I am not one to write a review on Yelp as I feel one bad experience may not be indicative of a company. However, I feel obligated with my experience with Camelback Moving. I moved from Phoenix area to the LA area and decided to use Camelback based off the great reviews. The price was relatively equal to other companies, but felt more comfortable with them when getting my quote. This was a big deal because we knew our stuff would be in storage for a few months, which was a scary thought. We decided to use Camelback to not only move and store our stuff, but to also pack for us. The moving out went fine. They were on time and very respectful while at our house. They did damage the foot of my bed, but promptly informed me. After a few months in storage, we had our stuff delivered out to California. When it arrived, there were numerous issues with not only our furniture, but how it was packed. Almost every piece of large furniture had damage to it. This includes, bed frame, dresser, chess and night stand. It looked like the furniture was not properly stored throughout the time it was with them. The dresser ever had a piece broken off and they glued it back on (as though we would not notice). Our couch has a broken leg as well. There were also fragile items from the house, that were not packed in fragile boxes OR wrapped with protective wrapping. You would think they wrap or protect these items so they would not be held responsible. Lastly, we had clothes shoved into boxes and not wardrobe boxes. A wardrobe box was used from my tools in the garage, but a regular box for dresses. How does that make any sense? Things were not all terrible. The lead of the crew on the pack, Chase, was great. Everything he did (he did our kitchen), was protected and packed great. It was the other members of his crew that were a huge disappointment. I do not like saying this because I love supporting local companies, but I would never use or recommend them to anyone. It has been a terrible experience. I never expected the move to go perfect, but never expected this much damage. read more

I did a lot of research when looking for a moving company and finally decided to go with Camelback Moving. I am so glad I did. I had three very kind guys come and help me move my things from an apartment only accessible by elevator to a two story townhouse. Neither moving out or in was easy but that did not stop them from doing an amazing job. Nothing was broken, nothing scratched. But I'm compelled to write this one for Camelback Moving because of how amazingly they handled this important event in my life. Like most everyone else, we have precious/delicate things - and things that are just plain awkward - and other stuff that I had no idea how it would get packed and moved. But my concerns about all of that vanished as soon as the crew showed up and took charge. They were all so great, I have to call them out. They were led by "the two Chris's" and then there was Matt, Barry, Danny and Toby. All are professional, polite, quick and strong (oh my gosh!!!). I used this moving company to move from one home to another. This is based on my experience and opinion about what happened. I saw one of the men drop one of my boxes - it fell off the handcart when he rested it. I found several things broken, including a fine statuette that was a gift from a family member. I took it to be repaired and found it would cost several hundred dollars to return it to its original condition. When I contacted the corporate office for Camelback Moving, I was informed that they only reimburse for broken items based on weight, which was nominal. I was very disappointed in the service and their response and could not recommend this group. read more

Update: I received a call from Chad, the president of the company, who was sincerely apologetic of the miss. He explained that this is their busy season, but then stated that there is no excuse for the delays in my follow up. In addition to a sincere apology, he issued a credit for the services I was displeased with, assured me that they will discuss and correct the issues that led to my frustrations, and even compensated me for the headache. He offered to send a crew out to fix the TV's, though I had already corrected them. All in all, I genuinely believe that this was an oversight that is not demonstrative of the experience that most have with this company. I'm therefore adjusting my star rating to reflect the end state of my dealings with Camelback moving. I will likely use them again the next time my family requires moving services due to the personal nature of the followup. TL;DR ... Moving services are good, avoid add on services and don't expect Larry to do anything but give you lip service. Don't get the tv mounting service!!! I'll start with the positives, and they are significant. The 2 moves I scheduled on consecutive weekends went very well, movers showed up on time, were professional, and took care in moving our belongings. All things you want from a moving company. The issues appear in the add on services. I was sold a floor protection package that included materials to lay out protective coverings on our floors and carpets. When the movers arrived, they started moving without laying down the coverings. When I asked, they said it really takes a lot of time, but they'd do it if I really wanted them to. They clearly didn't want the hassle. All said, this is trending towards a 3-4 star review, right? Enter the TV mounting service. I was also sold this on the phone. I was told that mounting hardware would be provided and there would be a $55/hr charge. I was good with all that, and stated that I had a mount, but they told me that it could not be used since had been mounted before. Ok, no big deal. The mounter guy shows up and immediately asks where all my mounts are. Clearly I didn't have any hardware since it was explained that all would be provided. He tells me that he'll go to Home Depot, but it'll cost me the hourly rate. Fine, I said...just please get it done. An hour later I get a call that they can't use their company account, so I need to drive down... In the middle of my move ... To pay for the hardware. I oblige and we make our way back to the house. It took him 4 hours to mount 4 TV's, all with pre run cable runs in the wall. TVs were all smudged, cables were hanging down, and 2 of the 4 were crooked. In addition, they took all the extra hardware that I literally just purchased. Larry, their customer service guy, called me after each move. Both times I tell him that I'm not too pleased with the add ons, the 2nd time he called, I asked him to look into it. Larry acted very concerned and told me he'd call back. That never happened. I called back twice and never received a call back. I never asked for refunded services or anything, though my expectation that dealing with a company of this caliber would yeild a degree of follow up. Extremely disappointing, and I would have rather just not have gotten a customer service call as opposed to some false concern and a failed commitment to follow up. For what this company charges, you'd be better going with someone else. There are plenty of reputable companies in the valley who won't put you through the ringer. Happy hunting... read more

