On November 7, 2025 we were quoted $51 for a 10 x 10, online contract. It failed, likely because, despite a long career in operating systems, hardware specifying and buying, database development, our experience was a fail. We lost the $51 rate. It went to $76 a week later. When I step to the counter, systems are inevitably down or processing slow or.... Public Storage.com would not accept the payment of two potential payees. The interface provided no reasons or guidance. But I am sure it was me, The User's fault. I was the guy in the Helpdesk Joke who thought the CD reader tray was a coffee cup rest.... In 1981 I did not know a 5" floppy disk needed formatting before use. The most valuable Help Desk tip ever - at that time. I give myself a 1 on Public Storage. com. Found the data collected by our first Assistance call, and sent us to an employee that finished us up, was patient as we connected tothe proper payer, and got the unit rented. My advice, stay away from the digital-only side of this house and connect with Real Intelligence - Office employees or Dial up assistance. Concluding, I can give my who Public Storage experience a 3. We did have a cart for our unloading, you must locate an employee to unlock the bathroom. The coded security gate worked well - once we got the code. Unit rental fees wentvfrom $51 to $76. Also, this has got to be the best real estate investment going - as long as we Pigeons of Life can afford the charges. read more

The area is shady with train tracks and a cannabis shop across the street. Vagrants and vagabonds must feel right at home. YOUR STORAGE UNITS ARE NOT SAFE AT THIS LOCATION FROM PEOPLE OR POTENTIALLY FIRE. YOUR MONTHLY RATE WILL GO UP. YOUR CONTRACT IS ONLY MONTH-TO-MONTH. My unit was rented online sight unseen. Well, guess what, the insulation was hanging from the ceiling and touching the lightbulb. I asked the manager if that was a fire hazard. He told me no. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) thinks otherwise! Despite the gates, locks, lights, and codes, units are being compromised, broken into, and items viewed piece by piece. This means that someone has a unit inside the property AND has the luxury of time to enter the property and explore units. Cameras are few and far between, but seriously, what would they be able to do with that evidence? YOUR PRECIOUS BELONGINGS WON'T BE RETURNED FROM A THIEF !!! As I made my 2nd trip to the unit, 3 men from a nearby unit told me NOT to unload my belongings because their unit was broken into TWICE already. They also told me that their rent went up steadily every month. When I returned to my car to retrieve my phone, I ran into 3 college women who told me that their unit was also broken into, belongings viewed piece by piece, and some things were stolen. My items are precious and valuable--not dorm supplies. I CALLED CORPORATE ON THE PHONE TO GET A REFUND. They don't do refunds for any reason whatsoever. The phone agent expedited my case, but, after holding for 26 minutes, conveniently and "coincidentally," the call dropped. The phone agent told me that had I called within 24 hours, I could have gotten a new unit at a different location. The on-site managers did NOT tell me this despite it clearly obvious that (a) I was not happy with my unit or security (b) I am a single 40s fat woman-- alone and coulda used a helping hand (c) I was under a time crunch The phone agent told me that managers are NOT trained on this "courtesy" that Public Storage Corporate Office extends to clients. The only courtesy I got from the managers was to refund my lock & key. read more

I've been using Public Storage for about 18 months now and the monthly rate is going up again for the second time! I called when this happened the first time and the excuse was that it was due to "industry needs" I'm not happy with this at all. Sure, the special moving in was great, the unit is clean and all but to go from $48 to $63 and now $75 a month is not how you keep customers. read more

Public storage is not customer friendly! We have been storing misc items for the past year and a half and our monthly fee has gone up 3 times!! The office manager offered to check with her manager about a rate decrease when I called to let her know we were moving because we could not afford the increased fee. It was denied stating we were under market value. Which I believe is BS since I've been shopping around and found cheaper rates. Don't let the FREE move in fool you. It's just the hook to get people signed up, only to raise the fees again and again. Hopefully a mom and pop type place really values their customers. read more

