5 is a big deal, and this place deserves it! The food was amazing, and the service was great from the bar to the table! Just an amazing experience. I can't wait to come back to Providence to eat again! Top-notch!

We made a reservation at the earliest time. Got seated right away. This is our annual dinner celebration of a birthday. Our server Christopher seemed a little unfriendly. Not one smile was given. We have had a lot of different experiences with the servers here but they were all friendly and helpful. Also I think it is nice all the servers remember the special menu but I would like to see it print out on a piece of paper. The other staffs that ran away to collect our plate, filled our water and packed our takeout boxes were really nice. Calamari with banana peppers were excellent as always!!! Our entrees were Chicken parm with capellini in pink vodka sauce and the meatball on the side! Love the pink sauce, good creaminess and balance of flavor! Chicken parm with marinara sauce and meatball on the side! Everything was done well! When we asked for a bit of pink sauce because it didn't come with a lot of it on my plate... I wanna make sure I can still have some for the takeaway leftover. We got charged for $5 extra sauce? We were being informed for that. So that was a bit off putting. I have done that in the past before. But none of the waiter would charge me for a scoop of sauce. I didn't know it until I looked at the receipt to be honest. Dining experience is always something we enjoy coming to Camille's. I think the general manager George should know this. Thanks for the wonderful food. Hope next time, it will be better.

My mom always comes beforehand to decorate the table, but look at the view. It's always very beautiful and amazing here.

I've been here quite a few times, my sister likes to come here for her birthday and she reserves the upstairs private room area, so I've never been downstairs in the main restaurant so this is only speaking from the private room. But every time I come here the valet is absolutely professional and sweet and they work hard because the street the restaurant is on is very small. I recommend always doing valet here, because I mean it is Fed Hill good luck finding parking. The staircase up the stairs is nice and when you get upstairs it's absolutely Devine. The look of it is fancy, and it gives you that dim lit relaxed ambience. You always get an amazing personal server we had Micaiah which he was beyond amazing. Very attentive, relaxed and patient- which is always appreciated when you have a big party. He treated everyone with respect and got all the orders correct and treated us well! Now to the food- I got a lobster tail with whipped potatoes oh my yummy! I miss them I want more. My sister got salmon and she never likes to finish it all because she always wants some for later but last night she ate it all it's very flavorful and yummy. Not one single guest complained about their order. The sizes are pretty decent. The food is very flavorful. And the presentation is amazing! And don't get me wrong. The prices can get very steep here but you pay for the ambience, you pay for the great service, and you pay for the atmosphere. So to me, I believe that that's a winner. You also have a private bathroom upstairs with you and your party use which is great to have is very close by. No other guests will be using it. It's extremely clean. They have a beautiful mirror in there and it's very well stocked. Every single time I've come here every server that I've had has been tremendously amazing they're always very kind and I cannot complain about the service at all. If you haven't been here, I would definitely give it a go, especially for like a date night something romantic or even just chill. The food is so worth it.

All around amazing. From the cocktails (if you love a sweet martini highly recommend the black cherry cosmo) to the dessert definitely a 5 star experience. The apps were amazing (highly recommend the cannellini bean dish) and every single person in my party loved their entrées. However, our favorite was definitely the ravioloni cacio e pepe. Highly highly recommend!!

Camille's is an Italian Cuisine restaurant on Federal Hill it does offer valet. The food is fine dining so you will pay a bit more. The alcoholic drinks are not watered down. The servers are always so polite. The ambiance is sophisticated. The upstairs is for larger parties the design is beautifully done. My daughter has had her annual birthday dinner her a few years in a row they are nice enough to let me arrive an hour or two prior to dinner to set the table with decorations ( if there are no parties before ours).

Still a fantastic place for dinner on the hill. Took my youngest daughter was dinner- best tiramisu she's has ever had. Great service as always.

Vitello Alla Parmigiano

If you're looking for authentic Italian-American classic dishes on Federal Hill, Camille's recipes are the perfect way to satisfy that craving. I had the Oysters Rockefeller and Veal Parm, my friend ate the Arancini di Roso and Chicken Francese. The veal and chicken cutlets were perfectly crispy but the meat was still tender enough to cut and chew easily, their gravy isn't too spicy or salty. The oysters were fresh and delicate with buttery flavor and the arancini had a comforting texture with bold flavor. I indulged in two glasses of Prosecco and my friend had two Bikini Martinis. Curtis, our waiter gave us fantastic service. In fact, I requested him for mine and my husband's upcoming date night in the upstairs dining room by the window. Thank you Camille's!

Stuffed artichoke

I do a lot of research before picking a restaurant, and dinner at Camille's in Providence proved to be an excellent choice. We went with a family-style approach and started with carpaccio, calamari, and stuffed artichokes--all delicious. For salads, we had both the Caesar and the Burrata Caprese. For the main course, we shared a veal chop, pounded thin and transformed into an extraordinary veal Parmesan--tender, flavorful, and generously portioned.... HUGE-- share it! We also added the Pasta Aglio e Olio, which was phenomenal--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We capped off the meal with a slice of homemade cheesecake that didn't disappoint--rich, creamy, and a perfect finish. But the highlight of the evening was the service--absolutely over the top. Kudos to Danny, who went above and beyond to make our night special.

