This place was selling their cakes at a table inside Baybrook Mall today. I went there this evening n got one Mini Strawberry Margarita Cake. It was fantastic n very delicious in both the smothering, creamy, pink icing and the juicy, alcohol infused cake itself. The cake and icing were very delicious, very moist and very flavorful. The alcohol in it was a great add on and not overpowering to the rest. You could taste all three in one bite. This is one of the best strawberry cakes I have ever eaten along with the ones from Dessert Gallery and The Chocolate Bar. So customer service is just as important as food to me. When I tell you Mr. Vidal was very kind, funny and knowledgeable of his cakes. I love the fact that he doesn't seem to be only looking out for his own business but seems to be also trying to give exposure for others. Now on to that delicious cake. I sampled the Baileys cake and yes you can actually taste the Baileys throughout the entire cake. I also loved how he packaged the sample. He also showed some of his work and it was lovely. I bought two cupcakes from their food truck for $12. I tried the first timer and back that ass up which is a pina colada/rum cake. The owner was super friendly. However, the cake wasn't good to me. The cake didn't taste fresh and the alcohol took away from the taste of the overall cake. I took one bite of the first timer and threw it away. I hate giving what I feel is a negative review , but I must give one. I will start with the positives the owners are so personable and friendly. They really took time to let me try various samples and explained the flavors. I love that it feels like a family business. Now to the negative (sigh) I spent 15 dollars on 2 cupcakes which is very expensive, but I wanted to show support. I purchased a soco cupcake and wine based cup cake I forgot the name. When I tried the samples the taste was very good , but as I ate the entire cupcake the flavor gets lost. The cake is moist but the flavor is just lacking. If you buy an 8 dollar cupcake the flavor should be mindblowing. I do understand being in a mall you may need to charge more for a space and using alcohol cost, but you just have to give more to your customer. Overall rave reviews on the service, but the cakes themselves need improvements! read more
