For Heaven's Cake - Custom ordered dinosaur cookies - Bakeries Near Me - Cypress, Texas

Oof this is rough. I stopped by yesterday to pick up cupcakes for my birthday. As I walked in, I wasn't sure if it was open to public as there was no one there and it seemed disorganized. The young lady working said what they had out on the case was all they had. I was disappointed to see all they had were chocolate and vanilla cupcakes plus random back to school treats. I really didn't want to cause a scene and walk out so I took 2 of each home. While they looked amazing as soon as I cut into them I knew they were dry. Once I bit into them I confirmed that what I thought was true. The vanilla cupcake was dry, but the flavor was okay. The chocolate cupcakes were as dry as they could get in comparison. It was so disappointing to see beautiful cupcakes but the quality not being to par. The icing was fine and honeslty is was made it edible. I'm not sure if what was in the case was leftover from the day before or maybe an order that was left behind, but I wouldn't return nor would I suggest purchasing an expensive cake from here. I fear it would not be worth the cost if each cupcake alone was $3. read more

My experience with For Heaven's Cake wasn't a good experience at all. I looked at many reviews for bakeries in the area for my granddaughter's Sweet 16th birthday, so I went with this bakery. On 9/26/2025 I selected a cake design I was looking for off their website, so I called to place the order (I did say I have a topper for the cake which I was reminded of that when I picked the cake up on 10/8/2025 & that's fine). Cake, I ordered was to feed 20+ ppl and it was what I thought for a 2-tier cake. Girl who took my order was very vague and didn't ask many questions, as I think being a bakery should have. Needless to say, no one from the bakery contacted to follow-up of my order prior to my pick-up date. I called on Monday 10/6/2025 as the date needing this cake was two days away and to find out on their website the bakery is closed on Monday's and there are no recordings on their phone regarding this. After calling the bakery I sent a text message to the phone number given to me at the time of placing my order, no response until 10:09 am on Tuesday asking the name on the order and I reply immediately with no reply to my text from the bakery. I call the bakery at 11:37 am since they hadn't responded to my text and was told at first, they didn't see my order, then order sheet was found. I was told that the cake would be ready for pickup between 10:30-11:00 am on Wednesday. I didn't receive a text or phone call saying my order wouldn't be ready until later in the afternoon. I called again on Wednesday at 2:00 pm to find out if my cake was ready to be told it's being finished up now, so I requested a picture to be text to me and was told sure. At 3:28 pm I left work to pick up the cake and called on my way to find out if it was ready or not and it was. I told the baker I requested a picture of the cake to be text to me and I was told I didn't receive that message, so I asked her directly and she sent the picture of the cake. For $110 cake it wasn't anything I was expecting, I was very disappointed in the presentation of the look of it. She tried to say a contract was emailed to you and it wasn't, as I check my emails several times daily. I expressed my disapproval of the cake; it was very sad looking and the writing I requested to be added looked like a very young elementary kid wrote the wording for them. I had the writing remove, because it looked awful! Then we cut the cake to find the cake was dry, no moisture at all. A friend who loves cakes and is a baker herself told me later as she was debating on telling me the truth or not, the cake either was baked or left in the open air too long and icing wasn't good. Again, very disappointing that cake wasn't up to expectation. I will give credit to the baker as she did give me credit back to my credit card, due to their lack of attention to details. If I were in the bakery industry and a customer ordered a cake for a special event and it wasn't turning out pretty or exceptional I would send a picture of the cake to make suggestions or options to make it more appealing. Nothing like this occurred!!! I've attached pictures of the cake I wanted something similar to vs what I was given. read more

THE COCONUT CAKE" she said. Made for my mother's 80th birthday with the ritual Coconut Cake! I'm unable to cook nowadays, so "For Heaven's Cake" was the more than perfect solution. I have never had a more positive experience than with this company. Kendall was extremely helpful and allowed our planning experience to be stress-free. I was hoping to have a dessert bar along with a small cake for my husband and me, and she was able to make it possible. They have incredibly organized pricing guides, and the tasting was exquisite. The most incredible part of this experience is that I drew a mockup of my desired cake, hoping that they could include little elements to it. The designer went above and beyond and literally brought my dream cake to reality. I plan on coming back here again and again for each and every cake I need for an event. read more

