If I could give a negative star I would. All I have to say is that the staff needs to do their job. Their is one person assigned to each yard, and they switch every hour. That person is supposed to be over seeing the welfare of each dog. For example I should not have to watch my puppy being pinned down and attacked by two dogs, for over five minutes, that are larger than him. Than be told he was playing, when it was very clear that he was being attacked. The girl who was in charge of overseeing the welfare of not just my dog, but all the dogs, was starring at the ceiling and literally did not give a crap about the welfare of any dog. I don't mind spending a lot of money to guarantee that my dog has a good time and is safe. Safety is key. I will NEVER recommend Camp Bow Wow and I will never return again. read more

I was hesitant to bring my 6 month puppy anywhere for a few hours of socialization. When I called Camp Bow Wow of Temecula, I was reassured that the staff is well trained and they answered all of my questions and concerns. I was able to schedule an evaluation for Hudson and was very pleased when I arrived. Of course it smelled like dogs, which I expected but I really liked the staff. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Camp Bow Wow Temecula. During a recent overnight boarding, when my dog came home she was unable to walk properly due to her legs collapsing under her and poor coordination. She was taken to the local pet emergency department for evaluation which resulted in a 36 hour admission and neurologist follow up who diagnosed her with a Spinal Cord Contusion. There is no definitive proof that my dog sustained the spinal cord contusion during her stay at Camp Bow Wow Temecula so this bad review is not based on that. I understand that accidents happen and that the dogs participate in group play during their stay. The reason for this bad review is because of the staffs behavior surrounding this incident. When my dog was sent home, her report card said that there were no incidents during her stay and that she was a "happy camper." However, when I called to inquire if they could check her record for any incidents, the woman that I spoke to said that she did not need to check the record because she remembered my dog and that all she did was bark in her kennel while she was there. This is something that should have been on the report card. I also asked if there was a way to check if my dog was accidentally dropped, jumped on by another dog, given another dogs medication, or accidentally ingested something as all of those things could cause neurologic problems. The woman became defensive and denied these things. I then asked to speak to a manager, was told that one was not there at that time, and I said I would check back when there was one. Later on I was contacted by the owner Lisa. At that time she was very apologetic and expressed compassion about my dogs condition. She then promised me that she or another staff member would check the video footage to help identify a potential cause for her condition and follow up with me. It is now 48 hours later and I have yet to hear back from anyone at Camp Bow Wow to check on her or report that they did/did not see anything on the video footage. This bad review is because I do not feel that my pet was safe at Camp Bow Wow- not because of her potentially getting hurt while she is there, accidents happen- but because I do not trust the staff to act and follow through in the event of an emergency. During my telephone conversation with the manager, she reported to me that after speaking to one of the staff members, one of them did see my dog "walk funny" at one point but did not act on it because she didn't know if it was normal. They never called me asking if it was normal and if I wanted her to be seen by a veterinarian. Additionally, there was no report of this observation (or about her barking lots while in her kennel) on the report card. Needless to say, I will not be taking my dog back to Camp Bow Wow and I hope this review allows you to make an informed decision about where your dog stays when you're away. read more

I would only board my dogs a couple of times a year when I needed to travel and had done so at Camp Bow Wow and I received great positive report cards on my two female husky's. On this particular time when I picked up my dogs I was received by the "floor supervisor" Marlene stating I had a balance owed, I asked her to explain and she stated I did not pay in full and I asked to print out all charges that show the total, then I showed her via my mobile bank the exact charge withdrawn from Camp BWW and she dropped it. She then asked me to enter an office to speak with me in private and was told she was dismissing my dogs and they could no longer come back to board... WHAT?!!! WHY?!! She said that it was a decision made and was only relaying the message, I continued to ask why as she proceeded to open the door and want to let me out but I insisted on a reason, did my dogs bite the helpers or another dog?? NOPE! Her reason was that my dogs did not want to get on a leash when play time is over nor leave their kennel when asked... r u kidding me?? So because of this I don't get a notice or a warning?? they just get thrown out from CBWW! and then she handed me a report from the groomer and the helpers (as they usually hand out) that stated my doggy's were great dogs to groom and friendly... WOW! I asked to speak to the Manager and I wanted her name because she wasn't there at that time. Marlene refused to give me her name supposedly against their policy and asked that I call back the next day. I did, and no Manager available (go figure!) I still expressed my concern and was told I would get a call back from the no name Manager but I NEVER DID! I do know this... things happen for a reason and since then I have boarded my dogs at DOGTOPIA and they are AMAZING!! I will never recommend CBWW because of this last experience!! read more

