If you've moved as much as I have you're an expert mover and negotiator of moving costs etc., and are always on the lookout for those mysterious hidden fees that appear once you've finished the move. We were so lucky to have Alex, Arnold and their team move us from Fountain Hills to Chandler. Please note the word THEY. They called the day before the move. They called us 30 minutes before their arrival on the day of our move. They professionally packed a 3400 plus square foot house into two trucks, drove about 45 minutes to the next location and unloaded everything in the right place without breaking or damaging one thing. Let me tell you that this company does a really good job hiring good people and training them. We moved out of our apartment this past Saturday and the team did a great job in packing all small items and loading them as well as large, heavy ones. This go around was the team of Solomon, Marcus and Moses. They were phenomenal and very professional! These gentleman jived so well, as if they grew up together and worked as a team for many years. So far we've had at least $6000 in losses. It's hard to tell since we aren't completely unpacked but our missing sterling flatware contained in the some pieces dating back to the back 1800's. Our most expensive pieces of furniture have been broken in one way or another. (Pieces broken off of a coffee table, a washstand from England with a side broken and the list goes on) Never in our wildest dreams did we think about things being stolen--broken maybe but not stolen. A very professional company, and none of our belongings were damaged. We checked out a few movers in the metro Phoenix area before deciding on Camelback Moving and were very happy with their service. We needed three movers to offload a 26-foot U-Haul rental truck. We budgeted for 4 hours to do it, but it only took them 2 hours and 15 minutes. We only got charged for the lesser amount of time. The crew were very polite and professional. We did notice some black shoe marks left on the living room carpet by a TV stand, though. All along the way (both before and after the offloading) someone from the company phoned us to update us. When they phoned after the move to see how things went, I told them about the fresh shoe marks. They never argued with me. Instead, they had a cleaner from Stanley Steamer come out at a day and time of our convenience to ensure the marks were removed. No extra charge to us. Used Camelback Moving's services this past week and they were incredible. Our 3 movers were Mike R., Terron, and Jason T. They worked incredibly hard from the time they showed up to the time they left which ended up being around 8 hours or so. They were extremely nice and efficient. Not only did they help us move but also helped with installing a new TV on a stand and a washer and dryer. Hired these guys to do a move from one side of the valley to the other. Reasonable prices if you choose one of their promo days and very good communication of their fee structure. There was a bit of what i perceived to be sneaky billing practices they tried to slip in and the last second, but when i voiced my concern they made it right by crediting me back a half hour of time. My advice, this is a good company (I've used a few movers and this one seemed the best believe it or not) but it seems to be common practice among most moving companies to milk the clock and this was no exception. Use your smartphone to document the time you are signing the paperwork and the time you finish in a video that includes the clock and you will be billed fairly in the event of a dispute. The movers were very nice, efficient during the move, and took care of my stuff. Overall i would recommend this place for their overall customer service and making things right after the fact but i would be remiss in not mentioning the billing issue here. If I could give this company 10 stars I would... I have used them for several moves over the last 15 years and 100% of the time they are amazing!! From Chad to the movers everyone is friendly, helpful and hard working. Today we had Terrance, Lance, Erik and Devon, they moved a 2900 Sq foot house in 7 hours!! No surprise charges, nothing extra, the bill was exactly as we expected. They took care of our stuff as if it was their own, consulting us every step of the way. I love the "off-peak" moving days that are discounted - it worked well for us and we saved money for sure! On move day, Eddie and his friendly team arrived on time and worked diligently through the day to get us loaded up. They didn't waste time, and were always in motion. We recently used Camelback Moving when our daughter moved. The move required multiple stops and a second floor condo. The movers we had were Jesus & Juan and I couldn't have been more satisfied. They were on time, professional, friendly, and took great care with our items. Scheduling was easy and there were follow up calls to confirm the appointment. On the day of the move our movers called to give us a heads up they were on their way and again when they had arrived. My previous experiences with other moving companies were quite different. Our move took much longer than any of us expected but these two men couldn't have been more tolerant. Not a single grumble was heard even though it had been an arduous move. So I hired this company in January, I did get a discount rate for know a real estate agent. The company was efficient itself they called me a day before letting me know when the movers where going to come. They also offered help with packing if I needed it which is great. This company just needs to hire better movers. I have heavy stuff and the movers where going up 3 flights of stairs but still that's there job and what there getting paid to do. But most of my items have nicks and chucks of wood missing from certain pieces and I let someone know after they did the follow up call after you move in like two days after. They asked me how everything went and I told them they messed up my furniture they said they would look into it and never called me back. read more

I'm a little disappointed with the experience we had with Camelback movers. I chose them because of their awesome reviews on Yelp and wasn't impressed. We were moving across country and had our whole house packed up and ready to go when the movers arrived. All we needed them to do was help us wrap and few items and move our heavy furniture and boxes down to our moving truck. First of all, both my husband and I thought they were a little slow considering pretty much everything was ready for them to move when they arrived. A few of the movers kept arguing with each other on what the best way to move the items was, which didn't help with their timeliness. 2nd one of movers started carrying our biggest flat screen tv by himself on one of his shoulder (screen side pressing into his shoulder). This made me SUPER anxious considering both my husband had a hard time lifting it together, let alone one guy doing it solo. The kicker on this was that he left the tv leaning up against a trash can outside in the middle of summer (it was 110 outside) for like 30 min before I had to ask them to move it. Any professional would know that A) you should never carry a tv like that B) you never have it leaning on anything without it be standing straight up C) you should NEVER leave a TV outside in 110 degree weather for an extended period of time. 3rd we had given the movers clear and direct instructions on how to properly move a few VERY expensive barber chairs as soon as they showed up. Since those were our main concern besides a few pieces of furniture we were very detailed on how we wanted them moved. Sure enough they didn't follow the directions my husband had given them and tipped the chairs and spilt hydrologic fluid all over the ground and barber chair (the oil ended up staining the cement outside the HOA office and we got fined for it). Thankfully, my husband caught them moving the chairs incorrectly right away and only one of the chairs lost its fluid. 4th one of the movers dropped a bed frame which fell hit a kitchen table, which then ended up causing the table to fall over and smack the cement which left various deep indentions in the side table. (This table also wasn't cheap) --see photos 5th a few boxes that were clearly labeled "fragile" were placed on the bottom and when we went to unpacked the boxes were completely smashed. Thank god I left our most important and fragile items till the end for us to pack on our own. All in all I'd say we didn't have a great experience with this company. If you do use them, I'd suggest you being there monitoring them while they move your more valuable items. The guys themselves were very nice, just too bad they weren't all on the same page. read more

