If I could leave 0 stars I would.... An absolute nightmare! Tonight I went in the this establishment today to get a pizza. When I got home the pizza was UNCUT! Called the place and the person who answered the phone poor costumer service! The gentleman I spoke to was not only rude but trying to say I lied about the pizza not being cut. Tells me to bring it back. I live about 20 minutes away from fat tomato and I proceeded to drive back and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone proceeded to say that it was someone else who did the order,my partner then goes in to find out it was the same person who did our order! When he was asked who did we speak to on the phone he then lied and said it was a different employee when he was the only one there working! Takes back the pizza and then decides he was going to try to rip apart the pizza with his barehands!!!!!!!! To try to verify that the pizza was uncut. Absolutely ridiculous behavior! Poor costumer service! I've been coming here for a lil over a year since this is the only establishment near me that has a genuine gluten free dough and I have never had this experience with this establishment. Convenient, easy online ordering and cool staff. I'm at a 3.5 stars honestly because 1) for the price point, we thought it would be really good pizza. But 2) I will say that my personal gluten free crust pizza with vegan cheese and mushrooms did not get me sick! And that deserved five stars. The crust was thin so next time I would try a cauliflower one. There are definitely other spots who do gf crusts that are more doughy and chewy but that's not here. I walk down Broadway one night. There was a handwritten sign on the door in very sloppy writing. It said open late. This was odd. That place was never open late. I walk in and to my surprise Freddy is making pizzas. Freddy is the morning janitor at the LA Fitness on Carson and Cherry. He is deep cleaning the toilets. He's mopping the showers. He's in the trash with no gloves. Goto the gym. You will see. I can't unsee this. Freddy is handling the pizza also with no gloves. I don't know if this is a health code violation, but I can't eat the pizza here any longer. It taste good, but knowing the janitor at my gym who never wears gloves is deep in the crust is cringe. Also his customer service was horrible and English unintelligible, so did he fill out an application? Can he legally fill out an application? Why was the business open past regular hours? If anyone has gotten sick eating the pizza this allegedly might be the reason, but I'm not a doctor. Maybe, both business should care more about the customer. If you have not seen Freddy he's a balding white skinned Latino man with a dirty white baseball cap. I hope this helps but I can't go back until they changed cooks. Even if he quits LA Fitness. Such an unassuming spot from the outside. Glad I decided to stop in. The pizza was fresh and tasty. Got a small pepperoni to split with my partner. It was deliciously greasy and the cheese had the perfect sort of rubbery chew (which sounds terrible but I hope you know what I mean!). The sauce had a nice bit of herbaceous essence to it too. Wow! Been living in lb for 20 years and just found this place lol some of my friends always say this place is good. So I came in to check it out for myself. Kind of on the pricey side because a small 10" was $21. But totally worth it! I always get my pizzas well done. I ordered it over the phone. It went smooth. I arrived early and my pie was done.
