WARNING: DO NOT BUY HERE! THE STAFF ARE SHADY AND THE OWNER DOES NOT CARE. We recently bought a Kia Telluride from Camelbak Kia after extensive research on the model. As a previous Kia owner, we expected a great sales experience. Unfortunately, it was not even close. In our negotiations, we said we were open to whatever method of payment (cash, loan, etc.) that would give us the best price and help the dealership in their metrics. When we reached an agreeable number, we test drove the car and decided to purchase as long as the dealership repaired a tear in one seat. This is when things went downhill. While going over the paperwork with the sales person, we suddenly learned the price required a loan with a nearly 6% interest rate. At no point in our previous negotiations were any stipulations mentioned. We asked for the finance manager. This is when things got ugly. Robert, the finance manager, came in and immediately started arguing with us. He insisted certain stipulations were always included, but it wasn't necessary for him to explain it to the sales person. He also argued that we should take that rate because we were "just going to pay it off right away anyway." He gloated that most people do not come into the dealership as educated as we were about financing. We continued to negotiate, but at one point, Robert threw his hands up and told us we "could just leave." We probably SHOULD have except that we had spent most of the day there with our 3yo and we needed a car because we had just been forced to repatriate from a foreign assignment due to my recent cancer diagnosis. Between COVID-19 and starting chemo, we didn't want to go to multiple dealerships. Finally we came to an agreement and went to sign papers with the finance associate who (although sweet) did not understand an amortization schedule. We agreed to finish the paperwork the next day so we could bring proof of insurance and residence--which she agreed could be an insurance card since we were temporarily staying with my mom. The next day, we arrived to finish the paperwork and pick up our car. The car, supposedly detailed and the seat repaired, was still dirty. The seat appeared to have been "repaired" with white out and was still torn. Plus, we found a cracked panel. They gave us an IOU for the repairs and promised to clean the car while we signed our paperwork. Returning to the finance associate's office, she accepted our proof of address. While going over the Truth in Lending, we asked about the first payment date to avoid interest accrual. She left to find out and Robert stormed in and rudely argued that we could not pay off the loan--even though he knew we were planning to do so-- before 4 months because Kia Camelbak would lose $1k. He again told us we could just leave. We asked that he not be allowed back into the room. A week later, we received a call from Kia Finance asking for our current address. We gave it to them and then received a call from Camelbak Kia saying we needed to provide proof of our old and new addresses. Suddenly the insurance card wasn't enough anymore. We said there wasn't anything we could do because we were staying with my mom while we sorted our our new living situation. Then Robert called back threatening to repossess our car. We said, send us the bill and we will pay the entire thing off right now. He said no, I'm sending a repo man and hung up. Finally, Robert's "boss" called and, surprise, had what she needed and "congrats on our new Kia!" We asked to speak with the owner, Mr. Esposito, to give us reassurance that nothing would happen to our car if we brought it back for repairs. He has not returned our multiple calls. Now, we are stuck--we need repairs owed to us but are afraid to bring our car to a place where the staff threatened us for no cause. This was one of the best new car buying experiences I've ever had. After calling several dealerships to find the car I was looking for and dealing with a lot of run around about wanting me to come in and talk about prices, Jarred Johnson took my call and we got right to business. I told him the number I wanted and was told he could no way meet that, but would get me a quote and we'd talk over if we can make a deal. Literally we spent about 20-30 min on the phone in total (about 2 to 3 calls) and came to a very reasonable deal on a new Kia Niro. I walked into the dealership, there was no further negotiations or haggling. Just sign papers and then talked to Maurice in finance. We went over a few options he had for me and about 40 min later I was out the door. Total time at the dealership less than 3 hours, this was a bit longer because I was 4th inline due to the number of people already signing papers. Honestly, I think Jared just got a customer for life. Fun exciting energy kind of guy with no BS attitude. A massively welcomed change from the normal run around. Yes there were still some dealer add on products to the deal, but we negotiated those costs and I walked away happy. Go in prepared, talk to Jared and be reasonable by all means. read more