Absolutely devastated with my wedding cake from Heavens Cake I would give this bakery zero stars if I could. Heavens Cake was the only bakery I chose specifically because they agreed to make rice paper florals on my wedding cake, as I requested. I sent an inspiration picture, clearly specifying the delicate look I wanted, with rice paper flowers as the only decor, which they assured me they could do. On my wedding day, however, I was shocked and heartbroken to see the cake covered in bulky, clunky fondant flowers--exactly what I didn't want. This wasn't just a minor detail; it was a critical part of my vision for my wedding, and they completely ignored it. When I called, the owner admitted that they didn't even bother to write down this crucial detail. Their "solution" was an insulting $225 refund on a cake I paid over $1,000 for--a refund that doesn't begin to cover the disappointment of having my wedding vision completely disregarded. I would never recommend this bakery to anyone looking for professionalism or attention to detail, especially for such an important event. read more

Ordered a cake a week plus in advance .. had to call a couple of times to confirm it was ready.. went to pick it up and was charged $100, asked why the high price when other places are charging $55-$65, never really got a solid answer as to why. The cake was good, however other places are all in-line with a much different price point. read more

The cake tasted good, but it was not what I ordered. I wasn't able to check it because my husband picked it up right before our party, and based on the many good photos on the website I thought the bakery was capable of following the photos I sent and my instructions. I ordered this cake and I specified rose gold frosting, not orange. I asked for letters in this font. I got an orange cake with letters in a totally different, amateur looking font. As you can see, the colors don't match the cake I asked for. Several people at the party asked me if I made the cake myself. I didn't want to spend $125 on a professional cake to be asked if I made the cake. Like I said, it tasted good, but if you're ordering from For Heaven's Cake, please check it before accepting it. They may totally disregard your requests like they did to me! read more

Going to start off by saying that the cake was okay however, the outside of the cake was horrible. This bakery based on the reviews was not my first choice, the cake was a gift from my sons grandparents and I let them order from wherever they wished. We showed and sent pictures to the team when we placed the cake order and although its similar, the person who decorated my sons cake seemed to have not cared about perfection? The rope around is ashy and crumbling, the 2 on top of the cake looks like playdough and crumbling, that woody hat wow not sure how they thought that was a good final product, the buzz and woody on top were not even printed in a good quality and were blurry and pixilated. The cake is usually the star of your party and we were definitely upset that was not the case for our sons 2nd birthday. We did not order our cake from a new baker, this is a cake business and this is the product they are proud to deliver to customers? read more

Cake started falling apart not even 5 minutes after picking it up. The ear fell off of stitch. The donut fell off messing up the writing at the bottom. Wasn't even a mile up Jones. You can see huge pixels from the printer in both stitch and angel as well. We asked for pictures once the cake was made in which we didn't receive. As well as a last minute notice on when the cake was ready. We left and came back not even 10 minutes after picking up the cake to get it fixed but the shop was already closed. Was told nothing could be done until Monday. Can't have a 9 year old birthday party without cake so we had to figure something out quick and inconveniently. Paid over $120 for the cake just to still end up ha to go out of our way and spend more money to fix it. Was also blamed for the cake falling apart. Mind you, 1. Jones is a paved flat road and not a dirt one. 2. As you can see in the picture, the saran wrap was still attached and untampered. Still haven't been contacted in regards of fixing the situation. This establishment is very hard to get into contact with; poor communication. It's very sad and unfortunate that the owner shows no concern over quality, while making up lies and excuses to cover up poor customer service. Your claims of me reaching out after hours are completely false. Yesterday you called me at 11:34 I called back within 30 minutes and of course no answer. You never tried to reach back out once more. Mind you it's a weekday and people have jobs! That's how I was able to waste my money on your products and services. I have screenshots of my call log and text messages of your slow and poor concerns. I picked it up after i was made aware it was done, hadn't even seen the cake yet. We pulled out of the shopping center and the cake started falling apart. We turned right back around. We never declined it being fixed! Be for real and stop lying, you just have horrible service and even more horrible cakes! Ruined a 8 year olds birthday and you're making excuses, you definitely will be hearing from me again. read more

