Good Cakes + Shit Customer Service = 1 Star This bakery is no longer on Senate Ave. It has moved to the owners home. I had been using this bakery for probably a little over a year for both business and personal. The cakes are good but the owner is sorely lacking in the way of customer service. I ordered a particular cake for my birthday. I changed to a simpler, less expensive design about a week before the big day. She issued me a store credit for the difference. Upon picking the cake up, it was not the cake I had designed. I'm not sure how she managed to screw that up. She had a description and a drawing that she herself wrote/drew out as we discussed it. She credited $25 to my card. Hardly a fair compensation for the disappointment. Though this is the second time she has screwed up an order for me, I wasn't yet ready to give up. I then placed an order for my son's cake but could only pick it up on a Sunday morning. She refused to allow it. She specially told me that she was not be available after 8am on that Sunday which led me to believe if it were any other Sunday, she'd be open to it. I told her I would gladly pick it up well before 8am. She refused. I do understand that she has business hours that do not include a Sunday but considering the fact that she so irresponsibly messed up my birthday cake, I would have expected her to accommodate me in this small way. When I requested reimbursement for the store credit, she again refused. Why she would insist on forcing a dissatisfied customer to continue to do business with her is beyond me but so be it. I strongly advise anyone thinking of doing business here to consider another bakery or at least have a backup. As I said, she has screwed up two orders for me and in my opinion, did not do enough to make it right. read more

Here's some of the cakes that Bridget has done for me throughout the years. They are the definition of gourmet and I can't wait until I throw another party. She is my go-to and literally the only bakery I ever will order cakes from...the first one was my baby shower cake, and then my daughters first birthday cake and smash cake. And my most recent one was my daughters 3rd birthday cake. I highly recommend the Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake!! It was a delicacy and totally the best cake I have ever had! I live in New York and I heard great things about Bella Cibo. Our correspondence begin a week before my event, we never spoke on the phone only through email. I email her a pic of a round cake with black icing and pink font that I wanted to have made the following week. She told me that the price would be $65, I said fine. However my event was canceled 3 days before due to the weather in the surrounding Houston areas and the weather we've experienced on the East coast hasn't been that great. I reached out to Bridget to inform her and she stated that because I was canceling I would have to pay $20. Now there is no cancellation information and policies on their website. I advised her if she thought that was fair then go ahead and charge me. I find it highly unprofessional because exactly what cost did they incur to charge me $20? It's very tacky because our relationship didn't end off $65 she stand to made, but $20? The weather is out of my control I would expect a business to empathize with a customer and make a memory where the customer wants to return not treating customers like one night stands. I guess $20 is for her conversation or time it took to email me? I don't know. But I definitely will not be doing business with them in the future and I will be making sure everyone hears about this. read more

I have ordered cakes from Bella Cibo on two occassions; once for a friends bday and once for a bridal shower. Each time I've ordered cakes, Bella Cibo has never disappointed. I've always gotten compliments and I've never had to complain about pricing or anything. Very reasonably priced, and decorated exactly to your liking. Her cakes are fresh, the fondant isn't too sugary or hard to get through and her cake is out of this world. The density of each slice is so thick to cut through you never have crumbs like other dryer cakes. The taste is just the same; delectable and mouthwatering! I'd recommend Bella Cibo to anyone in the North Houston/Jersey Village side of town for all your special occassion cakes! read more

I ordered my daughters first birthday cake from bella cibo and i was very happy with everything. I mainly chose bella cibo because it's so close to my house. But, I'm so happy that I went with them because mrs.bridget is so nice and does an amazing job. Her actual store front is closed down due to construction. So I had to go to her house for the cake consultation which was fine with me since it was nearby. She was so nice and patient with me. I showed her a picture with what I wanted and she did exactly what I wanted. Her prices are affordable as well I went to a different bakery and they wanted to charge me double of what I paid for and the owner was not friendly (Virginias bakery by vintage park) I will be a returning customer everytime i need a cake. My only complaint is the cake is a tad sweet but it was super moist. read more

My first experience with this bakery was at the wedding expo at the grb about four years ago. I decided to order my bday cake from here that year and haven't changed it up since. I have since then ordered my son's christening cake, his first bday cake/smash cake and will soon make another order for the christening of my second kid. I keep it simple with yellow or white cake and vanilla icing. The cake is flavorful and super moist. The icing is not overly sweet and it's balances out the cake nicely. This bakery is not that close to me but it's worth the drive to have a cake that everyone who has had it can enjoy. Will continue to get our special occasion cakes here as we enjoy the product as well as the friendliness of the owner who takes your order. read more

