I needed a place to custom make my husbands birthday cake and found this place with Yelp. They had great reviews and was close by where I was. I came in before ordering to try out several items. I got cake pops, cupcakes, petite fours, cookies, and a few other items. They were all delicious and fresh. I got home and ordered the cake. We visited on a Friday afternoon while in town. We used to live in The Woodlands and decided to stop in for the first time based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. The store was not busy at all in fact, there were no other customers present during our visit. We were assisted by a woman whose name we did not catch. Our only interactions consisted of brief questions such as, "Are you ready?" and "Anything else?" repeated in a manner that made us feel as though we were inconveniencing her. As first-time customers, we had hoped for a warmer welcome and perhaps some recommendations, but none were offered. We purchased several items to bring to a gathering. The almond cookies were unanimously considered bland, stale-tasting, and not comparable to the authentic versions we have enjoyed elsewhere. The cupcakes were also underwhelming and did not stand out in any memorable way. Overall, the combination of indifferent customer service and disappointing products left us with little reason to return. Based on our experience, we would not recommend making a special trip here, whether you are local or visiting the area. read more

He almond butter cookies....oh my goodness are they insanely delicious!! i'm in town visiting clients and wanted to drop off a little sweet treat during my meeting. I was directed to this bakery and I am so thankful that I ended up here. I believe it was the owner that waited on me. She was extremely sweet and helped me. Choose items to take to my customers. I ordered cake balls, petit fours, palmiers, and took bags of the almond butter cookies. I kept a bag of almond cookies for myself, and I was angry that I didn't get extra. These are the most delicious yet delicate almond cookies that I have ever had. They have a light buttery flavor, and I quickly found myself eating them one right after the other I wish that I had not eaten lunch before going in there. Otherwise I would have ordered food. Everything looked delicious and it was a cute little cozy spot that I could see myself enjoying on a weekly basis. My customer said that the cake balls and pedophiles were divine. I now have the perfect go to bakery whenever I'm in town to visit clients. read more

This is a gem! Their cupcakes are some of the best I've had hands down from a bakery. There aren't any cupcakes in the case since they are iced fresh. I ordered a vanilla with sprinkles and an oreo cupcake since I was told that's the most popular flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to see they dont skimp out on the oreos! Other bakeries sometimes don't put any in the cake, just the frosting. Also note worthy was the softness of the cupcakes. We ate them 2 days after pickup, and they were as if they were just made. They also have Vietnamese sandwiches and drinks you can order. I'll be back to try them since if it's also delicious, it'll be a one-stop shop! read more

I must admit I found this little mom and pop bakery merely on accident as I was using the cleaners next door. I love to try new bakeries just to try out their baking skills and they did not disappoint. Admittedly, when I first walked through the door I didn't really feel that I was going to be impressed as the place really was quite bland and not much for decor. The business was very clean and the service, a kind Asian old lady was very nice and friendly. The price for two cupcakes $5.00 I felt was very reasonable. Now about those cupcakes. Man when I got home promising myself I would only eat one; I couldn't resist eating the second one. I've gotten three cakes and cupcakes from here and have loved them every time! The strawberry cake is my favorite and she said it tastes so good because she uses fresh strawberries. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she can usually do last minute stuff. My kids like getting the cake pops when we go in. The icing isn't too sweet either. read more

Stopped in today for a weekend dessert binge and Cakes n' Mor did not disappoint! We got a dozen cake balls in all flavors (ONLY $12!!!) and 4 cupcakes. We only got to try the chocolate cupcake and 2 of the cake balls so far, but they were so delicious! The cupcake was moist and the cake balls weren't too heavy (like I find some places to be). My husband first found this place when he was visiting the taco shop, Simon Cachetón, next door. In the taco shop he overheard these older ladies who belonged to a quilt club just ranting and raving about these butter almond cookies and how awesomely thin and flavorful they are that they get from next door at Cakes N' Mor. While waiting on his tacos he decided to pop in and try the infamous cookies that are "so addicting they're like chips, but better." I will admit completely that I do not enjoy nuts in my dessert and these are not something I would be running to try, but omg....BEST COOKIES EVER YALL! It has now become tradition that we get tacos next door and pop into Cakes and Mor at least five times a month and get cookies. Food is old and cold cakes like they were in freezer then defrosted. I bought 5 diff types of cake balls all were bad. I threw everything away. It pains me to leave a bad review I. These times; but this place is in a depressed area/center with no souls around. I came here to place a giant order and they had no samples to try which in itself was bad (all the other bakeries offer cake samples for big events w appt or some w/o). Lady was nice but this was not good at all. Sorry folks. I went to the vintage and ordered giant macaroon towers so they lost a major sale. read more