Furious, I paid $40 for 8 cupcakes and only got 6 that don't even look professionally made, rather look like a Pinterest fail! I have used This bakery twice. First for the baby shower I gave my sister-in-law. The second time was recently for my Mother's 75th Surprise Birthday Party. Both times Dawn and her team did an Outstanding job on the cakes they provided for both occasions. For Heaven's Cake - Our cake! (Through Saran Wrap ‍ I forgot to take a pic before digging in!) - Bakeries Near Me - Cypress, Texas

If you are looking for a small local bakery "For Heaven's Cake" is a place that is a must try. Let me start by saying how wonderful the customer service is at "For Heaven's Cake". Every time I have walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome right away. They make you feel like you are family the moment you walk in, which is a plus. They are very good with my kids as well who is very indecisive when it comes to picking out a cake or anything at that matter. They are patient and make sure we get exactly what we ask for and that it is everything plus more to make the kids dreams come true. They always answer any questions you have about any products thoroughly and are very knowledgeable about all of their product. Dawn, the owner is super sweet and makes sure we are happy with everything before we leave out the door. You always can tell customer satisfaction is always her main concern, which makes for great business success because she always goes out of way to make sure we are beyond happy with our order. We have been using this bakery for years for many different products like, cakes, hot cocoa bombs, cookies, and fresh loaves of bread. I have tried many big-name bakeries and always end right back here at "For Heaven's Cake". It was one of the best decisions to shop at a small local business. The cakes are beyond delicious. They taste so fresh even if you pick up first thing that morning and are having an afternoon party. They are very moist never have gotten a dry cake from this bakery. My absolute favorite that i have gotten is the strawberry cake with strawberry filling with buttercream icing. The decorations were beyond perfected and was done with so much detail it looked very realistic. The sky has been no limit for these ladies at this bakery because my kids have gone in with some crazy idea. They are all beyond talented and make everything look flawless every time. From my 10-year-old descendants' cake to a rainbow cake, and even a smash cake shaped into a dinosaur egg, they have been phenomenal. With the dinosaur egg smash cake, they even took it as far to put play dinosaurs in the cake itself so when my little one smashed it, he was surprised with dinosaurs. Both the smash cake and the regular cake was beyond fabulous, from the taste to the details that was put into it. Not often at other bakeries can you get the best of both worlds, taste and looks, but here they have never disappointed. Along with cake we usually order cookies. Every batch of cookies has been flawless, they just melt in your mouth. They aren't overly sweet like most but the perfect amount of sweetness. As well with cookies they are perfectly decorated if you order the decorated ones. Every winter I come to this bakery for my hot cocoa bombs. I have tried several others and they did NOT meet the expectations like "For Heaven's cake." They are so delicious my kids call them "Heaven" bombs, because they said they taste like heaven. The homemade loaf of breads at this bakery are so fresh and delicious. You can tell they are made fresh daily. My absolute favorite is the jalapeño cheddar bread. It is made with the perfect ratio where the jalapenos aren't overpowering, Rather you just have a sweet tooth and needing something sweet, or you have an upcoming event you should give this bakery a try you will not be disappointed. They for sure will make sure you get taking care of and every need is fulfilled. It is nice to have these small local businesses here in Houston, they will always get my support. Furthermore, it is also nice to support this local bakery. read more

I found this place on Yelp. I had to do everything basically online and I paid $100 for this cake. They had me to email over what I wanted the cake to say and I did that the cake was supposed to say aged to Perfection Mark is turning old number 40... as you can see from the pictures they got that messed up they put Jack Daniels and you can see they put Mark in block letters. I brought this to their attention when I pick the cake up but this is the day of my 40th birthday party. I'll let them know that it was supposed to say aged to Perfection not Jack Daniels. So they took the cake to the back and put aged to Perfection on the tray. When I pick the cake up and also had a noticeable bulge. But what can I do it's the day of my birthday party. The manager did not come and say anything to since I paid in advance they did not give me any money back. only thing they can say is they're sorry.. read more

