Let me start by saying that this review is LONG over due. So, my apologies to Kristina and Jason…read more Last October, 2024 the side of my car was backed into in a parking lot. I reached out to CarWorks and Kristina replied almost immeadiatley to set up an estimate. Kristina was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She knew just as much about the repair that was going to be needed as she did the corrupt insurance company's that we had to rely on to get the repair done. My car was a 2018 Subaru Forester XT with 45,000 miles and in perfect condition. It was determind that the B Piller on the passenger's side was bent and needed to be replaced. Liberty Mutal and their appraiser 'Snapsheet' pushed to have the B Piller just repaired but at my request to have the car only repaired back to Subaru specs, Kristina wouldn't budge demanding that it be replaced. After 3 months of Kristina and myself going back and forth with Liberty Mutual, literally hundereds of emails and phone calls, they totalled the car. It was heartbreaking but at least there was going to be a resolution as Liberty Mutual was now refusing to pay for my rental car any longer. This seemed to a positive thing at least for me but CarWorks got screwed with this total. Liberty Mutual refused to pay and pick up the car from them, disputing storage fees that started the day my car got dropped off for repair. Liberty Mutual's postion was that they start paying the storage fees once the car is deemed totalled leaving CarWorks holding a $17,000 bag. After all of this Kristina still continued to help me navigate the closing of the claim. I cannot thank CarWorks enough for helping me navigate a really bad experience and learning lesson with car insurance company's. I absolutely recommend them if you need any sort of car body work done.

Jason was only interested in telling me about his extensive knowledge, how he had a Porsche (still not sure why that was important for me to know) and how he couldn't really tell me anything, nothing was their fault and all I could do is call my insurance company. He made fun of my frustration pointing out my hands were shaking and seemed to just want to win an argument in front of my wife and another man hanging out in the office. Jason seems to know very little about customer service, and could care less about the client. He was constantly interrupting me while complaining that I wasn't letting him talk enough. (At this point my wife literally walked out of the office in frustration) Jason did everything but refuse to give me a way to give me my car back. I'll be sure to update my review once this gets resolved. Jason cares a lot more about being clever and making you wrong than really listening or helping.