Always an issue and never professional. Three amazing guys showed up. Professional, ethical and kind. They all worked directly for Camelback Moving- unlike other companies who told us they only use their own employees when really they use Craigslist at the last minute to find people). REVIEW UPDATE: I just had to come back to tell you that this company moved my mom this month. They offered stellar service as expected and the move went off without a hitch. They're still consistently amazing. We paid in cash, and it was a big move. We had six guys in total and a semi. It was expensive but it was worth it and I wouldn't have changed a thing. After we settled up on the price, the guys were on their way and we got to relax and start unpacking. We hadn't even torn into the first box before there was a knock at the door. It was the moving crew foreman and he asked to come in since it was about money. He came in and offered a sincere apology that he did the numbers wrong and that (are you ready for this!?) HE owed US $500 back! We were obviously thrilled that we had this money but mostly astounded that they were so honest to bring the money back! I'm certain that any lesser company out there would have kept the cash as a tip and we wouldn't have known any different. Fantastic! Thanks again to Chad and his awesome team. I hired these guys to move us last August; it was the best choice I could have made! The crew was so professional, they showed up with their own water/Gatorade/ snacks, and I have never seen movers hustle like my crew did. We had three guys and one truck. One of the crew wanted music and asked politely if it was okay to plug in his phone to play some- whatever gets the job done friend! I was so delighted to see how meticulously they packed and wrapped everything for us. My husband is a computer guy and they took extreme care with all of our computer and AV equipment. They understood what was delicate and asked how we would like them to handle the special stuff. I could go on about how polite and considerate they were but I think you have the idea now. As I mentioned, we moved in August which was a murderously hot day but I didn't see any of them even miss a step. This company employs tough people who power through anything to get the job done. Now If it being August wasn't bad enough, my new house has a basement in it with stairs that turn at a 90 degree angle. I'd imagine it was a hard move for them to complete. The guys the sent us were seriously three Herculean men because even the basement stairs were another obstacle that was nothing! When we first arrived to the new house, they rolled out a literal red carpet to protect the wood floors from being damaged. Firstly, the quote and reservation process was smooth and efficient. I got a hold of someone right away, without any wait. Pricing was fair and accurate and there was no hassle with availability. I had a great move with Camelback moving. I did it on one of the discounted days, so the rate was lower than most days. My movers came at the very beginning of the designated time window and were really efficient with the move. It took 3 hours to move my apartment, and when we got to the new place they made sure everything was where I needed it. Only complaint I would have is with the main office. These guys rock! This is my second local move with them and it went super smooth and in less time then I planned for. They lay down mats and cover door corners to prevent damage to furniture and property. They are also very thorough with questions and logistics. They also wrap couches in plastic before moving them. Tip: when you call and schedule your move let them go through their list of questions and just check things off because they are too busy to deviate from their template. If you follow the flow things go super smooth. Also read their forms online before hand so you can quickly answer their questions. They are quick I will say that! The guys were nice but hasty. I packed everything snugly so nothing would get damaged and they did damage some wine glasses. They were in and out of my house quickly and on two floors to a storage unit on the second floor. I don't think the price is for the service was quite exactly what I was looking for. I had about one room full of stuff to move and moved some of my own stuff so it wasn't a full house of boxes to move. For the price I paid it wasn't worth it for me to feel unsure if something would be broken when I unpacked my boxes. read more

I was originally scheduled with another moving company who cancelled on me 2 weeks before my scheduled move. That left me trying to find a replacement on Memorial Day for 2 weeks out. I was looking for a company to move my 2bedroom from the 3rd floor into my moving truck so I could drive it out of state, as well as lower my massive couch over the balcony as it doesn't fit through the front entry. I received a call within an hour of my request from Dan and they were available for the date I needed. He suggested 3 men and advised it would likely take 2-3 hours. I did have to reach out to them for confirmation the day prior but that's ok. They called the morning of asking if they could come early as their prior job was done early. The 3 got right to work and were great with wrapping everything and took great care of it all. It was the first time I've hired movers and to get out of the way I stayed in the kitchen drinking my beer just answering questions if they had any. They loaded up my truck and made sure it was packed and stabilized for my drive through the mountains from AZ to CO. I also received a call from their team a few days later to ensure everything went smooth. Most companies call it quits after the job is done so that was a nice added touch. There were no hidden fees and it took 2.5 hours. I am extremely happy with their work. In the past 40+ years as an adult I have moved 16 times including local and inter-state moves. Some were done by myself, some were done by commercial movers paid for by me, and some were done as commercial moves paid for by my employer. Camelback was by far the best moving experience I have ever had and I would highly recommend them.