Bought my daughter's custom cake from here and I loved it! We went for a Lorax theme 2 tier cake and ordered strawberry and German chocolate flavors. It tasted amazing and it was still moist even after sitting in the fridge overnight. The cake was a hit and everyone loved it. If you don't know what cake design you want to go for, the owner has several binders of different themes and characters which is great. They also do bridal cakes! This place is unique because they are not only a bakery, but they also make Vietnamese sandwiches. I will most likely order from this place for future events! When I read on one of the reviews that they offer Vietnamese sandwiches and diff flavor milk tea drinks with add ons of tapioca/rainbow jelly, I had to stop by and give it a try. On top of that it's literally just 3 min from my house. The lady behind the counter was the owner I believe, she was so sweet and nice. I ordered the combination banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) and the matcha milk tea w/tap. The banh mi was fully loaded with meat and veggies, bread was crispy and with a good amount of butter and pate in it. Tastes damn near as good as the Vietnamese sandwiches down in Bellaire, Chinatown. The matcha milk tea was delicious ! It wasn't too milky, I tasted the matcha, tapioca balls were soft and chewy. Although this place is known for their dessert, I didn't order any lol but next time I return I'll make sure to try their baked goods as well. Our favorite place for birthday cakes as well as small baked treats like cake balls, cupcakes, cookies etc. I showed her a photo of a Rock-candy "geode" cake my son wanted for his rock-theme birthday party, and she recreated it perfectly. I almost walked out, but decided to give them a chance. I ordered a vanilla cupcake to try before I invested in a dozen. I asked them if the cupcakes were fresh and the girl said that they were from that week. Most bakeries make them fresh daily or every other day. I tried eating my cupcake there, but I couldn't stand the smell. I left with just the one cupcake.

On 9/26/2025 I selected a cake design I was looking for off their website, so I called to place the order (I did say I have a topper for the cake which I was reminded of that when I picked the cake up on 10/8/2025 & that's fine). Cake, I ordered was to feed 20+ ppl and it was what I thought for a 2-tier cake. Girl who took my order was very vague and didn't ask many questions, as I think being a bakery should have. Needless to say, no one from the bakery contacted to follow-up of my order prior to my pick-up date. I called on Monday 10/6/2025 as the date needing this cake was two days away and to find out on their website the bakery is closed on Monday's and there are no recordings on their phone regarding this. After calling the bakery I sent a text message to the phone number given to me at the time of placing my order, no response until 10:09 am on Tuesday asking the name on the order and I reply immediately with no reply to my text from the bakery. I call the bakery at 11:37 am since they hadn't responded to my text and was told at first, they didn't see my order, then order sheet was found. I was told that the cake would be ready for pickup between 10:30-11:00 am on Wednesday. I didn't receive a text or phone call saying my order wouldn't be ready until later in the afternoon. I called again on Wednesday at 2:00 pm to find out if my cake was ready to be told it's being finished up now, so I requested a picture to be text to me and was told sure. At 3:28 pm I left work to pick up the cake and called on my way to find out if it was ready or not and it was. I told the baker I requested a picture of the cake to be text to me and I was told I didn't receive that message, so I asked her directly and she sent the picture of the cake. For $110 cake it wasn't anything I was expecting, I was very disappointed in the presentation of the look of it. She tried to say a contract was emailed to you and it wasn't, as I check my emails several times daily. I expressed my disapproval of the cake; it was very sad looking and the writing I requested to be added looked like a very young elementary kid wrote the wording for them. I had the writing remove, because it looked awful! Then we cut the cake to find the cake was dry, no moisture at all. A friend who loves cakes and is a baker herself told me later as she was debating on telling me the truth or not, the cake either was baked or left in the open air too long and icing wasn't good. Again, very disappointing that cake wasn't up to expectation. I will give credit to the baker as she did give me credit back to my credit card, due to their lack of attention to details. If I were in the bakery industry and a customer ordered a cake for a special event and it wasn't turning out pretty or exceptional I would send a picture of the cake to make suggestions or options to make it more appealing. Nothing like this occurred!!! I've attached pictures of the cake I wanted something similar to vs what I was given.

Of the handful I tried, the Krumble who and semi chocolate chip really hit the mark with texture, and flavor. A soft center could be found behind every initial satisfying crunch. I'd reorder them depending on my mood without hesitation. It's nice to know that Kimmy now ships nationwide and you're also able to order beforehand. Although I personally could use a little more salt, I'll certainly think of them next time I'm in the Vintage.