As a single female, it's very hard to buy a car. Normally you were treated very poorly and easily take advantage of. Last night I contacted the dealership through the web to ask if a car was available. I promptly recieved an email that it was; did I want to come in that evening or the next day to view it? So, via email, I made an 8:30am appt. with the sales person to view it. He confirmed our appointment. It took us 45 minutes to drive to Camelback Kia We arrived and I asked for the sales person. He was not in, noone knew when/if he would be in. Further, the car we drove 45 minutes to look at, buy, was NOT EVEN ON THE LOT!!!! They offered to sell us a different car and then buy it back when they recieved the car we wanted.... They wanted to call us when they got the model we were looking at in... NO THANK YOU! By far the worst dealership experience my first oil change only took 4hours to get done with an appointment. Now i go in for a check engine light and a supposed recall on my front rotors which Armando told me from my previous visit. The service department here is not great. Had my 2023 sportage in for service for a broken AC (which shouldn't even happen in a brand new car). They say they will call you and they don't. I was constantly chasing them for updates. When they finally figured out exactly the issue- parts were on back order so it had to stay for a week. And of course, they had no loaner cars to give me for my completely under warranty brand new car; very difficult to try and make it to work every day with no car and no back up. read more

**DISAPPOINTING UPDATE** We have always had such a positive experience here in the past, but not recently. Quite often we are called, emailed or text that we could "trade in" for a newer K5. 2 or 3 weeks ago we took them up on the invite, my husband was contacted by Tyrone. My husband text him let him know we were on our way, we get to the dealer and no Tyrone they call him nothing. So another salesman comes up and says Tyrone is always disappearing they have no idea where he is and the manager said some not-so-great things about this gentleman as well and the new guy says that the manager says he can take us. That in itself was off because what management talks about their employees in front of potential buyers. We continue with the new guy, we run numbers we weren't where we needed to be we part ways no big deal. Tyrone continues to call my husband, we continue to get calls on an optima we bought and traded in at said dealership over 5 years ago. My husband asks every time if we can get off the calling list we always get tossed around and they always say ok. Never happens. Today Tyrone calls my husband again, and my very impatient husband says looks no more calls and Tyrone HANGS UP on my husband. My husband calls back to speak to a manager, and he says "oh we are under construction calls drop" "how do you know he hung up on you?". By this time my husband has had several conversations with them between 15 to 20 min calls and not one drops? He returns our concerns with combative lines and never helps resolve our issue accept come back to buy another car. I am not saying the customer is always right, but the constant turnover, the lack of communication within the company itself, and the disrespect we have experienced is so sad. We used to enjoy coming here we enjoyed the people and even if we didn't buy we always enjoyed our time. I think for us it's time we take the loan on our car to our credit union, so we no longer pay kia directly and our third kia will be purchased elsewhere. This may not mean anything to you camelback kia but if you continue to operate with this rotating management and salesmen I am sure we won't be the only ones to go elsewhere. I brought my 2022 kia telluride for appointment on 11/25/2023 at 0700 am to check why it was dripping so much water. I suspected condensation since it's gotten cold but it was dripping so much water causing large amount of water dripping from driveway inside the garage creating large puddles. I'm an old guy so I've own numerous types of vehicles. This is the first Kia I've ever owned and since I have never seen this happen with my previous vehicles it got me worried that something might be wrong. When I walked in to drop my car a young lady whom I've never seen before working at the service said they will charge me $160 diagnostic. I informed her that my car is under warranty and I shouldn't have to pay. While waiting I received a text saying they found two faults which are alignment and throttle service. I can understand alignment but why would I need a throttle service when the car has about 15+k miles in it. I refused both service but what made me so mad that I decided to write this review is that when I went there my tires were perfectly fine but when I got my car back the sidewall of my tire had a large round deep tear. The service report I have states that they conducted a multipoint inspection of the vehicle and no mention of my tire being ripped. I also make it a point to check my car before bringing it to any shop. Luckily the tear was deep but not deep enough to cause a leak. I called the 800-333-4KIA(4542) customer service number and informed them, they gave me a case number but have not heard back from them. I even tried calling the camelback kia twice, explained to the operator what happened, she says she'll transfer me to service supervisor but kept being directed to voicemail which is full so can't even leave a message. Called the operator again and informed her the voicemail is full so she took my name and number and said someone will get back to me and still have not heard back from them. I have bought new tires already since I felt it was not safe to drive but if Kia really do care about their customers they should at least return my call and can even pretend to care and not only pretend to care when your buying a car from them. read more

Made an Appointment with Luis to come in around 8am today 6/10 to look at a used 21 Hyundai Elantra. The Night before I made sure to verify the car was still on premise, that it had gone thru inspection and was ready to purchase as I was ready to buy. I show up this morning only to be told Luis is running late, so a