The service was unfortunately very slow. We are in town for a conference and it took 45 minutes to get food even though we arrived before the lunch rush. The server was kind and the soup was yummy, but the 4 pizzas we ordered were cold and relatively hard by the time they arrived. One item wasn't delivered until we had all finished eating already. Maybe they weren't staff enough for a weekday lunch hour? But when you're across from a convention center having a large convention, that should be taken into consideration when staffing the restaurant when possible.

I love CPK!! This location was great and the service was amazing. I especially love dining at CPK with coworkers because they have really great lunch combos. And their portions are just right. I love their salads and basically all pizzas. They put a lot of basil on my Neapolitan burrata omg I loved it!! Such a good pizza!! I'll always be back!

Are you an anime fan? Welcome to the 21st Anime Los Angeles show at the Long Beach convention center! Time for lunch? The food trucks were with long lines and we did not want to eat at the convention center cafe or settle for the $10 hot dog by the street vender, so I picked CPK which is about 3 min walk from the convention center for a nice sit down lunch. I had fond memories of its pasta and pizza and was looking forward to the treats again. It was busy with large crowds from the anime show; it's surreal and fun to see and dine with people in cosplay costumes on a non-Halloween day. We were seated in about 20 min. My friend ordered the salmon which he commented being slightly overcooked. I was adventurous for ordering the cheese-less vegan avocado pizza, it's very healthy but the veggie topping cooled the hot pizza and made it less appetizing, it's a no for the next time. I loved the pea barley soup and the breads with olive oil dip. Servers were friendly and welcoming.

Look. If you HAVE to eat here, fine but if you can avoid it, do. The only pleasant thing about our afternoon was our seater/host. He was so nice, communicative, and friendly. *Our waiter basically came to our table like "what do you want." Like we were bothering him. *They were understaffed as there was a line out the door and tons of empty tables. *To help out my apathetic server, I went to the bar to ask for milk for my coffee, the bartender acted so bothered and gave me 1/2 a craft of milk. *The avocado eggs rolls tasted like char *The club pizza was somehow bland? *Also my coffee tasted burnt Overall, 1/10 only because our seater was awesome.

We visited California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach for Saturday lunch around 1 p.m., and we were seated right away, which was great. We tried the Habanero Carnitas Pizza ($20.99), which turned out surprisingly good. The Avocado Club Egg Rolls ($15.29) were tasty, though the chicken inside was a little dry for my taste. The Salmon Piccata ($25.99) was excellent--the salmon was very tender, and the pasta was beautifully prepared. The Steakhouse Salad ($22.99) was refreshing and flavorful, and the Sedona Tortilla Soup ($8.49) and the Dakota Pea Soup were also good. Overall, the food quality and taste were not bad at all. The service was excellent! Our server was very friendly and thoughtful, and she even gave us a table next to the TV so we could enjoy the show while eating. The prices are fair, especially for the portion sizes and variety. We'll definitely visit again and try some other dishes next time!

I was there to pickup a to go order I placed thru the app. I walked in and no one was at the reception desk and I saw the to go orders sign in the back so I headed over there. I was the only customer waiting and there was a guy with AirPods in his ears cutting food but didn't look up at me or say someone will be with me momentary. No greeting at all. Finally a lady came out and retrieved my order. Food was good and packaged well. Wish the staff was a little more welcoming. My first visit to this location in Long Beach.

I didn't take any pics of the food because I was too hungry LOL! But great solid spot and better than the NY location. We got the magherita pie, the spinach artichoke dip and the sweet teas. Soooo good and hit the spot! Also very home-y interior and the sweetest server. Very attentive but didn't feel rushed. We did have to wait 30 mins to get seated but no big deal

Went to this CPK after our bike rise. The ambiance at this location is by the beach front. A couple of blocks away, so gave that feeling of a california energetic day. Greeted and seated. Wait time was 30 mins. Ordered a hawaiian pizza, salad with chilli and adult beverages. Received them all within 15 mins. All was fresh, no complaints. Server was ok, could of been better. Overall, this location is acceptable. You have to walk from the parking structure to this restaurant which is a couple of blocks away. That is the only inconvenient thing about this location, unless you get lucky finding parking on the street. Cool place, alot of tourist. Good energy and good food.

Works Pizza!! Very good. Had the crispy thin crust.

