My mom and I couldn't be happier with the service we were provided from start to finish. We contacted the business in late July of last year to see about installing a solar system on our home before the end of the year. Within in days, Alessandro was here to meet us in person and provided us with a comprehensive breakdown for solar options and pricing. We loved that we were treated like actual people instead of a number in a queue. Given that there was a slight backlog of jobs they had to work through we were assured that we would have our system fully installed and activated before the end of the year, which we did! It was great working with Nick who was our onsite rep and Juan was always available to answer any questions we had by phone (of which I had many). Despite the number of times I called, he was always patient with me and provided detailed answers that gave me a better picture of our installation and how our system would operate moving forward. I can't say enough about how amazing the whole process was. Looking at our electrical bills right now and we're in awe of all of the savings we're getting, which validates our decision to purposefully oversize our system. If and when we decide to install a car charging station in our home we're definitely going back to Sunlight!

I can't say enough good things about Carlos Gomez from Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions…read more I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Given everything: His technical expertise The level of detail and care The ability to integrate with my existing system The fast turnaround And the much better pricing Choosing Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was a complete no-brainer. Carlos is knowledgeable, meticulous, honest, and genuinely passionate about doing things the right way. After meeting him, I completely understand why this company has such strong Yelp reviews. If you're in the Bay Area and need electrical or solar work done the right way, especially for a non-standard or custom system, I highly recommend Carlos and the team at Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions.

Then he explained the process to me with patience, knowledge and an understanding of my situation. We settled on a date for roof inspection. My roof is difficult to access and they had to come back several times with different ladders but they never gave up and the weren't ever not confident that it could be done easy. Finally the right tools were located. The team was very professional. The install went very well and caused no damage to the roof or my house. The service afterwards has also been great. This is a great value with no cost upfront. PG&E is naturally trying to claw back some sort of a pay increase but so far has been honest at true up. They just increase the price for gas. 5 stars. I recommend them

Absolutely do not do business with this company…read more Collin is a great salesperson when he is trying to earn your business. He was attentive, responsive and promised us a turnkey solution, repeatedly assuring us that he would personally be involved throughout the entire process from installation through permitting and activation. Unfortunately, once we signed, that level of service completely disappeared. We signed up around August/September 2025 and specifically asked Collin to commit to having everything installed, approved and running before the end of the year. He assured us it would be done well before then and told us he had trusted partners and installers who would make sure everything went smoothly. That is not remotely what happened. Our panels were installed, but the proper parts had not been ordered, which delayed permitting. Collin told us he would be there during installation and permitting. He never showed up. Then he became nearly impossible to reach. We emailed, texted and called repeatedly because we had solar panels sitting on our house that weren't operational, couldn't be turned on and had outstanding code/permitting issues. We didn't even know what the next step was because the person who promised to manage the process had stopped communicating with us. When Collin finally responded, he actually told us that he doesn't handle confrontation well and had chosen to ignore our calls. The ridiculous part is that we weren't calling to confront him. We were customers trying to get answers about a system we were paying for that didn't work. I eventually contacted PG&E myself and was given information that was completely different from what Collin had told us. Meanwhile, we were paying for solar panels that weren't active and continuing to pay a huge PG&E bill. It took us approximately eight months to finally get everything resolved, and by the end I was doing the legwork myself to figure out what needed to happen and make sure the system was activated properly. Even now, Collin has yet to properly finalize and close out our contract. What makes this even more frustrating is that early on, when we still believed in him and his business, we referred several people to him. Some of them told us they couldn't even get him to return their calls. In hindsight, that should have been a warning sign. I rarely write reviews this strongly, but I would not recommend Collin or this company to anyone. Selling a major home improvement project is the easy part. What matters is whether someone is there when problems arise, communicates with their customer and follows through on what they promised. That was absolutely not our experience. Save yourself the time, frustration and headache and work with a more established, responsive company.

He was extremely knowledgeable about solar and made the process of designing our system straightforward and easy. Because I had travel plans, we couldn't start immediately, but the Syndy team scheduled our installation for Jul 27 - 28. Everything went exactly as planned. The materials arrived on Jul 24, and Martin and his crew, showed up right on time at 7:45 AM on Jul 27. They worked incredibly hard, efficiently completing most of the installation that day and returning the next day to finish the remaining panels and cleanup. That evening, seeing our panels generating solar energy for the first time was an amazing feeling! PG&E installed the Tesla Backup Switch a few days later, and everything seemed to be moving perfectly - until our Livermore city inspection on Aug 7. Unfortunately, we failed because an approved heat detector had not been installed. I was extremely disappointed. It felt like having an amazing present sitting right in front of me but not being able to open it! There were a few additional hiccups, but Jason stepped in, took ownership of the heat detector issues, and worked to get everything resolved. We finally passed inspection and received our permit on Aug 26, followed by PG&E Permission to Operate (PTO) on Aug 28. A huge thank you to the entire Synergy Power team: - Martin, Eliel, Manuel, and Nate for the excellent installation - Rebekah, Melissa, Mark, and Amy for keeping us informed - Jason for stepping in and getting the final issues resolved Overall, we are extremely happy with our solar system and grateful to the entire Synergy Power team for seeing the project through from start to finish. Thank you, Synergy Power, for a job very well done!

I heard nothing back for over a month; no follow up calls, no emails, no returning my voice mails. System still not producing anything. I finally got an invoice and a few pictures from my inspection. It was clear from the pictures that nothing was working, system was consuming power, not producing. I started doing a lot more research and found someone with experience with Sunpower systems and turns out all of my microinverters had been fried due to a power outage/surge that I had told Simply Solar about but apparently they had no idea how to check these. They were very clear it would be $299 just to come out and inspect the system but I agreed to that with the assumption they would know what to look at.