gentleman who never told me his name and was flirting with the receptionist was going to help me (he will be referenced as too tight shirt tattoo guy). The service department here is excellent, at least from my perspective. I've done business with them for about 3 years. I purchased a car here in December. The sales guy (Brandon) was good and seemed to do all he could for me. I'd recommend him. However, when I got to the dizzying part of the deal - the paperwork where I sign my life away, the finance person was chatting away, giving me a long series of papers to sign. Included and never mentioned to me was a $1200 charge for a warranty purchase that was added on to the price of the car. It was confusing because he tried to sell it to me and I said no I didn't want it. However, unknown to me, that was for an additional, extended warranty coverage. I thought I'd declined it altogether. Of course they didn't make that clear. Part of this was my fault, but not all of it. Unclear and purposefully hidden charges are not good business and have soured me on this dealer. I wrote to the person who kept asking for my evaluation of the purchase. Of course I told her what happened. Not a peep afterwards from this dealership. Therefore, I am done with Camelback Kia as far as purchases are concerned. If I could choose zero stars, I would. I had two safety recalls to be done on my Optima. I scheduled the appointment and when I arrived, I was told it would be "hours" to have the items addressed. I asked if it would be 2 hours or 8 and was told probably 2.5 hours. So I decided to work while I waited for my car. At the 3 hour point, I inquired as to when I could expect the car. Staff went out to the bays where the car was being worked on. After about 20 minutes, I was told that they just got the car in and it they would do the work as quickly as possible. At the 4 hour mark, I inquired again. Again, staff went out to the bays, another 20 minutes later, I was told it would be another 30 minutes. 40 minutes later, I asked again where my car was - out to the bays staff went, then "another 5 minutes", I was told. At 5 hours, and after throwing somewhat of a fit, the car was brought to me. I was offered a "free" oil change for the inconvenience. No, thank you. I was quickly ushered out to the car and sent on my way, only having me sign off on the paperwork. When I got to a place I could review the paperwork, I saw that a "Automobile Status Report" was attached (with the previous owner information included) and it stated in the "Multi-Point Inspection Form" that there were items needed to be performed on the vehicle that "Requires immediate attention". I had my car in the shop 2 days before to have it summer-ized so I knew that their report was utter BS. Today, I received a notice from Kia in the mail stating the recall work has still not been done. I went onto the Kia website to confirm that this was the case. Sure enough, there was one item that is still not done. I plan to buy a Telluride soon, but I will never go back to this dealership for service and certainly not to buy anything. P.S. After reading other's reviews, I see the service manager has a lot of apologies to hand out. Maybe spend that time fixing your crappy service and then you won't have to apologize so much. read more

The man who showed us the car was the ONLY good thing about this location. My brother-in law did not want to leave this review so I am. We went together just to look at used cars at this lot, however there was none. He ended up falling in love with an optima in the lot that was very expensice. THEY TOLD US THAT THE QUOTED RATE WOULDNT CHANGE but it did. They are liars. The process took more than 7 hours total. They didn't have water, they didn't have the best hospitality and we found that they really just took forever. We were not a priority there. The financial guy was so pushy and made me feel like I was dumb. I work in finances and am a student in business so he was trying to fool me. My brother-in law did follow through with everything. We finished and took the car. Then a few days later they called. They told us they sold us the wrong car and the car they let us take was one of their loaner cars and was a completely different vin number. The experience was a mess. Please avoid going here. Bad service. I purchased my 2023 Kia Sportage last year. Yes, it was an earlier release for a 2023 model. I've driven the car for around five months and I noticed the car abnormally shakes when pressing the break during high speed or downhill. I had it scheduled for repair twice but they never fixed the issue. They claimed nothing's going on and it was just my driving. They are absolutely useless. I went to Kia Avondale for the same issue and they were able to fix it. I will never bring my car again to this dealership for service nor purchase another car from them ever again. read more

