-ray today and has developed pneumonia from the kennel cough and is on a second antibiotic, If she doesn't start eating by Monday the vet has suggested that she be hospitalized for IV fluids. We have been bringing our Chocolate Lab here once a week for over nine months for all day play day. Never a problem. We set him up for a five day stay while we were on vacation. Two hours after we dropped him off we got a call saying he had a run in with a dog and had to be separated. They separated him from the other dog for about 30 minutes. They then put him back in with the group and he had an incident with a pit bull. They separated our dog and then told us he would not be able to play again. We asked if they would see how he did the next day and they said he was permanently banned from the facility and would not be able to play anymore. The owner was supposed to call us that afternoon but she did not. My wife called at 6:45 pm and talked with the owner Lisa. Lisa said that our dog attacked a Burmese Mountain dog unprovoked ( this was not the case, when we talked to the assistant manager when we returned from our vacation she said that the Burmese was howling which got many of the dogs riled but our dog and the Burmese did get into it a little). No injuries to the Burmese which is contrary to what Lisa told us Monday night. The second altercation with the pit bull did (in the ass't mgr's words) cause some minor wounds but the dog was okay. Out dog was also hurt as he had scratched to his nose and around his eyes. Our dog was put in a pen by himself for the duration of his stay. The other dogs apparently were permitted to play and were not "banned". We paid full boarding and play time for 6 days but did not get what we paid for with no accommodations for lack of playtime. I guess that's why this place makes you pay up front. That way they get their money and to heck with the customer. Very unprofessional. I also asked to have Lisa call me, which of course she didn't. ***Update*** I did hear back from Melissa who was, during this call, apologetic, and offered to see if they can help with the vet bill which I do appreciate. She stated that she spoke with her staff and no one could recall any sort of incident, but she again acknowledged that this was not acceptable. My trust unfortunately is lost at this point, but I do appreciate the follow up and discussion. We took our sweet girl to Camp Bow Wow for a three night stay over the weekend. When we picked her up, the gal behind the counter told us that she had a great time playing and the only issue was she didn't eat much. We brought her home and we noticed that her collar was frayed and ripped at. It didn't occur to us to think much of it until later we noticed dozens of bite marks all under the sides of her neck. Some where still open, and there were bloody scabs over most. We were horrified. I called the next morning (Monday) and asked to speak with a manager. Melissa took my call and when I described the wounds she proceeded to tell me "Oh, it sounds like rough play". I corrected her to tell her that this was NOT rough play and that this was completely unacceptable. They clearly were not paying attention to the dogs playing in the yards even though they claim to have an employee in each outdoor area. I demanded a better answer than just the BS "rough play" excuse and at this point she became extremely rude and told me she would have to talk with her staff and get back to me. Our sweet girl is on topical and oral antibiotics and needs to follow up with her vet again in a few days. The manager who said she would call me back, still has not gotten back to me! This is the only place we will take our dog to, and it's the only place that our dog is OK with us taking him to. We had a horrible experience with a different doggie camp - when we returned back from a weekend vacation they told us that our dog would not be allowed back and that he was lunging and scaring the workers. Mind you, our dog is a 20 pound Dachshund that wouldn't hurt a fly. What this told me was that they didn't take the time to work with him and make sure he was comfortable during a sometimes scary a stressful time for the dog. Camp Bow Wow exceeded our expectations. Not only did they take the time to work with our frightened pup during the "interview" process, but continue to make sure with each visit that they allow him to adjust without immediately forcing action. Our pup is a rescue who was beaten prior to us adopting him....sometimes he needs a little longer to trust the person who is taking care of him. Each time we return from vacation, our dog Frog has fallen in love with more of the workers. We love watching him on the webcam and seeing him happily wagging his tail. We've been taking our standard poodle there for the past two years, since she was about 6 months old to play . We've boarded her there 4 times while in vacation. The last time was about 2 weeks ago. She is currently very ill with kennel cough, this is #2 time she's gotten kennel cough after