I went today after reading about this place in an article, "The Rest of the Best: Houston's Top 10 Cupcakes" by Katharine Shilcutt Fri., Feb. 3 2012. http://blogs.houstonpress.com/eating/2012/02/the_rest_of_the_best_houstons_19.php I work in Cypress so it is quite close to me. There wasn't anything in the display case so at first I though all the cupcakes were gone but luckily they weren't. The owner, I believe, was very helpful in marking on an order sheet, which varieties were available today. I wanted some for my coworkers so I decided to make it simple and get all Red Velvet. After I placed my order, she went to the back to frost and package them. She put them in molded plastic containers that kept them separated. I was very pleased with the way she packaged them. I had read 2 reviews about another bakery, NOT this one, that had a couple of very unhappy customers after they got their cupcakes home to find they were pretty messed up. The cupcakes were very tasty! Fresh with yummy cream cheese frosting. I would definitely go here again and hopefully get there early enough to try the strawberry cupcakes - they were gone so must be very popular. read more

After months of visiting different bakeries trying to settle on the best one for my our wedding. My fiancé and I stumbled upon Bella Cibo and were quickly under their spell. The flavors were far above the others and the prices were well in reason, actually we had a very significant saving by using Bella Cibo. We sat down with the owner and sampled her cupcakes and sketched our cake design, selected the flavors, and flowers for the cake topper. After paying for our cake we didn't hear back from the bakery, which there was no reason to at all. On the wedding day we walked into the reception hall and the cake was even more than we expected. It was GORGEOUS!! it tasted AMAZING!!! Till this day all of our friends and family still talk about that cake and I have sent a few of my recently engaged friends to them. I am so excited for our 1 year anniversary so I can have re rest of my wedding cake. read more

My sister placed a Sweet 16 cake with Bridget. I was paying for the order so, I called Bridget to let her know that I would be the one she would be in communication with. My sister chose to go with Bridget because she has delivered cakes to the law firm where she's currently employed on several different occasions and raved about how delicious the cakes were. Unfortunately, there was an instance where the law firm placed an order but the cake was not delivered. Despite the "one off" we decided to go with Bella Cibo anyway. Again my sister placed the initial order but I was paying so I gave Bridget a call to let her know of the changes. When I called to let Bridget know that I would be paying for the order, she did't know what cake I was referring to although I gave her the theme, my sister's name and the date for pick up. After confirming what order I was referring to, she sent a receipt via email to my sister and copied me (as I provided my email address). As a precaution, I followed up with Bridget for a second time as it appears that there is no organization with orders here. I left a voicemail AND replied to the initial email she sent confirming the order which again, I was copied on. Her email reply was "I don't know who you are or what you're talking about." As I replied to the initial email I didn't think I needed to confirm the order AGAIN! Very unprofessional! After I made her remember who I was AGAIN, she told me she would write my name down so this didn't happen again. However, when I called her a third time to confirm my order she AGAIN didn't know who I was or what order I was referring to. During our phone call she repeatedly said "I didn't have to do business with her." SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL! She, Bridget, then sent an email to my sister apologizing for the mishap and said that if we were dissatisfied with her, that we could cancel the order and she would refund the $50 deposit. We eventually found a baker who was much more customer oriented and decided to go with them. My sister asked to cancel the order and requested a refund; despite the email that was sent 24 hours prior, we were told the deposit was non refundable. I see that the reviews are a little mixed. So, I would say order with caution. Bridget has NO customer service. I've never had a cake from Bella Cibo and NEVER WILL but I've heard they are delicious. Unfortunately, I refuse to give my money to someone who has no regard for customers who are paying to keep her business afloat. I hope others do not experience what we have. read more

Do not waste your money or time. Her cake is horrible and bland and her customer service is a joke. She also refused to stick to a price for what we wanted and continued to take advantage of us even until the day we picked up the cake. She did so by constantly charging more and more for our cake despite that no changes had been made to our initial order. She is no doubt a talented rolled fondant decorator...which would be fine if I wanted styrofoam covered fondant that was nicely decorated instead of actual edible bread. read more

I am in sales and take "goodies" to my clients offices fairly often. I've been using Bella Cibo now for almost 6 years and the quality has always been outstanding. Not only are the baked goods always beautiful, they're delicious as well. I've had experiences before from other bakeries where stuff is pretty but didn't have the flavor to back it up, this is not the case here. They are especially known for their red velvet and German chocolate. But everything I've ever bought from them has been outstanding. I've turned many of my clients onto this bakery as well and they've always raved about what they've bought there. I've had clients order specialty cakes that were feats of engineering and still quite delicious at the same time. I highly recommend Bella Cibo to anyone in need of beautiful, quality baked goods. Order at least a day in advance however and further in advance for custom cakes. read more
