Oof this is rough. I stopped by yesterday to pick up cupcakes for my birthday. As I walked in, I wasn't sure if it was open to public as there was no one there and it seemed disorganized. The young lady working said what they had out on the case was all they had. I was disappointed to see all they had were chocolate and vanilla cupcakes plus random back to school treats. I really didn't want to cause a scene and walk out so I took 2 of each home. While they looked amazing as soon as I cut into them I knew they were dry. Once I bit into them I confirmed that what I thought was true. The vanilla cupcake was dry, but the flavor was okay. The chocolate cupcakes were as dry as they could get in comparison. It was so disappointing to see beautiful cupcakes but the quality not being to par. The icing was fine and honeslty is was made it edible. I'm not sure if what was in the case was leftover from the day before or maybe an order that was left behind, but I wouldn't return nor would I suggest purchasing an expensive cake from here. My experience with For Heaven's Cake wasn't a good experience at all. I looked at many reviews for bakeries in the area for my granddaughter's Sweet 16th birthday, so I went with this bakery. On 9/26/2025 I selected a cake design I was looking for off their website, so I called to place the order (I did say I have a topper for the cake which I was reminded of that when I picked the cake up on 10/8/2025 & that's fine). Cake, I ordered was to feed 20+ ppl and it was what I thought for a 2-tier cake. Girl who took my order was very vague and didn't ask many questions, as I think being a bakery should have. Needless to say, no one from the bakery contacted to follow-up of my order prior to my pick-up date. I called on Monday 10/6/2025 as the date needing this cake was two days away and to find out on their website the bakery is closed on Monday's and there are no recordings on their phone regarding this. After calling the bakery I sent a text message to the phone number given to me at the time of placing my order, no response until 10:09 am on Tuesday asking the name on the order and I reply immediately with no reply to my text from the bakery. I call the bakery at 11:37 am since they hadn't responded to my text and was told at first, they didn't see my order, then order sheet was found. I was told that the cake would be ready for pickup between 10:30-11:00 am on Wednesday. I didn't receive a text or phone call saying my order wouldn't be ready until later in the afternoon. I called again on Wednesday at 2:00 pm to find out if my cake was ready to be told it's being finished up now, so I requested a picture to be text to me and was told sure. At 3:28 pm I left work to pick up the cake and called on my way to find out if it was ready or not and it was. I told the baker I requested a picture of the cake to be text to me and I was told I didn't receive that message, so I asked her directly and she sent the picture of the cake. For $110 cake it wasn't anything I was expecting, I was very disappointed in the presentation of the look of it. She tried to say a contract was emailed to you and it wasn't, as I check my emails several times daily. I expressed my disapproval of the cake; it was very sad looking and the writing I requested to be added looked like a very young elementary kid wrote the wording for them. I had the writing remove, because it looked awful! Then we cut the cake to find the cake was dry, no moisture at all. A friend who loves cakes and is a baker herself told me later as she was debating on telling me the truth or not, the cake either was baked or left in the open air too long and icing wasn't good. Again, very disappointing that cake wasn't up to expectation. I will give credit to the baker as she did give me credit back to my credit card, due to their lack of attention to details. If I were in the bakery industry and a customer ordered a cake for a special event and it wasn't turning out pretty or exceptional I would send a picture of the cake to make suggestions or options to make it more appealing. Heavens Cake was the only bakery I chose specifically because they agreed to make rice paper florals on my wedding cake, as I requested. I sent an inspiration picture, clearly specifying the delicate look I wanted, with rice paper flowers as the only decor, which they assured me they could do. On my wedding day, however, I was shocked and heartbroken to see the cake covered in bulky, clunky fondant flowers--exactly what I didn't want. When I called, the owner admitted that they didn't even bother to write down this crucial detail. Both the smash cake and the regular cake was beyond fabulous, from the taste to the details that was put into it. Not often at other bakeries can you get the best of both worlds, taste and looks, but here they have never disappointed. Along with cake we usually order cookies. Every batch of cookies has been flawless, they just melt in your mouth. They aren't overly sweet like most but the perfect amount of sweetness. As well with cookies