Thunderbolt Pizza in Long Beach has become my go-to pizzeria. After trying a wide range of their…read moremenu, two dishes stand out above the rest: the Pizza Margherita and the Garlic Knots. Pizza Margherita - 5/5. This is a perfect example of the care and craft that go into their food. The crust strikes a rare balance - it has that signature leopard-spotted char and slight floppiness you'd expect from a Neapolitan-style pizza, but also delivers the chewiness and airy structure of a great New York-style slice. It never tips too far into being overly crispy or dry. What really sets it apart, though, is the sauce. While many pizzerias treat sauce as an afterthought, Thunderbolt clearly does not. Their tomato sauce is rich, vibrant, and juicy, with a depth of flavor that avoids being overly acidic, salty, or tannic. It enhances the pizza beautifully without overshadowing the dough, which is exactly how it should be. Garlic Knots - 5/5. - Easily some of the best I've had anywhere in LA. These are essentially bread rolls with a super chewy interior and a thin, lightly crusty exterior, served alongside their excellent marinara sauce. They're incredibly satisfying and consistently a crowd favorite. I've brought visitors from Japan, Germany, and New York, and every single one of them couldn't stop talking about these knots. My only small critique is that I wish they had used fresh garlic instead of canned, which would have taken them to an even higher level. Still, even as they are, they're outstanding. Overall, Thunderbolt Pizza delivers thoughtful, high-quality food that stands out in a crowded pizza scene. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to--not just because it's good, but because it's consistently memorable.

We also were there on Sunday, Mother's Day so I'm not sure if that played into it. We ended up parking in the neighborhood several blocks away and walked over, service dog in tow. Each of us ordered our own personal pizzas, with our own unique requests. Bruschetta: Tomatoes, Garlic, seasons with Salt, Pepper and EVOO. Mid week when we arrived which wasn't too crazy. There was no one on the patio which was nice as it gave us first choice for a seat...lol... Everyone was seating inside. The place itself isn't that big. You have the bar area with some bar seating. Then there's a couple of tables inside and of course the patio which is along the sidewalk. Personally I prefer sitting outside for the people watching. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. Places like that make the experiences more enjoyable. You want someone who is friendly and respectful. As we were there early, we grabbed one of the beer which they have quite a good selection on tap. There's also wine if you're not into beer. When it came time to grab some food, we were able to get a table inside. Majority of the breweries tends to serve pretty much the same things, pizza sandwiches and salads. No complaints here. Simple food goes a long way. There were a couple of us so we grabbed a few things to share. Started off with the pretzel balls with cheese dip and honey mustard and the chips with queso cheese dip. Pretzel was tasty and outdid the queso dip. Pizzas of course which were pretty big in sizes. A couple of the pizzas and a salad did four of us with leftovers. Their Hawaiian pizza was quite tasty and was finished. We also ordered one of the mushroom pizzas with an egg. It was tasty but a little on the salty side. The arugula salad was delicious. Simple but tasty. And then there was ham pizza I believe with onions and peppercini. That was also a favorite of the night. Overall, the place was quite fun. Not a big brewery and more intimate. The crowd was great and as most places are very kid and family friendly. There was couple of kids when we arrived. Service was great. We ordered a half and half pizza online for pickup and spent over $30 for pizza and a 4oz container of ranch. They told us it would be about 20min when we ordered so we got ready and left. We got there probably 15min after we ordered and grabbed two cokes while we waited. I tried to pay with cash and was told he might not have change to give me. I said that was ok even though it's pretty lame that you don't keep change in your register. He happened to find a very large coin bag and made me change. We were sitting right at the front and you couldn't miss us. They asked us a few times what our name for the order was and we told them the same thing every time. Finally after about 10 min they asked us for the 3rd time what our name was and then walked away. We could hear someone say "the order for Kymmy didn't leave they are here" or something along those lines. We kind of just looked at each other. The guy that rang us up came over and said, "sorry something happened to your pizza it'll be another 20min or so". At this point we had already been waiting about 15 min for the pizza. So we said ok because we were starving. One of the employees asked us if we drank wine we said no we didn't and that's why we were drinking cokes. He said, "ohh, okayyyy..." and gave us a very judgmental look. Like sir, you don't know why we aren't drinking. We also kind of figured he wanted to give us a few beverage for the mix up. But that was the end of it. We heard someone say our name and we asked if ours was ready and one girl acted like we were being impatient while waiting. Like we didn't just wait over a half hour for food. Finally our pizza was done after a total of 40 min and there was very minimal apology for the delay. We took it back to our hotel and we were so excited it smelled so amazing and it looked so good. I cannot tell you how disappointed we were when we took our first few bites. It was not that great. We had ordered pepperoni and the veggie pizza. We ate half of it because we were starving and very quickly regretted it. It made both of us super sick on top of everything else Needless to say we won't be back here and won't be recommending this place either

Overall, it was solid--sauce had good flavor, cheese was decent, and the dough was nice. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely a respectable slice. My only issue was the balance--there was a bit too much cheese for the crust, so even folding it New York-style, it didn't hold up well and kind of fell apart. A little more crisp on the bottom would've made a big difference. I also tried their Sicilian grandma-style focaccia pizza, and honestly, that was a huge letdown. It had this dusty, raw flour taste right away, was dry and spongy, and way overpowered with Parmesan. It just didn't come together at all--pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better. Ended up just picking at the cheese to salvage something. On the plus side, the service was friendly and the space itself is chill--nice casual vibe with a few tables inside and outside to hang out.
