My rental rate doubled after 3 months. That seems predatory. My locker was infested by rats. They chewed through a plastic container leaving clothes that were shredded and ruined. I discovered a dead one in the container and as you can imagine the smell was atrocious. It took a long while before I could eliminate that odor. There were rat droppings and shredded material throughout the locker. The staff seemed helpful and friendly. Indication is management is aware of the rat problem but it remains unresolved. We pre-booked on March but discovered the smallest locker was too small. Staff allowed us to use the credit to get a larger locker (although it was too big based on our needs we took it). Staff took us on a tour of the space, explained the use of passcode and the elevator. They also provide your lock for your unit. The only blip I had was weeks after we rented I received an email that they were "inspecting" locks to ensure no food is being stored in the unit and they would replace our lock with a new one and send us the key? read more

The pros: incredibly easy and seamless to set up a new unit through the web interface. No human contact required. Very competitive introductory rates. Easy access to the units, relatively clean and secure. For the price you're quoted, the value is definitely there. If you're looking for very short term storage (under 6 months), I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. The cons: Expect an unannounced 50% price increase after 5 months (prepaying for your 6th month). My unit went from $135 per month to $204 with absolutely zero notice - other than my credit card being charged $70 more. If you're on auto pay and on a tight budget, consider yourself warned in advance. Additionally, I tendered notice to move out three days prior to my EasyPay payment, and was charged for a full month. The website clearly states that written intent to move out only requires payment for the two weeks following - now I need to wrestle with management to get a refund. My unit was fully vacated and empty upon notice of move out. Incredibly frustrating to have to fight with a company to leave, after unannounced price hikes. Yes, the storage is good, but the administrative service is still somewhere in the last century. Be aware that your rate WILL go up shortly after move in, and be aware that you will need to spend extra time on your end to get moved out. read more

I hate to do this and even to take the time to write a review, but I do it to save others from this experience. This company/location is one of the many storage businesses that offer promotional deals and a "month to month" no-commitment policy to deceive potential customers. They offer a rate but reserve the right to increase their rates based on "market changes and cost of living." The pictures I include in this review are screenshots I took on 4/2/2023 from the promotional offers posted online. I have a 5 x 10 unit, and they increased the rate of my unit from $59 to $114 (last week of March) while they are offering a similar rate to the one I was provided originally. This company sells itself as "The self-storage facility you can trust," while this practice is disappointing and unethical. Apparently, this is a common practice in storage families, which take advantage of the law and their customer's trust to make money. They require insurance policies (which they sell), and demand to use the locks they sell. I couldn't find one self-storage business that offered a fixed rate, which is a type of collusion (secret agreement with a deceitful purpose). I wrote this angrily and disappointed because I was excited to have more space to enjoy at home. I'm sure, many need to rent this space and are chained to the "new rate" because they can't pay the additional moving expenses or, even worse, they don't have anywhere to put them. I don't recommend using this company or any other chain that will allow such practice at any of their locations. The company includes many five stars reviews, but I couldn't find the area to post a review myself, so my suggestion would be to do your research on the side. BEWARE OF THE EXTRA SPACE STORAGE LOCATION ON 7TH ST and INDIAN SCHOOL. THEY ARE INFESTED WITH RATS!! BEFORE YOU RENT ASK ABOUT THEIR RAT INFESTATION!! I have pictures and videos of the savage the rats did to my things and the storage would not accept responsibility!!! They doubled my rent after only a few months so I went to move my things out of the unit and there was an EXPLOSION of rat droppings and mess throughout the entire unit. As I unpacked the boxes, when I got to the middle of the unit I saw a huge 3 to 4 inch hole in one of my boxes and a huge pile of shredded paper (which turned out to be a book that the rat ate through). This was no small mouse hole, from the size of the hole and the poo, this joker was huge, or it's a lot of them, or both!! I was too scared to remove the rest of my things because the unit was contaminated. I waited until the next day to report it to the office and they A ABSOLUTELY did not care. Brandon, the GM told me that they know that they have a rat infestation but since I didn't purchase the insurance that they would not recoup and of the items that were ruined by the rats! He was also EXTREMELY RUDE and said he would sweep the rat droppings out of the unit but he could not mov bring my boxes out of the unit to the hallway for me. He said if he touched any of my things he would take them straight to the trash!! Bottom line, if you are renting here, you should move your things ASAP!! I will say that my experience with this facility since I have been here has exceeded my expectations considering the age of the facility. I was unsure how it would work out, but I want to recognize the manager for his efforts. I see his stress at times and most recently the last few days regarding elevators and have seen him take the brunt of some customers reactions and yet, he still goes out to lend a hand without even a customer asking. Horrible location they dirtied my couch and mattress. I only signed up for a single month then i move out and they charge me for the second month! meanwhile I'm waiting on their insurance that they FORCE you to pay for and they don't cover anything. By far the best storage experience I've ever had (and I've had some scary ones). From the moment I contacted them via telephone, the level of customer service has been superb. I'd use this facility over and over again if I had to and would highly recommend this faculty with no hesitation. I hear so many good things about the manager, Kimberly but never had a chance to meet her because I only used the storage space for about 2 and a half weeks. One thing .. there was a man practically living in his storage unit just a few doors down from mine. I saw him shaving his legs, and picking lint from between his toes once while picking up a few things. On another occasion I caught him "freshen up" in the bathroom downstairs. There's lots of weirdos in the area, I was warned about this in the beginning when I signed up for a unit so I was okay with noticing a few "weird" things when visiting. read more