This place is great. We have a rescue dog who was severely abused before we got here. She vomits, shakes, has severe anxiety in most normal situations. She only warms up and is comfortable with the kindest people. She's been going to Camp Bow Wow for two years now. Many overnights, and she's always excited to come back. We love Camp bow Wow! Our labrador puppy Ace has been coming here for level 1 puppy training and he loves seeing his friends and learning new commands. I'll start my saying my dog is my child. She is our world (we have no kids yet lol) and I never leave her with anyone but my parents. When we got married I obviously didn't have my parents as an option so Camp Bow Wow it was and I was SOOO happy to see they had cameras (watch out though, watching can get addicting! Ha). It's been almost 7 months of taking my dog there and she is starting to come out of her shell around other dogs which I'm really thankful for. All the employees there are so nice and it makes me so happy when I walk in and they know I'm Charli's mom :) I love this place and will never take my dog any where else! The staff were friendly and professional. Everyone was knowledgeable. Interview day lasts for at least 3 hours but can be for the entire day. Outside yards are astro turf and are cleaned every morning. There are cameras that you can watch from your phone. We needed a reliable place to board our fur baby for our wedding this month, and when we found this place on Yelp, we decided to give it a try. After an appointment was made via phone call, we arrived to the camp which isn't located too far from the I-15 freeway and not terribly far from our venue. This appointment was for Bubba's first day interview, which is designed to observe Bubba as he interacts with the other dogs. Once we submitted his shot records (make sure they are up-to-date!) they took him to the "campers only" back rooms to slowly integrate him into the huge indoor/outdoor play areas while we watched on the live web cams. At first he seemed timid and stayed close to the door, not wanting to interact with the other dogs. We could tell he was confused of our whereabouts. Eventually they let him off the leash and he started to act more like a dog. The "camp counselor" reported back to us that he was doing well and to return within three hours to pick him up. During this time, we ran wedding errands and did a little wine tasting. After a short time, we grew curious of Bubba's level of activities so we logged into the Live Web Cam and watched Bubba mingle around with the other dogs, using our iPhones. My favorite thing about this place--being able to see my dog while I'm away brings comfort to my worried heart! After three hours, we returned to pick him up. He seemed exhausted but glad to see us. We were informed that Bubba did very well and that he is officially welcome to stay overnight at the camp. I'll probably update this review since we aren't sure how the overnight stays will go, but our first impression of this place is impressive and leaves little to be worried about. read more

We where looking for place to put are dog because we where going on a road trip and I saw the adds for this place. Gave them a call and made an appointment, the road trip fall through but I decided to take are anyways to see if we might need them in the future.. I was so impressed with the camp I decided to leave him for the 3hrs and at first Sully was scared but once he got use to it he was fine. The staff was really good with him and now he loves it he was scared of other dogs at first but now he likes them. Sully loves the staff members more and they are really good him. We left our 2 dogs here for 8 days. During day 6 we got a call from Yvonne at camp bow wow to inform us of one of our dogs with red irritation on her back feet. We think that Milo was sad and missed us. Yvonne offered to take Milo back to her cabin and just sit with her and give her love. The staff cares about the dogs and does a fantastic job. I spoke to someone named Nicole trying to set up a week stay for my dogs because I am due to give birth next week. She asked for my name. I give it to her. She tells me that I'm not an authorized person and gives me the names of the people authorized. I tell her that this list is not correct and should have been changed five years ago, as my husband's ex girlfriend should not be on this list. She tells me that there is nothing she can do about it, but great news, she can get the dogs in on the days requested for a 50 percent deposit. Wonderful staff. Extremely friendly. My family moved to Temecula from the Bay Area and was staying a hotel for 2 weeks. We put our dog in the care of CBW. Staff was very kind to us- we'd call a few times to hear how our dog was eating. They didn't mind the phone calls at all. They even suggested coming by if we'd like to see our pup. Love camp bow wow! Just took my dog last sunday for hus interview and they gave a complimentary daycare stay,so we left him there all day and he had so much fun. The daycare itself is alright, however, DO NOT LET THEM GROOM YOUR ANIMAL. The groomers were instructed to take out mats if able and were allowed to trim her however they COMPLETELY SHAVED our dog. We own a Great Pyrenees which typically has a large coat. To our shock they shaved all of it off including hair on the head leaving patterns in the side of patchy fur. The overcoat will take years to regrow with 6 months of careful monitoring for the undercoat. Pyrenees are not supposed to be shaved under one inch and the lack of foresight and communication from the groomers is appalling. DO NOT in any way shape or form have your dogs attended Camp Bow Wow in Temecula!! My husband and I boarded both our dogs there the week of May 12-May 19 2012 it was their first time there. Boy, did we make a huge mistake by picking this facility! We received a phone call on our vacation in London on Friday telling us that our dog Mason has a puncture wound and they are not sure how he got it. No less than an hour earlier we checked on them via their web cam through the iphone app and we saw them in the indoor play yard with a lot of dogs and no supervision. We even checked the outside web cam to see if staff was there and no they were not. Then we received the dreaded phone call! They took him to the vet were he need to be put under, given stitches and a drainage tube! My dog only weighs 10 pounds soaking wet! All I could do all the from London was cry and shorten our trip by a day to get home to Mason! We even had my mother-in-law drive done from Reno to pick him up from the vet and our other dog Madison from that God forsaken place! My mother-in-law tells me when she picks up Madison she asked the staff what happened to Mason and they tell her the same lame excuse of a story that they don't know. Then they also had the balls to tell her that he may have done it himself...REALLY!?!? Isn't it their job to know! I paid you $680 to keep my dogs safe! That means you are responsible for them and their well-being! IT GETS WORSE FOLKS! Today I give my dog Madison a bath and she has a bite across the bridge of her nose. So, not only did Camp Bow Wow (Temecula) fail to take care of my dogs now they are both injured! Mason's vet bill was $400 and now I have to take Madison to the vet tomorrow to check on her bite. We have had our dogs for 7 years! We go on vacation every year and they are boarded never, never has anything like this ever happened! We checked on them every couple of hours via their web cam never saw a staff member in the play areas the whole time! I say again, DO NOT USE CAMP BOW WOW TEMECULA! This business is not fit for the dog day care industry. They are not competent to handle energetic dogs and their facility won't allow dogs that can jump. My 32 pound Basenji jumped over their fence that separates the small dogs from the medium dogs because he wanted to play with my Lab/Akita in the yard next to him. Apparently my "small" dog that is "big" enough to jump over their "small" fence isn't "big" enough to play with the "medium" dogs. How ridiculous that sound? Well that was the explanation given to me. I have since taken my dogs to Dog Topia and not only are the fences tall enough to for my "smal" dog, but they felt he was "big" enough to play with the "medium" dogs. I have taken my dog here for 6 months for daycare. When my husband and I went on vacation we boarded the dogs for 7 days. When we picked them up, we noticed one dog was acting off. The very next morning not even 24 hours after bringing them home we rushed one to the vet. He had a respiratory infection and an ear infection so bad his ear was bleeding. After calling camp bow wow to let them know what happened to our dog after spending 7 full days there, they only said they hope he gets better fast. No concern for their dirty facility, what caused our dog to get Ill or compensation back to us for the large vet bill or 600 boarding fee we just paid to them that harmed our dog in the end. I had them refund my remaining daycare packages and we won't be returning. I no longer recommend this facility to watch your furry family members. read more