She assisted us with the inspection and walked us through the process , took photos and got us into a rental that day. As they (Carstar) insisted . Took about 4 weeks but the insurance deemed my car a total loss so we were going through our options deciding what to do. I got a call from Vanessa saying they needed me to make a decision on what to do with my car because they needed it moved to make room for other vehicles. I told her I'm still making my final decision (dealing with insurance settlement process). I was told by my insurance adjuster I could store the car at my house or storage while I made my decision so I opted into driving it home. THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET STICKY. I called Carstar to ask if it was okay for me to come get my car since I was only 15 minutes away and they were rushing me to get my car anyways. The guy on the phone said he didn't know and I would have to wait for Vanessa to call me back , fairly ill mannered and dismissive when we talked and didn't even say goodbye, just hung up on us.. whatever, we blew it off. I was a little confused and drove there in person. First thing to note, there weren't many cars in the lot like they were saying , 10 cars max in a giant dirt lot. When I saw my vehicle my car wasn't taking up or enclosed into any space. When I approached my car I noticed all of my windows were down about 20% open .. each and every one of them and there was tons of bugs, flowers, leaves, dirt and dust EVERYWHERE in our car.. completely ridiculous and absolutely no point in our windows being left open. For GOD knows how long.. IT WAS IN SHAMBLES and extremely filthy. My trunk looked like they just ripped everything out and just tossed it back in there as if it was a trash compartment... The bungies holding my trunk closed were gone which means my trunk has been open for a whole MONTH and my bumper was dangling by a thread. When I dropped off my vehicle the bumper was still attached, damaged but still attached and stable. We had to remove the bumper just to make sure it didnt fly off on the way home! Not to mention my car battery was totally dead and took 20 minutes to charge just to get it home it died again once we got home. When we went inside to ask why our car was left in such a state and why our property (bungie cables) were missing the guy sitting behind Vanessa to the left with glasses immediately denied our claim stating that the car is how it was when we dropped it off-- WHICH WAS A ABSOLUTE COMPLETELY FALSE CLAIM.. He offered to show my husband photos and when my husband started to walk around to go back by the computer the guy showed him a picture of the rear end... my husband replied " the TRUNK not the rear end" we CLEARLY knew what the accident damage looked like and questioned him why he was showing us photos of the exterior vs the interior he snapped and told my husband to wait OUTSIDE or he was calling the cops and REFUSED to show us the photos. At first my husband completely composed and shocked walked out to the lobby where the guy directed him in anger and when my husband said ok he immediately responded in anger "better yet you can get the F(;¥k out and stand outside. Mind you it was the middle of the day and super hot outside and he had did nothing wrong but ACCEPT the guys offer to look at the photos he SUPPOSEDLY wanted to show which had nothing to do with what we were talking about. I even called after to ask Vanessa to send us the photos she took when we dropped off the vehicle and she said she would but never did... I reached out to the insurance adjuster for the photos THANKFULLY. Complete 360 of how they treated us when we first visited this place. Almost OBVIOUS that once they know they're not making any money off of you they'll treat you and your property like trash. DO NOT fall for the polite and performative first impression (WHICH MY HUSBAND EVEN MENTIONED the day we dropped off the car that they gave off a very fake energy), and go somewhere else. There are thousands of other shops that are heaps and bounds more reliable, professional and KIND than Carstar East Valley Collision. Never seen anything like this in my life.... STEER CLEAR! *sidenote* there was a woman in the lobby asking my husband about their service and what was wrong ,my husband told her that our car wasn't taken care of properly and she mentioned that the shop didn't give a good vibe to begin with. IMMEDIATELY after she said that is when the guy threw a public temper tantrum. Directed at my husband and in front of multiple workers and customers.

Well....after having my 2026 Tesla Model 3 for 3 weeks, I accidentally hit the passenger side…read morebumper on my garage door rail causing a huge gash right under the headlight. I received quotes from the Tesla body shop and another Tesla approved shop in Tempe, both of which were over $2,000. Brightwood's price was fair and I was really impressed with Nicole's professionalism and communication. She sent me a detailed quote, which had everything broken down so I knew exactly what work was being done. The other bodyshop just sent me a price without any sort of breakdown and when I mentioned I was going to go with Brightwood, their response was, "You get what you pay for", which I thought was unprofessional. Nicole was very responsive and knowledgeable and it was nice dealing with her. Anna, at the front desk was also super friendly and efficient. Brightwood was nice enough to order the part without a deposit and didn't schedule my work until the part came in, which saved a ton of time. I wasn't going through insurance and didn't want to pay out of pocket for a rental car so they saved me a ton of time by doing it this way. The other body shop wanted an $800 deposit just to get the part ordered and they were about 3 weeks out for scheduling the work. As soon as I okayed the quote, Brightwood ordered the necessary parts and they were at the shop in a few days. I dropped my car off on the following Monday and it was ready on Thursday. It would've been ready sooner but they had to order a different bracket that we didn't realize was broken until the bumper cover was removed. Totally not their fault. Ok, so why 4 stars and not 5? Well, when I took my vehicle home I noticed that the paint was too dark on the bumper and it did not match very well. I also noticed that the front trunk (frunk) was crooked. It was too low on the right side and too high on the left when facing the vehicle, which looked weird when looking at the vehicle head on...almost looked like it was winking at you. I contacted Nicole and she asked for me to bring it by the shop for the manager to look at it. I brought it by the following Friday and the manager scheduled me for the following Monday with no questions asked. I dropped it off on Monday morning and was able to pick it up the next day in the afternoon. The paint looks way better and the frunk is corrected. Overall, I thought Brightwood was a good body shop and I would bring my Tesla here again...though in all honesty I hope I don't have to because that means it needs body work which is never cheap.