being boarded there. The first time we just thought it happens and we gave them the benefit of "the doubt. But now it seems 2/4 times...that there is something wrong with the way they manage the feeding/watering , cleaning or general book keeping on making sure all dogs boarded have up to date immunizations. Our sweet standard poodle is very ill, she's been to the vet twice, once an emergency because she was wheezing. She's on medication and still doesn't want to eat. She is fully vaccinated! Now having said all that, the staff are kind and attentive. The owner is as well, but something isn't going right at that site. We boarded our cockapoo for 13 years, every year for family vacations at Country Kennels and not once did he get sick! We chose Camp Bow Wow for Delaney because she went there to play a couple times a week. No more, after Delaney being so sick , again, we will never be back. Lady told me I needed proof from Texas that one dog had already been to a camp bow wow or he would have to interview again. I said reinterview would be fine because I wanted them to stay together. I brought both my dogs to their interview and was informed that i would charged for day care for one dog because he had been at a camp bow wow before. Seriously? ?? I was Disappointed but still left them for the interview. After 3 hours of finding something to do i returned to collect my dogs. Not only were the employees at the desk unfriendly but they also double checked several times to be sure I paid the day care fee. They myst be in serious financial trouble or just plain greedy. Reasonable pricing, excellent staff & great service. I hate leaving my dogs but when its vacation time and they need a place to stay, this is their home away from home. I have two dogs and while they hate it when I bring them in (nails in carpet, etc), when its time to pick them up, I always have a hard time bringing them home! Silly boys. They also request that you leave your dogs there for a kind of "test run" prior to leaving them for a longer period of time -- very wise. The place itself is actually hidden amongst the other businesses in the area but once you go inside its so cutely decorated (my jack went crazy at all the scents!). The staff always greets me then greets my boys with a big smile. Its cool because you can even see the dogs playing via webcam! So when I'm in the hotel, I always check up on them on their "vacation". . :) When I leave, I always know they're in great hands. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! I have a 2 year and 8 month cattle dogs, needless to say my pups are high energy and after their visits to camp they are always tired and well behaved from a day full of playing with their buddies. I have been a patron to Camp Bow Wow and I have used their services for day care, boarding, grooming, and obedience classes for over one year (when I relocated to the area from Colorado) and the staff and the owners all care a great deal for their customers (human and canine.) Some of the Camp's service Superstars are Kendra, Kelsey, Sarah, Yvonne, Melissa, and their trainer Jordan, however all of the staff at camp are amazing and make me and my two pups reassured that they are going to have a safe and great time during their stay at Camp Bow Wow. There was an incident where my 8 month old cattle dog was bit by a pit bull in their facility, the attack was unforeseen and the other dog did not display any aggression towards my dog until the other dog seemed to just snap. - my dog ended up needing to go to the vet and be put on antibiotics. Camp Bow Wow ownership was in the loop the entire time and they were very compassionate regarding the incident and they dismissed the aggressive dog from returning to the camp ever again. Camp Bow Wow paid for the losses with my pup and they kept my business. I did research their competitors and I am certain that Camp Bow Wow's competitors would not have handled the situation as well at the ownership at Camp Bow Wow did. something like this is not usually something you think about until it happens to you and your dog. My sister and I took our babies here (both under 10 lbs) for evaluations sometime in August, 2012. We were looking for a doggy day care to board our fur babies over Labor Day weekend, as we were going to Las Vegas. Camp Bow Wow in Temecula came highly recommended. After doing some initial research, I was delighted to find out that they have a doggy cam - I'm sure most doggy parents would agree that this is absolutely essential. I called and spoke to a very helpful girl named Yvonne. After talking to Yvonne, we set up an appointment for a FREE evaluation. Basically, this is done to make sure that your dog plays nicely and will not endanger themselves or other campers. Come on, its like free daycare. They keep them for a minimum of 4 hours, but offer to keep them all day at no charge. Anyways, sister and I stopped by a day before the evaluation to fill out the paperwork and to provide all of the necessary documentation (this means