After I picked up my car, I noticed that the door closed correctly but the wind noise that was only present after the accident was still there. So a bit of a background on my story, I literally have a car from hell! Someone is always crashing into it (happened at 2 months when I bought it) or I'm crashing into someone! I left work early in the San Gabriel Valley to make sure I showed up before they closed to get one. Caliber bought out Squirty's Auto Body & Paint and that was one of my go to paint shops but, not any longer because I recently came in for an estimate and was treated rudely by the estimator ( tattooed Latina woman). I made an appointment for an estimate and they ignored me over an old Mexican gentleman who just walked in without an appointment after waiting for over 35 minutes. Then to add insult to injury was given an estimate that was over $1400 more than Critical Car Care & Westside Auto Body , plus I thought was south of the border ; they no longer has the professional attitude that Squirty's had . I recently had the opportunity to use this new local business due to an unfortunate event resulting in some cosmetic damage to my vehicle. Upon receiving a call that the vehicle was ready for pick up I went in to inspect the car, while inspecting the car I found some minor issues I wanted to be corrected(I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to my vehicles, most people wouldn't even have noticed the very minor issues). However the manager was very understanding and willing to take care of the issues to have my complete satisfaction. Due to the inspection being just before closing hey kept the vehicle over night to correct the issues the next day. I was then contacted the next day that the car was ready but due to my work schedule I would not be able to pick the car up and return my rental until the next day. At this point Danny and Ryan were extremely generous and offered to deliver my vehicle to me and return the rental for me due to the delay and get me back to my "rhythm of life" as soon as possible. Please read before deciding to have Caliber Collision repair your vehicle. After initiating a claim with my insurance company I took my car to Caliber Collision to get an estimate. My car was less than two months old and had 1,500 miles on the odometer. I decided to have a minor crease in the driver's side door repaired because it remained noticeable after a paint-less dent repair attempt. Caliber Collision inspected the defect and told me it would take one day to repair. The defect was circled with a marker and then a small free form area of the adjacent front fender was drawn to identify a paint blend area. Fifteen days later I took receipt of the car, with multiple issues still outstanding. Here's what happened: I was called the day after dropping my car off to let me know that my car was being reassembled and then had to be washed before pickup. About two hours later I was informed that there was dirt in the clear coat and it would have to be resprayed. I confirmed that this meant disassembling the car again, but it would be ready the following day before lunch. I was notified at 1:00 the following day that my car was still baking and then had to be reassembled (again) and washed before pickup. A few hours later I received a call saying that they can't match the paint color. Hmm... This string of contradictory communications raised a red flag so I asked to see the car. I was led out to the shop floor and I asked where my car was. They pointed to a vehicle that had the entire front bumper cover/grille assembly and headlight removed and the clear coat stripped from the entire left side of the vehicle - front fender, driver side door, and rear door! The two small areas that were circled when I dropped the car off had now grown to the entire side of my car being repainted. In disgust I told them I had to leave and walked out. The growth in repair area from what I was initially told was never communicated to me and I believe the "dirt in the clear coat" excuse was used to buy more time in trying to match the paint color without admitting their unsuccessful attempts. One week after dropping my car off for a one-day repair I was told it was ready for pickup. Upon inspection, I immediately noticed obvious problems with how the interior driver and rear door panels had been reattached to the doors. Thick foam insulation was sticking out of the top corner of the rear door and there were fasteners missing from the front door. I then noticed a dent in the driver's door sill rocker panel. So much for my car being ready for pickup - my car was not only hastily reassembled with absolutely no quality inspections performed, it now had additional damage that needed to be repaired before it was ready for pickup. After taking another week to fix all of these new issues I was told (again) that my vehicle was ready for pickup, along with a reminder that my $500 deductible payment would be due. Upon inspection, I verified that the dent in the driver's door sill rocker panel had been fixed and both interior door panels had been reinstalled correctly. However, I discovered clear coat flaws (dust/dirt) in the fender and both door panels. I also noted that the exterior lower plastic door molding was not sitting flush to the door panels and there were also tool marks in the plastic molding. The double-sided tape used by Caliber Collision to reinstall the lower door moldings was thicker than the OEM's preventing the moldings to sit flush with the door panels. The tool marks were obviously caused by carelessness and using the wrong tool to remove the moldings. I was also informed that they had replaced the driver's side mirror and the plastic upper garnish trim on both doors, and that they had taken the car to the local Subaru Dealership to have a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) reset. Not sure why they replaced the mirror because it had been removed in order to paint the driver's side door. Similarly, the plastic upper garnish door trim pieces were less than two months old and if properly masked, shouldn't have needed replacement. Regarding the DTC code - this is where another red flag got raised. I was told that my car came in with a DTC code. However, the first time I was told my car was ready it had not been taken to Subaru to have the code reset. It was only taken to Subaru after the first failed delivery attempt. Being informed that my car came in with a DTC set seemed suspicious so I contacted the Subaru service department for a copy of the repair order. It stated that "No DTC detected and all sensors are working properly". Even though there was no DTC code to reset, Caliber Collision submitted a supplemental bill to my insurance company for Subaru to reset a code that wasn't there, and to "Recalibrate Blind Spot System". I also verified with the Subaru service department that a DTC reset and recalibration were not performed, as they were unnecessary. read more

I tried to get my car fixed here. I'm so confused and scratching my head. I met with Steve when I got there, he seemed great and understood my concerns and told me he'd do research and call me back. I waited around 5 or 6 days for a return call but never got one back. I called and was told he was not in and l left a message. You know when you leave a message and you're pretty sure they didn't really write it down? That's how it felt and of course I never got a call back. I called again, he was out to lunch, I called again, he was there but then she got back on the line and told me his on another call, I told her I'd wait but ended up holding so long I had to hang up. I called again and he was unavailable. I just decided to go in. I didn't know if he was getting the messages and blew me off or if the front girl had a problem with me. Steve came out, said they were super busy and short handed, but never really found out who was blowing me off. Steve gave me his cell phone and said I could just deal with him. I decided I would let them work on my car, I had an appt for 11 am but Steve said to make an appt but bring it in whenever. I brought it in at 2pm and was told "your appt was at 11am" my goodness, Steve said "bring it in anytime but just make an appt." So, I have my granddaughter and a friend in the other car waiting for me, they took care of people that came in after me and the girl at the front desk just made me wait. I asked her how much longer, she said a couple mins, I waited a couple mins. I really needed to go, my friend had to get to work and my granddaughter was getting impatient. I asked how much longer, she said a few more mins, geez, what? waited, then finally I just had to go. This was ridiculous! I got my key and left. I texted Steve and told him I had to go, he never replied. I called and left a message, he never returned my call. I verified I called the correct number..just in case. What the heck happened??? I was going to let them work on my car but I guess I wasn't that important. Bummer. They NEED a new person at the front desk! read more