There are no security cameras within the halls. My unit was broken into everything of value stolen (items that are quit large and easily distinguishable on video). They called me and told me the unit door was "tampered with" which did not sound like it would have been someone took the door off for a long enough period to remove 3/4 of the contents of my 5x10. When I made a police report; the officer informed me this happens at least weekly here and they don't catch anyone. read more

They still charge for storage insurance despite of already having renters' insurance. Client has to be proactive and cancel online, otherwise they'll keep charging. Storing stuff from college apartment. While the set up and move in were easy as well as the app, I would give the move out a1 star. There were no carts whatsoever for the two days I was moving out so I had to do it manually with my daughter and 2 1/2 weeks after hip replacement surgery. There was no one available to talk to and while I left messages no returned calls. On Thursday no one was in the office though hours said 9:30 am start , I left facility at 10:20 and still no one to talk too. The next day still no carts so I had to manually do it and finally when I left I checked with the front desk regarding no carts or dollys as promised , the owner manager said they broke and it takes time to get new ones???? Meanwhile colleges in the area are moving in this week and next , they shouldn't count on a cart or dolly I guess! Unsecure facility and unresponsive! Do not store your stuff here. Our unit was broken into and no one called us. Everything was taken!!! The price went up twice while we were renting. We had to store stuff after a family tragedy and because of covid we were unable to get back for several moths. Only to make a special trip back across the country to find everything gone. Yes, covered by insurance but can not replace some items and we would have had a better chance of recovery maybe if we were notified when it happened and if they had some sort of security. There was a leak in the ceiling... I have renters insurance and it covers my belongings while in storage,however, is having a little compassion and empathy too much to ask for? I told the front desk of my situation and she asked if I had coverage because I didn't have it through them... When I put things in storage there's a general understanding that the facility will be of somewhat good standing so leaks won't happen at the first sight of rain... No "sorry, no "we'll look into what happened and see if maybe there's something we can do...." Absolutely nothing. Of course what was ruined were my important papers such as birth certificates and tax info. There's a limit on renters insurance for those kind of items of about 200... Somethings can't be replaced like letters (one from my dying aunt) Just awful... SHAME ON YOU PUBLIC STORAGE! PS: the people next to me were moving their items out and asked if I had a leak- they had the same experience of customer service from the front desk- then the front desk reminded them there wasn't a dolly to haul their ruined items.... I been with public storage over 3 years and my price went up alot I have a 10x30 and just recently I missed 1 payment and I had to pay 3 times what my rent was I had to buy a new lock and none even considered how long I been with them I requested at least some incentive to keep my stuff there but nothing from them over 3 years and if you miss just once they cut your lock and make you purchase another one before they remove Theirs. read more

When I first rented here the gates were open until 9pm and the rent was reasonable. Now hours have been reduced and usually there's no on in the office. This is inconvenient at best. The hours are posted. If you can open the gate and don't need anything great! Used to be 2 carts near the elevator. Now no carts. Had a new lock put on but they couldn't tell me when the job would be done so it was hit and mostly miss. Friendly and helpful at move in. Move out also easy because I notified them online. read more

Deceiving Practice. Rented a 5x10 unit for college student. Found the storage by searching online. While the prices seemed reasonable, I found those "hidden" costs get people. The first month should be $1, with an initial admin fee of $24. Total $25, right? Then each month would have cost $40 (considering a 15% online discount). All good until then. Send the college kid to "view" the unit and to secure the unit. I had already spoken to a lady (will not say her name yet) who insisted the kid went soon to lock the space. Sure. I had explained the unit will not be needed until the end of April. No problem. What became the issue? The consider the reservation month the $1 month! Ridiculous. On top, there is a mandatory $15 per month for insurance. What? seriously? paid $25 admin, plus $15 first month for an empty space? In May I will be charged $40, plus $15, plus taxes. What should be in any honest business be what's budgeted, they get you with surprises. This I will have to check with the BBB. Not okay being fooled by deceiving practices. read more