vaccination records people). We wanted to be able to just drop off the kids without having to subject everyone to the barking and wailing of my anxious boy while I filled out paperwork in the lobby. On the day of the evaluation, we met the owner upon arrival (I think her name was Lisa?). She was very nice, and it was very obvious how much she loves dogs and how much she loves what she does. This is SO important and helped to put my neurotic sister at ease (it was her first time ever leaving her baby girl at doggy day care). I'm not going to lie when I say that we literally creepster-spied on them through the doggy cam for 4 hours after that. My boy did his usual lay-in-one-corner-and-watch-everyone thing and sister's little girl paced and desperately searched for an escape the entire time. They were exhausted when we picked them up at the end of the evaluation, but this is to be expected. We were provided a little packet consisting of their detailed evaluation report and a certificate of graduation with their photos (so cute!). The staff and owner also gave us little testimonials of how the babies did on their first day of camp. We didn't end up boarding the pups that weekend, but we are SO glad that we had them evaluated there for future needs. We ended up taking our dogs to Las Vegas, but my loud-mouthed boy received a noise complaint at the hotel. Fortunately, there is a Camp Bow Wow in Las Vegas! I only mention this because this location in Temecula did me a HUGE favor by forwarding Momo's evaluation details to the Vegas location last minute and we were able to board him for the remainder of our trip with no problems! We took our Bailey there for the first time last month. We were a little nervous about leaving her with someone we didn't know. On my first call in to get information I was very impressed by their process. They don't take just any dog, they have each dog go through an "interview" first. It also put us at ease so we could see how she did before we left town. When we picked her up, we were given her "De-Tails" card with a ton of great notes! She had such a great experience for her first time being boarded. When we took her back that weekend for her overnight stay we enjoyed being able to watch her on the cameras and loved seeing her playing with all the other dogs. We picked her up the next day, she was clean and happy. The staff were amazing and we could tell how Bailey interacted with them that they took very good care of her. I couldn't love this place more. 8+ hours of active play each day. When I travel I watch the live feed all the time and see the humans taking great care of the dogs. My girls is a hyper younger dog who plays hard and she appropriately gets a time out occasionally. My dog loves it. I had been to Camp Bow Wow Las Vegas twice and was pleased with the care and exercise my dog received. When I had a trip to Palm Springs coming up, I decided to drop my baby off at Camp Bow Wow Temecula on my way from San Diego. It was perfect because it was on the way and right off the highway (15). I have to say that I love this camp even more than the Las Vegas location. The employees were extra helpful and friendly (from the time I called to book to the time I picked him up after his stay). I guess the best part was that they gave me a "My First Day at Camp" booklet with my baby's picture on it (which the LV camp never did). He looked so happy in the picture. They told me all about his stay. Positives and negatives (he didn't eat much while he was there): so I knew they weren't hiding anything or trying to make it sound like he was the perfect camper because I'm sure he had his moments. They even posted his picture on their Facebook page. It made me feel like they really got to know him and took care of him and not simply watched him. It might sound silly, but I could tell when I picked my guy up that he had a great time. He was worn out and happy. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. All I have to say is that the staff needs to do their job. Their is one person assigned to each yard, and they switch every hour. That person is supposed to be over seeing the welfare of each dog. For example I should not have to watch my puppy being pinned down and attacked by two dogs, for over five minutes, that are larger than him. Than be told he was playing, when it was very clear that he was being attacked. The girl who was in charge of overseeing the welfare of not just my dog, but all the dogs, was starring at the ceiling and literally did not give a crap about the welfare of any dog. I don't mind spending a lot of money to guarantee that my dog has a good time and is safe. Safety is key. I will NEVER recommend Camp Bow Wow and I will never return again. read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Camp Bow Wow Temecula. During a recent overnight boarding, when my dog came home she was unable to walk properly due to her legs collapsing under her and poor coordination. She was taken to the local pet emergency department for