This was my first time coming to this Fresco location. The bar is very large and there are plenty of bartenders. The bartenders here are all great people and they have a following. We sat at the bar and were very happy with our seats. They have a decent selection of wines and an extensive martini list. I got the tenderloin tip special that came with a mushroom demi glaze, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The portion size was large and the tips came out cooked medium. I ordered them medium rare so next time I will order them medium rare +. The grilled feta salad was fantastic. It was made with 2 kinds of whole olives with the pits in them, 2 large pieces of feta, and the tomatoes, red onion, cucumbers and lettuce were very fresh and ripe. I really liked the salad dressing (vinaigrette type). The oversized stuffy was ok, but I wouldn't get it again. Maybe I got a dud out of the batch? The stuffing was good, but it was nothing more than celery and onion. Unfortunately, there were no clams or seafood in the stuffy. For $8, I wish I went to Dave's Market for 2 stuffies. read more

We had dinner, yesterday, at Fresco on Comstock Pkwy in Cranston. It was spectacular, in every way! The ambiance is lovely - very classy and not noisy (thankfully)! The waitstaff is top-notch! I like that every race and ethnicity is represented in their waitstaff!!!!! Everyone was friendly, welcoming, polite and professional. We started with their delicious crispy yet soft bread and yummy dip. Then, we had an eggplant appetizer with delicious chunks of tomato. My dinner companion enjoyed the Bolognese pasta dish, and I loved every morsel of the short rib tagliatelle! For dessert we enjoyed the salted caramel gelato and the bomba spumoni. Everything we tasted was perfect! I have not enjoyed dining at the other two Fresco restaurants, in East Greenwich or, especially the lousy one in West Warwick (too noisy, cramped and lousy, unfriendly service). Cranston has been blessed with great institutions of Italian food of various quality, price, and quantity levels. Fresco delivers on the best veal parmigiana anywhere, it is very consistent and good value for the portion. Also great foccacia bread with spicy olive oil dipping with your meal. It can get a bit loud due to regulars that are dining at the large bar, but makes for an atmosphere with nice energy. There is a large dining room off to the side for a private party, we reserved it once for my dad's 80th. Service is great, drinks are great.....all around a dependable and wonderful experience. Not a large menu-food is good. Medium size portions for the most part. Slightly pricey for the area but do recommend if you are entertaining. They do accept reservations and are recommended on the weekends. Nice bar area. Clean and well maintained. Service is good. Give them a try. read more

We have visited Fresco numerous times and are always happy with our meal. Entree sizes are large, so we typically leave with leftovers. The atmosphere is upscale casual, so it's a nice place to celebrate a special occasion. Prices are very reasonable. The spicy tuna tower is so yummy! My favorite entree is the chicken and eggplant napoleon and I'm very picky with ordering chicken at a restaurant. Finishing off the meal with an espresso martini is a must! First time at Fresco and it easily made the list of restaurants we return to. Travis was our server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, very polite and professional with attention to detail. They offer a very extensive menu - including gluten free choices. Our meal was delicious from the appetizer to dessert (which we took to go). This is a busy location for a reason! My husband and I frequent Fresco, usually to partake in their Monday Night Special, and it is wonderful to have this option close to home when we don't feel like cooking. Situated in an industrial area, this restaurant has a cozy feel to it once you're inside. The parking fills fast around here... I'm not sure I've ever gotten to park in the lot and always find myself out on the street. Highly recommend reservations - they are a piece of cake to make online. Their Monday Night Dinner Special for 2 is a fantastic deal. Bread for the table with cheese and oil. Shared bottle of wine, choice of mixed greens or Caesar salad, and an entree for $45. Their chicken parmesan is my favorite item of this menu by far with a close 2nd being the chicken marsala. You can't go wrong with the rigatoni bolognese or the salmon either. The only option I haven't really cared for was the baked scrod as there wasn't much flavor. Their red sauce though, is delightful! read more

The food was excellent (baked scrod and salmon) but the service was superior. Our waiter (Travis) was very attentive and friendly while he was quite professional. My wife and I stopped in there Thursday night. The place was dead. Nobody at the tables and plenty of seats at the bar. We sat down at the bar to have some food and a beer. The bartender ignored us for about 5 minutes while he had conversations with 3 other guests within about 5 feet of us. Never acknowledged us or offered a menu. We left. I've enjoyed Fresco in East Greenwich But this was my first time visiting the Cranston location. We were seated promptly and the wonderful server took our drink order and also provided a wonderful basket of bread with dipping oil. My son had the shrimp scampi which wasn't reallyon the menu but they accommodated him. Pasta was perfectly al dented and nicely grilled shrimp on top. My daughter had the usual pasta with pink vodka sauce and she loved it. I had a fabulous steak cooked medium rare along with vegetables and mashed potatoes. They used a special sauce on mistaken it was truly exceptional. I am definitely a fan of the Fresco locations and you will be too! read more

The co reviewer and I decided to try Fresco after several unsuccessful attempts. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable and the staff does a excellent job keeping it Covid safe. They do a thorough job cleaning every table after each party. They also have the plexiglass partitions between tables. We had the chicken parmigiana and the steak tips over risotto. Both meals flavorful and nicely cooked. The cutlet was very large. Service was very good. We will be back when we are in the area. read more