First let me start by saying, this place is under new management as of October 2018 so any reviews prior to that date do not reflect the new ownership. I contacted Dawn in October for my son's first birthday party that was in January. I wanted a few different cakes/cupcakes so I was hoping that if she was given ample time to prepare/make the cakes then they would turn out spectacular! Sadly, that was not the case. I really felt as though she couldn't care less about my business upon talking to her, but figured that may just be her personality and didn't take it to heart. She said she could deliver what I was asking for so I put my trust in her that she could. First, I wanted a 3D Daniel Tiger cake. I showed her a picture of another 3D cake that I liked so she would know what look I was going for. What I got did not look like what I was expecting. Second, I wanted cupcakes to resemble two of my son's favorite toys. I got cupcakes that were minimally decorated, and something I could have purchased at Kroger. Lastly, I wanted a smash cake for my son to resemble another one of his favorite toys. It was pretty good except his toy is white and the cake icing was dark gray/black! I don't know where they got the black icing idea from as I sent a picture and the toy is clearly white... then to top it all off I was told it would be ready at 9:00 am. I arrived at 9:15 to be told the order wasn't ready yet by someone other than Dawn (she wasn't even at the store or if she was she never came to greet me), and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes (usually not a big deal, but I had my 1 year old with me and still needed to finish setting up for the party so yeah 20 minutes feels like a long time in that situation). But the icing on the cake is that when I got the order I contacted Dawn via text to share my displeasure with her, and I never received a response. No I'm sorry for any mixup, I apologize you aren't happy, nothing... I didn't share my displeasure with the lady that gave me the order because I didn't place the order with her. I wanted to speak with the owner regarding the matter, but it unfortunately circled back to what I said earlier about feeling as though she really didn't care about my business. So here I am leaving a review. They get two stars instead of one because I did order one additional cake that was pretty spot on to what I asked for. The icing on that cake wasn't quite right though as had asked for cool whip icing and it didn't taste like what I was expecting, but other than that it looked pretty and was what I wanted. I will include all the pictures of what I wanted and what I received. Thanks for reading! read more

Our wedding cake was so beautiful and tasted very good (almond with almond buttercream). They perfectly recreated my vision, and they were a pleasure to work with! They also bring your cake in this huge lockbox type thing, which protects it during the ride over. So cool! Our extra sheet cake was German chocolate and it was SO GOOD. We almost wished we had made all of our cake German chocolate. Many guests raved about the cake, and my mom even gave some of the leftovers to family and friends from church who were asking for more! For Heaven's Cake was the best place we went to for cake tasting, and we would order from them again. read more

Very bad service . Basically ignored. I would've literally come here for my cake but the man in the suit was so rude !!

The wedding cake and groom cake were moist, tasty and beautiful. I asked that they include a hulk peeking out from under the cake and paid extra for it - Hulk didn't look like Hulk at all and it wasn't well done but hey - it was the thought that counted. Hubby didn't know I was adding that touch for him. I expected the bakery to refund what was paid for the Hulk as it looked like a goblin but I didn't ask and just let it go. The review would be a five if not for that and a little more tidy on the fondant work. The groom cake was fondant and it wasn't that well rolled but I didn't notice that the day of the wedding. It's very noticeable in the pictures where there are gaps in the icing and finger prints. BUT as you can see from the rating - we were happy and the cakes were still beautiful and tasty. Hubby and I laid in bed the night after we got married and ate more wedding and groom cake. I am very happy we chose them as our baker. My birthday was a few months after I got married and I came home to a surprise party and an amazing birthday cake. My sailor son was on Skype and he was bummed he didn't get any cake. He and the guests raved about the cake at the wedding. read more

The cake tasted more moist in the tasting session, but it was still good. I asked for a fairly simple cake with pink and green pastel 3D flowers going down it. Ended up getting fairly flat vibrant colored flowers and they didn't artistically place the colors, they literally just did pink green pink green. They also didn't even bother making a dot for the center of the flowers. Pretty disappointing for 400+ bucks. It's especially disappointing seeing that they made proper looking flowers on other cakes but not mine and I paid extra for those flowers. read more

My wife bought me a cake from here for my birthday. It looked nice and they were fast with the order with only a 2 day notice. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is for flavor. I was expecting much more from reading the reviews and for the price (~$100). My cake was lemon, strawberry and vanilla in three layers. The vanilla was dry. The lemon had some kind of spice that tasted like patchouli. The strawberry was ok. After digging in, no one, not even my kids finished a piece of it and no one asked for seconds. Very much a let down for my birthday. Resulted in throwing away my money and 95% of the cake. read more

The price was reasonable and the cake was exactly what I wanted. It was a huge hit and my 11 year old was more than thrilled.