Moving with Camelback was easy! Reached out for a quote through Yelp and got a prompt response with lots of details. Customer Service was very helpful getting the move set up. Movers called the morning of the move as promised and showed up ready to work just when they said they would! My daughters were moving from a first floor, two bedroom apartment to a third floor two bedroom. Zac, Juan and Victor were on the job. Zac walked me through the paperwork and then he and the guys got right to it. They worked quickly and took great care with all the furniture and boxes. They make quick work of loading everything up. After an exhausting search of a moving company to assist us with moving from Ca to Az I came across Camelback Miving. From the minute I first spoke to "Tina" I began to gain a sense of confidence with this company. She was extremely knowledgeable and competent in providing me with answers to the many questions I had. She set me up with Steve in logistics who assIsted me with a video inventory/ walk through of our property whIch was to be moved. Ours was not a straight forward move it was a two- stop move with specific conditions for each stop. They got it RIGHT no problems. On the day of the move they sent Lance who was a master at handling our precious possessions without any breakage and without any loss. He was so helpful and courteous. Our quote was reasonable, precise ( no add'l charges), the communication was excellent, they arrived on time, they delivered what they promised, and the people on their team were extremely competent ! I hired Camelback Moving during the middle of February 2013. From the initial phone call of scheduling the move to the guys who moved my furniture, they were personable, professional and made me feel at ease. The office staff communicates with the customers in a timely manner and I never felt out of the loop. I was given a morning timeline between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. The guys arrived at 8:30 am. They were professional and got the job done. Even with moving my contents to a 3rd floor unit, nothing was damaged (items or structure) and the time frame it took for them to complete was reasonable. Anthony coordinates everything for us and they did exactly what they said they would do. He also dealt with all of my "panics" since we had been I our house for 25 years. We contracted for packing as well as the move. The team that packed was amazing and completed it all in a day. They were on time, efficient and pleasant. They dealt with 3 dogs supervising. Same for team unloading in Scottsdale. I also contracted on two different days for help unpacking. The unpacking teams did more in 3 hours than I could do in 3 days. After searching the web, I settled on Camelback Moving. Called about two weeks ahead for a saturday move. My move was scheduled for noon and they called about 10:15am asking to come early as they had already finished their earlier job. I was not ready, so they got lunch and arrived around 11:15am. My move took about 4 hours which was more than I expected, however, I was moving from a 3 story townhome so I guess acceptable. Jake and Chris helped me out, showed up with a 24 foot truck and did a very good job. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a moving company. Updated from my previous review to add one more star. I was very surprised that camelback moving contacted me after I posted my review. Even after 6 months they wanted to make things right. I wasn't able to give my feedback directly after the move, which is what they do to see if there were any issues or to see if the move was excellent, but they were able to take my feedback and explained that possibly the men were having an off day. Camelback moving offered to re-adjust the rate that was more consistent with my expectations based on the first move. I've never experienced such great customer service and will likely re-try their services for another move. read more

These guys did a great job with a difficult move. We had been in the same place for 11 years and thoughts we were prepared for the move. We kept finding more stuff and filled up two 24' trucks! The team did their best cirque du soleil impression getting our giant fridge where it needed to go in the new house, without damaging it. Used them for a July move after several other moves with a different company. They have great follow up, show up on time, and handled the move with care and professionalism. The only issue is cost, as they were about $400-$500 more than expected, and I know it is hot in July, but I think it definitely took a couple hours longer then expected. Would use again, but prefer the old days of knowing the price before the move starts. read more