they are perfectly decorated if you order the decorated ones. Every winter I come to this bakery for my hot cocoa bombs. I have tried several others and they did NOT meet the expectations like "For Heaven's cake." They are so delicious my kids call them "Heaven" bombs, because they said they taste like heaven. The homemade loaf of breads at this bakery are so fresh and delicious. You can tell they are made fresh daily. My absolute favorite is the jalapeño cheddar bread. They had me to email over what I wanted the cake to say and I did that the cake was supposed to say aged to Perfection Mark is turning old number 40... as you can see from the pictures they got that messed up they put Jack Daniels and you can see they put Mark in block letters. I brought this to their attention when I pick the cake up but this is the day of my 40th birthday party. I'll let them know that it was supposed to say aged to Perfection not Jack Daniels. First let me start by saying, this place is under new management as of October 2018 so any reviews prior to that date do not reflect the new ownership. I contacted Dawn in October for my son's first birthday party that was in January. I wanted a few different cakes/cupcakes so I was hoping that if she was given ample time to prepare/make the cakes then they would turn out spectacular! Sadly, that was not the case. I really felt as though she couldn't care less about my business upon talking to her, but figured that may just be her personality and didn't take it to heart. She said she could deliver what I was asking for so I put my trust in her that she could. First, I wanted a 3D Daniel Tiger cake. I showed her a picture of another 3D cake that I liked so she would know what look I was going for. What I got did not look like what I was expecting. Second, I wanted cupcakes to resemble two of my son's favorite toys. I got cupcakes that were minimally decorated, and something I could have purchased at Kroger. Lastly, I wanted a smash cake for my son to resemble another one of his favorite toys. It was pretty good except his toy is white and the cake icing was dark gray/black! I don't know where they got the black icing idea from as I sent a picture and the toy is clearly white... then to top it all off I was told it would be ready at 9:00 am. I arrived at 9:15 to be told the order wasn't ready yet by someone other than Dawn (she wasn't even at the store or if she was she never came to greet me), and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes (usually not a big deal, but I had my 1 year old with me and still needed to finish setting up for the party so yeah 20 minutes feels like a long time in that situation). But the icing on the cake is that when I got the order I contacted Dawn via text to share my displeasure with her, and I never received a response. No I'm sorry for any mixup, I apologize you aren't happy, nothing... I didn't share my displeasure with the lady that gave me the order because I didn't place the order with her. I wanted to speak with the owner regarding the matter, but it unfortunately circled back to what I said earlier about feeling as though she really didn't care about my business. So here I am leaving a review. They get two stars instead of one because I did order one additional cake that was pretty spot on to what I asked for. The icing on that cake wasn't quite right though as had asked for cool whip icing and it didn't taste like what I was expecting, but other than that it looked pretty and was what I wanted. The wedding cake and groom cake were moist, tasty and beautiful. I asked that they include a hulk peeking out from under the cake and paid extra for it - Hulk didn't look like Hulk at all and it wasn't well done but hey - it was the thought that counted. Hubby didn't know I was adding that touch for him. I expected the bakery to refund what was paid for the Hulk as it looked like a goblin but I didn't ask and just let it go. The review would be a five if not for that and a little more tidy on the fondant work. The groom cake was fondant and it wasn't that well rolled but I didn't notice that the day of the wedding. It's very noticeable in the pictures where there are gaps in the icing and finger prints. BUT as you can see from the rating - we were happy and the cakes were still beautiful and tasty. Hubby and I laid in bed the night after we got married and ate more wedding and groom cake. I am very happy we chose them as our baker. My birthday was a few months after I got married and I came home to a surprise party and an amazing birthday cake. My sailor son was on Skype and he was bummed he didn't get any cake. The cake tasted more moist in the tasting session, but it was still good. I asked for a fairly simple cake with pink and green pastel 3D flowers going down it. Ended up getting fairly flat vibrant colored flowers and they didn't artistically place the colors, they literally just did pink green pink green. They also didn't even bother making a dot for the center of the flowers. Pretty disappointing for 400+ bucks.