Went to dinner at Cranston location for 1st time , was expecting it to be similar to North Smithfield- not even close. It was a 5pm reservation, early enough where it wasn't busy. Was sat at a table that I literally had to squeeze myself between two tables to sit against the wall, when I asked for a booth that was clearly empty. Tables are so close you eat with strangers. The waiter had to be ine of the worst- definitely didn't want to be working on a Friday night. Put bread on the table , no can I get you anything else all through dinner. Ordered calamari- it's RI and amazes me how many people don't know correct way to cook it. The rings were like elastic bands, large thin and rubbery. Couldn't eat it, my poor husband choked it down. We order it all the time and this was far from top 10. Waiter grabs the bread basket - doesn't ask of we would like more bread- my husband asked me- as Waiter walked away he comments your getting calamari you can snack on that!! Are you kidding me. Rudest waiter ever! Need yo train the kids before they ruin the restaurant. Got a Caesar salad because after the calamari and waiter i figured can get worse. I got a bowl of chopped lettuce, far from fresh. After dinner wasnt asked ifcwe wanted dessert, got check, no Thank you from waiter. It had to be one of the worst dinners for first time at this location, im surprised at all the 5 star reviews. Wont be going back. North Smithfield is a much better location. Booked a reservation online for 3 people this past Friday - very easy process, even got a text to confirm the reservation. Got there around 6pm, our waitress, Marissa was awesome. Very knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered calamari for an app - we didn't know which one we wanted, so she suggested we get it plain and the 3 different sauces on the side - this way the calamari stays crispy. What a great idea! We got the balsamic reduction, marina and a lemon garlic butter. I dipped into all 3 and they were all good! Great suggestion! I had a half order of risotto with chicken (still good size portion for only a half order at $9!). The others ordered short ribs and the chicken milanese special. My risotto was good but felt it could've used a bit more seasoning. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Everyone else liked their meals. Nice modern setup with good size bar. Clientele was a mix between older couples and families as I guess that's what the community is filled with (Western Cranston). Wouldn't mind trying again but would also like to try the EG location which I hear is just as good if not better. read more

This place is amazing! We got the arancini, calamari, salmon, and pork chop meals. Each one was better than the last. The calamari was crispy, not soggy. The salmon was so flaky and deliciously seasoned. I even had a tiramisu martini that came with an actual lady finger. First time a hit, second time a big MISS. My wife and I had been there once before and had great food and excellent service. Today we decided to go for lunch. The servers (we had three) were courteous and polite. Where they missed the mark was the quality of the food. After we both had the Chicken Parm (no issues), we decided to get desert to go and settled on the Tiramisu. My wife takes a bite of hers and produces a strange look and starts smelling the cake. I take a bite of mine and realize it's beyond stale... in fact both our pieces contained mold!! It amazes me that such a simple thing of checking the food does not occur in a restaurant. We did call and the manager on duty stated they would refund the cost of the Tiramisu. We will not be going back and recommend that if you do, you inspect the food. We also joked when they sat us about how dirty the blinds were. Should have been a cue to head to the hills. Update: About four hours later my wife received a voicemail from the manager and was informed we would receive a full refund for the meal. Went last night to Cranston location for my wife's birthday. Place is elegant busy but not too crowded. Food and service was excellent! I had onion rings special appetizertizer they were not greasy and came with a great dipping sauce. Had chicken marsala for main course. Best marsala I ever had portions were plenty and great flavor I could barely finish! Wife had roasted beet salad and veal piccata and she enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend!! read more

This place has tons of space. Great for big parties or just a good place for an intimate date. The service was very friendly and really knew the regulars. Yes the "regulars" which indicates a friendly welcoming establishment. The food was tasty with good size portions. The bread is served warm with a tasty olive oil to dip in. The red sauce is a light pomodoro sauce not a gravy. I really liked the stuffed chicken and eggplant. The risotto was a bit Aldente and could use a bit more cheese. However delicious none-the-less. I did see the meatball and Caesar dish and definitely will return to taste it. Overall an experience here was a bit pricey but worth it. I will dine here again. read more

Update: I have now been to this Fresco location several times and I'm happy to bump my rating up another star. The service is always great, the food is always on point. From drinks and apps at the bar, to full dinner service while seated in the dinning room, my friends I have never left disappointed! Our last outing included prosciutto wrapped burrata, lobster ravioli, and short rib tagliatelle. We had some martinis and a delicious glass of Pinot noir as well. Always something that suits everyone's cravings! Our waiter that evening was an older gentleman, who said he had just started the week before (this was the 2nd wk December), but it didn't show at all bc he didn't skip a beat. If I could give a zero I would. Calamari was cold and hard. Battery has absolutely no flavor Meals were cold. Ordered s short rib pasta dish. My mom ordered short ribs on the side with a salad. TheyI popped an side dish filled with stringy looking meat that was dry and overcooked . They are not short rib meat. They were tough stringy and cold. I order short ribs many times at various restaurants and I've cooked them at home. They should melt in your mouth. Risotto had no flavor. It was some white rice and peas. Made our reservation right with the Yelp app. Could not get any easier. As soon as we opened the door the smell of deliciousness greeted us and we knew we were in for a good meal. We arrived a few minutes before our time and were seated right away. A small dish with a dipping oil and a mound of parm cheese in the middle is brought out with warm bread. The oil has a slight kick to it which really made it unique. Husband had a bolognese dish which he loved. I had a special scallop entree. Wrapped in bacon served with rice pilaf and a lemon sauce. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Atmosphere and decor really nice. Our first experience with this dining family was Divine in Warwick. Many of the same items on menu...one of which I've been dying to try. Goat cheese and caramelized onion grilled pizza! Will keep coming back to these great restaurants. We ordered Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixins from Fresco Cranston. The food was all beyond delicious! And the packaging was beautifully done! What a great treat to have such a wonderful meal right at home!! And no pots n pans to clean!! Thanks to Judi Church for doing such a terrific job of taking care to send us home with such a perfect delicious meal! The turkey was tender, stuffing and mashies and veg were all super fantastic!!