Echo the 1-star reviews from others here. This place is cramped, dirty, hot inside (swamp coolers don't keep up), and expensive. Increases in rent happen without notice. There is no restroom available outside of office hours. I just moved out and all of my possessions were covered in a thick layer of dirt. Moved to the new Life Storage on 16th st and Osborn and HIGHLY recommend it as an alternative to this dump--super clean, temperature is VERY cool inside, loading area is huge and access is through motion activated double sliding doors. A word to the wise should be sufficient. These people are a bunch of bloodsucker$. They increase your rent quite frequently. First increase came just a few weeks after I rented the unit. There have been several increases since then occurring two or three times a year and they give you very short notice. On several occasions, no advance notice has been given. This is my last month with them. I'm moving to StorQuest just a half block away on north 7th street & Indian School Road. I've been paying just shy of $100 a month for a 5' x 5' unit for quite some time now and StorQuest has a 5' x 10' for less than $60 and the 1st month is free. The physical establishment is clean, comfortable in temperature and presentable in appearance. Access is simple enough. Then there's the staff. When I rented the unit (June 2012) I had a great experience with the young man who showed me around and filled out my contract with me. The kid gave great "face", as it were. And then. In the initial work-up, I made it Very Effing Clear that email was my preferred contact method because I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize, The End. Kiddo says "hey, no problem, we'll totally email you if we need to get hold of you for anything." Fast foward several months to the rate change I wasn't made aware of. Then fast forward a couple more months to the NastyGram I got in via regular mail saying "We're gonna auction off all your shit if you don't pay us"... except the money was no longer in my account as it had been sent to them via automated bill-pay. So I call them and attempted to address the issue. Hahaha. The person on the phone (Terry, female) seemed to have difficulty comprehending my words - I explained the situation from my POV and she not only disregarded what I said but interrupted me several times in order to do it. I freely admit I lost my patience (and nearly my temper) with her. The situation is mostly resolved now, but I promise I am moving out of there next month because you will get a lot of lip service but not a lot of follow-through from this organization... and the new place less than a mile from my house is $50 a month cheaper for more space and a U-haul to move it all with. :) read more

Sadly, this storage facility would get 5 stars, since I like the facility, management, and staff; but can't do it in good conscious since there exists the ongoing propensity to raise the monthly storage fee every several months or so. It happened the first time shortly after I moved my items in-I believe the rule is after 6 months-then again some months later; causing me to reevaluate my unit and downsize to a smaller unit. I cut my rate in half; however, within 6 month after that, there was another "hike" in my rate by $10 per month that began a couple months ago. Of course, I was livid. I had a space with Public Storage on 32nd St. and Shea for nearly 2 years with never an increase in my monthly rate. I know, I know I should have headed right back when I needed storage again. I have learned all storage facilities are not created even close to equal. It is certain that the "fee increases" are cited in their arduous and lengthy contract; however, that is not received, via email, until AFTER you secure the storage unit. Anyone that has moved and/or stored items knows it is a huge pain! So does this storage facility. You are notified about the "fee increase" a month out, which does not give the average person a lot of time to look for another storage, coordinate the move, and just get their head around the whole moving experience so soon after moving their items in! It is my opinion that this organization knows this psychological dynamic and uses that knowledge to have rolling "fee increases," with short notice (to get at least one increase), that of course increases their revenue, while the customer gets no increased services or benefits. I am going to get my head around the move, and hopefully find a storage (I'll check with Public Storage again) that has a guaranteed rate for at least a year. Last, but certainly not least, it is not YELP that this company cares about with regard to reviews, I was told the "head office" pays attention to reviews posted on Google+; wholly ignorant to the power of YELP. read more

Fast, easy and convenient! I had previously rented with Extra Space Storage in Albuquerque (2014) and their customer service there was really exceptional--same here in Phoenix! The fact that you can choose from either air-conditioned or regular units makes a HUGE difference. Also, the numerous cameras monitoring the facility adds that extra layer of safety. I forgot the young man's name who helped me (I know he's from Riverside, California) but I do know that he was very thorough and professional; it's nice to see customer service being promoted in a positive way! read more
