I stopped by Suzybee's Bakery to pick up desserts for Memorial Day weekend and was honestly disappointed by the selection available. The only premade desserts featured hot dog shapes and grill themes, with no visible acknowledgment of the true meaning behind Memorial Day. While I understand celebrating with cookouts and gatherings, Memorial Day is also a time to honor and remember the fallen men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. It was disheartening not to see even a small touch of patriotism or remembrance represented in the bakery offerings during such an important weekend. The desserts themselves may have been creative, but I had hoped for something that reflected both celebration and respect for the holiday. I've left a review before but had to drop another one. I drive across town to come to this bakery. They have a huge selection with amazing tasty desserts. I ADORE the American macaroons. The rice crispy are super airy and the macarons are my favorites too. I got my boyfriend's grandma the lemon bar and she texted me that it was to die for. My boyfriend loved the brownie. 3 1/2 really Bakery goods are very tasty and well priced. But not the most friendly customer service. Very short and overall uninterested. The owner was running the counter when I visited to buy a few cookies. Cookies were perfect, but when I'm splurging on unnecessary goods, customer service matters to me. Great at baking, would suggest investing in even a little bit of small talk. Customers can sense when you don't care. Normally this wouldn't bother me but it was almost an aggressive amount of disinterest. Somewhat insulting when I'm spending my hard earned money at your establishment. They are good but not amazing. Pretty generic if you ask me. Slightly better than average. The only exception is the chocolate chip cookie. That one is significantly better than the lot. Finally ordered a special occasion cake from SuzyBeez - but back in April of 2016. Cake was excellent. The "8" was a two-layer chocolate layer cake with a raspberry filling and iced with pink buttercream and white buttercream swirls. The "5" was a two-layer "wedding cake" flavor with a Swiss Buttercream filling and iced with pink buttercream and white buttercream swirls. People RAVED about the taste of the cakes. And they looked pretty good too. My only complaint is that I picked the cakes up by myself and it was a heavy cake - and no one even offered to hold the bakery door open for me.