Food 10 Service 12…read moreAmbience 10 We love this place We enjoy the experience every time on date night

On my third and final city of my Rhode Island tour on October 24, 2026, I came to Providence, Rhode…read moreIsland. Just a note, you need to make a reservation because this place gets packed, even if you're the only one coming in. I wanted a reservation right before I needed to park for WaterFire, but they didn't have any in the 4 o'clock hour open, I had to book for 3:00 instead. This was also the only stop on my tour that was recommended to me by someone else. Every other place I had either chosen myself or had only had help from AI to formulate a plan for. Though the person who recommended me this place while I was work told me about Terry, I was helped by Charlotte which was fine by me. This allowed me to have a more unbiased service and makes this review a more fair one. I will say that finding parking for this place, or even trying to get here in Providence, was a nightmare. Everywhere I went, every car seemed to want to crash into mine, and the GPS even played their part in trying to kill me coming here. Yeah, apparently it's against the law to try and come here alive if you're driving. But thankfully I survived that, and I would say this place was worth the trouble, even though I would probably choose to go somewhere else next time if I want to find better places in Providence to drive to. The attire is business casual, so keep that in mind when dressing to come here. And it is an intimate spot, even though it can be a bit loud in here sometimes. But the service is worth coming here alone, and the casual atmosphere helps its case here. If you aren't driving, then this would be a great spot. I will also mention that you do have to climb a few steps to get to a bathroom, so if you have disabilities, this place isn't all that ADA-friendly. They serve a complimentary bread basket and I got water served to me from a pitcher though you can also have a bottle served to you. They even light the candle on the table, so this lunch was a nice candlelit affair if I do say so myself. I also ordered the Apple Cider Sangria for my drink since it was a fall special. That said, I could only have that one because, again, I still had to drive later, and that includes a 2-hour night drive all the way back to Connecticut. Plus, I was going to get more libations at WaterFire, so that was more reason not to go more than one on the sangria. If not for those things, I absolutely would have ordered at least one more sangria! It was delicious! The sliced apples served with the drink were green. The bread basket had a hard crust that you could still bite your way down and a soft bread inside. For an appetizer, it will get the job done. And it was complimentary which was nice. For food, I only went with the shrimp scampi this time around. There was going to be more to eat at WaterFire, and I did also have Viiny's Kitchen in Wickford and a lobster roll in Newport before coming here, so I kept my food choices at this restaurant more muted than I would have otherwise. The reason this was the dish I went with was because I wanted to continue on with the theme of Rhode Island seafood, but I did come very close to ordering the fig ravioli since it was a special they had and sounded like it was really tasty. This was a delicate decision that required some extra time for me to pick. I did have another waitress add some extra black pepper to my scampi, and then made a LOT of difference! It was already good on its own, but the extra black pepper elevated it into something special. Overall, a good place to eat if you're not driving. The driving portion was what brought this down to a 3, but it's still a 3 and a half if anything. I would probably pick another place to eat if I find myself in Providence again, but I will still recommend this place if you're looking for good Italian food and great service. Just make a reservation, and, if you're driving, try not to get killed coming here.

We have friends in the area who had heard of the place, but had never gone, so we made a reservation (2.5 months ahead for a 4 some on a Friday, so it must be special...) and finally got to see what the fuss was about. (Still wondering.) We started with what ended up being a high point, "beets and frites." A very interesting take with a lot of frites, not enough beets (5 slices under the stack), and about 2 tablespoons of the lemon aioli. The few tastes of the 3-part combination were great. The frites, crisp and soooo thin, were good on their own. The olive oil that came with the bread was very green (young), with a strong flavor but I was surprised that there was no pepper grinder. I had the (special) cod, which came with a lazy prep of broccoli rabe and OK potatoes. The fish was cooked well, moist and fresh, but I'm still not sure what the flavorless green topping was. Our table also had oxtail ravioli, which consisted of tasty little purses of thin pasta and nicely flavored meat inside. (Probably the best entree, and gained the second star.) The eggplant was unremarkable in terms of flavor of the sauce, and the veggies that went into it did not seem to be very fresh. For dessert, we had rhubarb peach tart and chocolate bread pudding. The tart was mostly crust and very shy on the rhubarb. The bread pudding apparently used Hershey's chocolate powder which was not a great flavor and left a grainy texture. The server was not very friendly, somewhat pushy, and insisted that we order the dessert when we ordered everything else. Allegedly, this was because the dessert is made to order, but we had the impression that it was to expedite our table time. Even so, with all that "careful planning" only 3 of the 4 entrees made an entry and we waited quite a while for the 4th to show up, even after asking. Overall, not a good experience and not a place I'll plan to revisit.

Our server, Dwight, seemed rushed and inattentive throughout the evening. From the start, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. We asked if we could move to a nearby table that was already set for eight, as our current table was cramped and located in a very tight walkway where people constantly brushed past us. We were told the table was reserved, yet from the time we arrived just before 6:00 PM until we left at 8:45 PM, no one was ever seated there. It was frustrating, especially since the cramped space made our dining experience uncomfortable. Service overall was lacking. Dwight rarely checked on us, and when we tried to get his attention for drinks or assistance, he would quickly pass by before we had the chance to ask. It often felt like we were bothering him. We were not offered water, and getting additional beverages was unnecessarily difficult. The food itself was just okay, nothing memorable. When we ordered dessert and cappuccino, the cappuccino tasted like it was made with spoiled milk, but again, no one came back to check on us, so we had no opportunity to address it. The most disappointing moment was the birthday acknowledgment. We asked for a dessert with a candle to celebrate an 85th birthday, and instead received a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, a small amount of whipped cream, and a candle. It was underwhelming and, honestly, a bit embarrassing. We would have gladly paid for a proper dessert. Jacob the busser was the only attentive one there. We have come to Pane e Vino every year for family birthdays because we've always enjoyed the atmosphere, but after this experience, we will not be returning.