Dropped off Bender for a overnight stay and can't thank these guys enough. I called several places here in town when we first got our new puppy last year. We needed a place to put him for a weekend that we would be away. Camp Bow did not hang up on me or tell me I'm a no good because I have a pitbull mix. They told me to bring him in for 20 min evaluation and all his proof of shots paperwork. Every other boarding place except "The Laundured Mutt" in Temecula I called told me no pit bull mix in our facility. That's lame. My dogs friendly not aggressive at all. They wouldn't even let me in the front door to evaluate my dog?? Go away doggie discriminator's I'll spend my cash at CBW & LM and tell everyone I know to do the same. So If the dogs are social and friendly then they can stay for their 3 hour evaluation or the whole day. Our rabid, vicious, and dangerous mutt passed all their tests and now when I go to pick him up they don't want to give him back to us. I will say that they do play like big dogs like to play in the big dog section. My dog comes home with war wounds every time. I don't freak out like I'm sure some do its just dogs being dogs. Our dog starts going nuts when we pull into their complex he can't wait to go play. Sleeps like a log for 12 hours after he gets home. We get a report card on how our dogs stay was. The camp counselors are absolutely wonderful dog loving individuals. No faking it here at this job. It's a dogs life all day for them but you can tell they love working there. They love the dogs. Easy pick up and drop. You can take their beds and chew toys and leave them in their "cabin's". Cool cameras you can view online for free and check on your dog in the play areas. My kids love checking in on Bendie....Seems like a great service for 45 a night. Don't tell them but I bet they could charge more and easily get it...I know we wouldn't think twice. read more

I took my dog here and she initially passed the interview. Then about two hours later we received a call that she failed the interview. The staff members told us she nipped another dog for barking at a different dog. I was shocked, because my dog goes to the dog park about five times a week and doesn't bark, bite, nip or chew. In fact, she runs and usually hides from barking dogs. They did say she would be able to be come back to Camp Bow Wow if we paid for their trainer to train her not to nip other dogs. I consulted my dog's trainer who told us to try a different dog day care. We did try a different day care and my dog passed with flying colors- no nipping any other dogs. So I'm not sure what happened. Perhaps they confused her with a different dog or wanted us to buy their training. I really don't know. read more

The staff is great and my fur child loves going. The downfall is that sometimes she comes home smelling awful like poop or pee. It gets worse when it rains. It wouldn't be bad if they offered to bathe her when that happens but they charge $51 extra for grooming and the groomer isn't always in. Had a bad boarding experience here with my dog. The franchise owner was very rude to me. The other staff member I encountered was nice. They were okay to my dog but they either didn't give him his medication right (as directed on label and paperwork) or someone stole some of the pills as many more were missing than should have been. The owner was very rude and argued with me about vaccine expiration dates. My dog also came home smelling like urine. As a veterinary professional I would never recommend this place or use them again. They are crazy expensive too. read more

Our 10 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Daisy May, loved her few days at Camp Bow Wow. She's a very socially shy puppy, but very rambunctious at home! We watched her on the webcams while we were away and the staff was always so loving with her since she gravitated towards them. I LOVE how we can spy on her playing all day long!
