BEWARE OF THIS BACKYARD BREEDER!!!! He sold me a very ill puppy and would not admit to her being…read moresick or take any responsibility. The day after I bought the puppy I took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with PDA, a very, very serious heart disorder that would kill her within a year if not treated. (by the way, treatment for this disorder ranges in the $3000 dollar range) I called this breeder and told him the diagnosis and he told me flat out "the puppy does not have PDA" and he refused to refund my money. Saying "hold on to her and she will be fine". That was a week ago and I have so far taken her in for an echocardiogram and verified that she does in fact have a PDA (which I have since found out is hereditary) and have scheduled surgery for her. (95% chance of recovery and healthy long life:) Per the Puppy Lemon Law I am in the process of going after this breeder for 150% of the purchase price of the puppy which he is in fact liable for (not even close to what we are spending to get her healthy). He has offered to refund my money if I bring the puppy back (after I informed him I was taking him to court of course) but this is not going to happen. She is a great little girl and we have become very attached to her and could not live with ourselves taking her back and knowing that she would not get the proper care that she deserves. DO NOT BUY ANY DOGS FROM THIS BREEDER!!!!!!! We need to shut down people like this that care more about money than the animals they breed!! OK lets comment on the reply this breeder just put up two years after the fact: Dear Customer , I did take full responsability and offered to refund your money right after you notified me that the puppy was ill ( this is total BS! The response I received from this guy was I quote " there is nothing wrong with the dog just wait a while and she will be fine" ) but you refused to bring her ( again total BS, the only reason I called the day after I bought her was to return her after two vet visits to confirm the PDA but you flat out refused ) because you said you were attached to her instead you wanted me to pay you $4000.00 (no I did not want $4000, per puppy lemon I was entitled to 150% of the purchase price of the puppy which you again refused to pay) in medical bills! That is not the way lemon law works ! This is one of the reason I decided to just breed older trained dogs instead of puppies this way I do all the check ups and will make sure I have enuff than to evaluate the overall health of the German shepher dog. It is really to bad you feel this way about my kennel! I also have past and present clients that are very satisfied that saw your comment and tried to post their opinion but for some reason their reviews were eliminated Sincerely, splitberg kennels You sir are a liar and the reason for the puppy laws that exist. I truly hope all who see this will rescue or at the very least find a reputable breeder instead of giving business to people of your type.

For many years we had 2 cats who required special care (medication [oral and injection], IV fluids, hand feeding). She was able to care for them when we were out of town. We never have to worry when she is on the job. We trust her completely. We love that she can come to our house and care for our animals. NEVER GO HERE. Absolute cash grab. They do not care about your pet!!!!!!…read moreThey gave us * False hope * Thousands in charges (2k) * A dying dog left suffering * A rushed search for another hospital * And still lost a beloved family member We came in about two weeks ago because our dog appeared to have food poisoning. The staff recommended a long list of treatments, and because this dog was family to us, we agreed to everything they suggested if it meant he had a chance to recover. Before approving nearly $2,000 worth of treatment, I repeatedly asked the veterinarian (a Hispanic male vet) what the chances were that our dog would survive with these treatments. Instead of being honest or transparent, he avoided the question every single time and refused to give any realistic expectations. They told us to come back at closing because our dog "needed extra treatment hours." We came back at 5 PM exactly as instructed. Then they pushed it again and told us to return at 7 PM because the "extra hours would really help." Naturally, we believed them. We thought our dog was improving. He wasn't. When we returned at 7 PM, the vet casually informed us that none of the treatments had worked and that we now needed to rush our dying dog to an emergency hospital to be euthanized because THEY were closing. So after wasting our entire day, draining us emotionally and financially, they suddenly decided there was nothing more they could do -- yet somehow couldn't tell us that earlier? They couldn't even provide humane end-of-life care for a suffering animal in their own clinic. To make matters worse, while my family was devastated and trying to process losing our dog, they still slipped random charges onto the bill, including a flea and tick collar that had absolutely nothing to do with the reason we came in. This place is disgusting. Completely unprofessional, dishonest, and emotionally manipulative. I would never trust them with another animal, and I genuinely hope nobody else has to experience what we went through.