evaluation which resulted in a 36 hour admission and neurologist follow up who diagnosed her with a Spinal Cord Contusion. There is no definitive proof that my dog sustained the spinal cord contusion during her stay at Camp Bow Wow Temecula so this bad review is not based on that. I understand that accidents happen and that the dogs participate in group play during their stay. The reason for this bad review is because of the staffs behavior surrounding this incident. When my dog was sent home, her report card said that there were no incidents during her stay and that she was a "happy camper." However, when I called to inquire if they could check her record for any incidents, the woman that I spoke to said that she did not need to check the record because she remembered my dog and that all she did was bark in her kennel while she was there. This is something that should have been on the report card. I also asked if there was a way to check if my dog was accidentally dropped, jumped on by another dog, given another dogs medication, or accidentally ingested something as all of those things could cause neurologic problems. The woman became defensive and denied these things. I then asked to speak to a manager, was told that one was not there at that time, and I said I would check back when there was one. Later on I was contacted by the owner Lisa. At that time she was very apologetic and expressed compassion about my dogs condition. She then promised me that she or another staff member would check the video footage to help identify a potential cause for her condition and follow up with me. It is now 48 hours later and I have yet to hear back from anyone at Camp Bow Wow to check on her or report that they did/did not see anything on the video footage. This bad review is because I do not feel that my pet was safe at Camp Bow Wow- not because of her potentially getting hurt while she is there, accidents happen- but because I do not trust the staff to act and follow through in the event of an emergency. During my telephone conversation with the manager, she reported to me that after speaking to one of the staff members, one of them did see my dog "walk funny" at one point but did not act on it because she didn't know if it was normal. They never called me asking if it was normal and if I wanted her to be seen by a veterinarian. Additionally, there was no report of this observation (or about her barking lots while in her kennel) on the report card. Needless to say, I will not be taking my dog back to Camp Bow Wow and I hope this review allows you to make an informed decision about where your dog stays when you're away. read more

We love Camp Bow Wow! The staff are amazing, attentive, caring and helpful. I love that we always get a report card for our pup, and that they remember who she likes to play with. I was impressed with the tour that I had from the owner when we first went to check it out, and love how they keep in communication with all their staff to ensure your dog gets the best care. It is clean, cared for, and they do a great job with grooming also! My pup always comes home happy, clean and tired. My dog has also been boarded there, and all went well. I would only board my dogs a couple of times a year when I needed to travel and had done so at Camp Bow Wow and I received great positive report cards on my two female husky's. On this particular time when I picked up my dogs I was received by the "floor supervisor" Marlene stating I had a balance owed, I asked her to explain and she stated I did not pay in full and I asked to print out all charges that show the total, then I showed her via my mobile bank the exact charge withdrawn from Camp BWW and she dropped it. She then asked me to enter an office to speak with me in private and was told she was dismissing my dogs and they could no longer come back to board... WHAT?!!! WHY?!! She said that it was a decision made and was only relaying the message, I continued to ask why as she proceeded to open the door and want to let me out but I insisted on a reason, did my dogs bite the helpers or another dog?? NOPE! Her reason was that my dogs did not want to get on a leash when play time is over nor leave their kennel when asked... r u kidding me?? So because of this I don't get a notice or a warning?? they just get thrown out from CBWW! and then she handed me a report from the groomer and the helpers (as they usually hand out) that stated my doggy's were great dogs to groom and friendly... WOW! I asked to speak to the Manager and I wanted her name because she wasn't there at that time. Marlene refused to give me her name supposedly against their policy and asked that I call back the next day. I did, and no Manager available (go figure!) I still expressed my concern and was told I would get a call back from the no name Manager but I NEVER DID! I do know this... things happen for a reason and since then I have boarded my dogs at DOGTOPIA and they are AMAZING!! I will never recommend CBWW because of this last experience!! read more