They have not provided proof of the letter being sent and copies of the phone calls to them as requested when filed a complaint against them with the CFPC. They lie and now have ruined my credit that i have worked hard to get up. They threw the account into a charge off. They stated in 2/2023 they sent a letter because the insurance was all settled. However, if it was settled how did i have to mail them a check from the insurance on 5/8/23??? You have created a severe HARDSHIP on my and my family. I have bought three cars at this location. I planned on buying another one in a few months but I will not be coming back to this location. With that said, service department is amazing. Charlie is very customer service oriented and was doing his best to help me even though his hands were tied. When I bought this last car, they put a white wrap on top of it. I was told the beginning that this wrap was good for about five years. I had no idea they sent the car out to a separate company to have this done. Anyways, it's a little over two years later and the top of the wrap is starting to turn colors from the heat. That is completely understandable but when I took my car back to Kia they will not help me get it removed at all. The sales department who wouldn't even come out to talk to me. So you do everything to close the sale but you're not doing anything to keep me as a customer. I'm disappointed because obviously there's no loyalty. Noah did a fantastic job. He was on the phone when I arrived. The work was completed on time. My ONLY issue is the fact that even when your website knows I have a 2020 kia, it gives only prices for 2012 or older. The package I chose was $170.00 online, but Noah had to tell me it was $299 because my car was newer. Not a good place to put your own employee and not a good way to get me to use your services again. It's 2023, and your website could be a lot better. This was bordering on bate and switch. Nobody there can help me since this isn't a routine maintenance issue, so they said they would leave a message for their "service" advisor to call me. I never heard from anyone at the dealership. I called back on 3 other occasions and opted to be transferred to their sales department. Each time, the person in sales who answered said they would leave a message for their "service" team to call me and get this scheduled. Each message went unanswered. BEST SERVICE DEPARTMENT AROUND ! I am grateful to be doing business with this Kia dealership. Even after working with a handful of Kia dealerships in the valley, Camelback Kia is by far my favorite. ADRIAN in particular is very personable. He seems extremely knowledgable when it comes to automobiles and provided above and beyond service. My vehicle was assessed and repaired in a timely manner, while I drove a loaner car for roughly 3-5 days. The original quote for repairs was higher than what I paid in the end. They want to work for you! After being back in my vehicle for a few days, CRYSTAL was kind enough to retrieve a personal item that I left behind in the loaner vehicle. In addition the few times I've waited in their comfortable lobby, I was greeted by friendly staff and engaged in casual conversation with a salesman. I fully expected to write a bad review for Camelback Kia based on my general experience with other Kia dealerships and the low rating already listed here. However to my surprise Ali at Camelback was pleasant and easy to deal with from the start. There were a few hiccups with Camelback including; the vehicle hold process, the VIN number getting swapped around a few times on our paper work, a total cost error on the financial paperwork that we almost signed and having to fill out the credit app multiple times. The bottom line is they got us to the price we wanted and managed to include tint and a 4 year wear and tear warranty at no additional cost. We also didn't spend half a day at the dealership because we worked out most of the details over text, emails and a few calls. Our finance person was quick, professional and managed to get us the 4 year wear and tear warranty at no cost. Honestly this experience with Camelback was quite good, but I am also an experienced car shopper. My recommendation is to always work out your deal over the phone on a specific car before going into the dealership. Most dealerships will avoid sending (email/text) you a full price break down with MSRP, destination fee, tax, title, license, document fee, Etc. They all want you in the dealership so they can wear you down and confuse you to death. The sales manager started yelling at my husband when he demanded the back of our sons vehicle. Sales manager was rude and unprofessional. Do not go to this dealership! Kia the company has informed me that It has no oversight powers regarding individual dealerships, so I should address any complaint in a review. UNSAFE [COVID] & UNSCRUPULOUS 1. I bought my car here; I am very happy with it; the process was smooth. However, 2. Employees walk around unmasked, even as cases spike in AZ. An employee even came to my house unmasked to deliver a car for a test drive (and I had to give him a mask). Very unsafe Covid environment. 3. Karl Saknit, customer experience manager, is why I am writing this review. He emailed and called me numerous times after my purchase soliciting my answers to a survey, promising a free tank of gas for its completion. I filled out the survey honestly. When I went to collect the fill up, Karl told me that "since we have failed you, you are not a satisfied customer, so we cannot offer you the gas." (I had checked NO to the question of whether the salesperson had shown me the service department, which he had not). In essence, it was meant to be a quid pro quo situation, as opposed to a business improvement quest. Karl had gone so far as to send me an email with the answers he wanted. When I answered truthfully as the customer, it was met with hostility. Karl spoke to me from a distance of two feet with his mask tucked below his chin, as did the sales consultant. They both spoke aggressively about how my honest answer about objective facts cost the salesperson money. The whole thing was insincere, dishonest, bizarrely patronizing, and lame. Dishonesty is rarely an isolated thing, particularly when it is clearly institutional policy. So, I would not recommend this dealership. I had previously been very satisfied. read more
