First special presented was stone crab claws from "Florida Joes" obviously a reference to Joes Stone Crabs. Passed on this special because if I'm paying that price I'll have them in Florida. Salads available in 2 sizes so you don't have to settle for a small common house salad to start. However the flounder special was superb. My guest had the veal chop and said it was excellent. All the fish selections were fresh. Great wine selection. Service was attentive. Went here on a lazy weekend with a good friend to catch up over some good food and I have to say it was spectacular. The seafood was so fresh and so incredible that I was happy to be eating it. The restaurant itself looks like it can hold several parties and doesn't lack for interesting decor but I can see how it would get loud very quickly. The service was the one part that was underwhelming and really did get in the way of the experience. The waiter was very knowledgeable and accommodating throughout the time he was there and then it looks like the waiter switched. Our second waiter seemed impatient and wasn't what you want when you spend that much money. I've had countless dishes that cater to my pescatarian preference. From presentation to palate, each has been a pure sensory delight. I most recently had the crabcake, a tall, savory disk that's generous in meat and light on additives - a facet in which so many other establishments fall short - and nestled atop a perfecfly sauteed cloud of spinach. Not a great experience! I booked a reservation for Saturday afternoon on Open-table for a "2nd floor" view in the dining room. Well, they were having 2 banquets that day and there was no seating available other than in the bar area. No tablecloths, no glasses, a hard and dirty floor with wooden chairs. We placed our order and waited 1 hour before I finally insisted on speaking to the manager. Someone approached me and did not introduce himself and asked me what was the problem. I explained, he left and never returned but the food then came out right away. Mine was cold and my date's was very hot. The waiter was very pleasant but over worked. We could not get our beverages refilled. When he finally did come around he apologized for being so busy "with the banquets". We both started with the collossal shrimp coctail ($22 each, 4 shrimp) and it was excellent. The Seabass was very small but quite tasty ($36) and it came with small potatoes (cold). Her shrimp and scallop pasta meal was quite good (2 Shrimp and 2 large scallop, $45) but way overpriced for the portion. For a light lunch we spent $145 for the meal. $175 with tip and another $10 each way for valet. All in, about $200 and we left hungry and ended up LATE for our next appointment. I cannot recommend this restaurant. If you do go, make sure you do not go on a weekend when they have "banquets". You will not feel like a valued guest. If money is no object, your time is not important to you and you like cold food and a disinterested management, then this is your place! Capitol Grill is much better by far! read more

Went for a friend's birthday (during outdoor dining in the setting of the pandemic). Began dinner at 7:15 and ended at 9:15 with another couple. Final bill was $836 (with 20% tip) mainly due to 2 bottles of wine. We were about to order a 3rd bottle, but the owner's wife asked us to leave after 2 hours.... I ordered 8 oz Prime filet mignon on the menu it's said come with jumbo lump crab, but missing the jumbo lump crab. When I got the bill, they charge me $50 without jumbo lump crab. Can I please leave more than 5 stars?? We came in for a bachelorette dinner, there were 8 of us in total. We rented a private room which was in an amazing wine cellar, and everything from the service to the ambiance to the food itself was top notch. The drinks are strong but enjoyable, the food tastes fresh and the portion sizes are perfect. A wonderful older gentleman came and played the accordion for us. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Our server Mario was absolutely flawless, and we agreed that when we go back, individually or as a group, we'll be requesting him. I can't blame her the scallops looked like they were boiled in water. I been coming to this place for long time. I've had parties, but unfortunately it's time for me to part ways. Two times they were sold out of fish and sent me something different without asking me. They assumed I knew nothing about fish. For Italian food, its def on the higher end price wise, for a reason though! Extremely fresh food with some of the highest quality. I want to start by saying that we have never eaten here when it hasn't been the middle of a pandemic, so choosing Mother's Day during quarantine to give them a try, I'd say part of our lower score may be our fault for not expecting what ended up happening. Thank goodness, we ordered for an early dinner - 2 PM. My husband called the restaurant to confirm our order, and initially, they had trouble finding us. Eventually they did, and we set out to pick up about 1:30. We arrived at 1:45, and we were thanking our lucky stars we chose an early pick up time. The line was already stretched around the building in the back part of the parking lot, and we ended up waiting more than 45 minutes to actually get our meal. We went immediately home, and even though I know to expect some cooling off of stuff in the 15 minute ride home, some of the stuff was downright cold. I'm wondering if it was ready at our appointed 2 PM pick up time, but because of our location in the pickup line, it sat the extra time, cooling off, in the restaurant. This was disappointing. The pluses - We really enjoyed the bread service - both kinds of bread were delicious and plentiful. The food seemed fresh. The seafood didn't smell fishy, the scallops were delicious, the vegetables were tasty and colorful. Portion sizes were very generous. We had leftovers for meals the next day. The tiramisu was really a highlight - one of the best I've had. The minuses - The crab cake would have been a standout meal, with fresh and flavorful lump crab meat. But they incorporated zucchini into the crab cake, which made it have a mushy mouth feel and detracted from the delicious crab flavor. Part of this may have been because of the time that lapsed between it being cooked and being served, but it really wasn't great. The mushroom risotto had SO much truffle oil in it, it was barely edible. I admit to not being a huge fan of truffle oil, but the smell overpowered the dish and ruined the taste - it was just sooo strong. We will definitely try eating here again - there was enough things done right to warrant a legitimate dining attempt on a non-holiday when it's not quarantine. But compared with some other meals we've had from local new-to-us restaurants, this didn't quite stack up. read more

I'd like to begin this review by saying that this was my go-to "impress a date" place when I was in college. Twenty years or so later, I am back in the area, and I brought my girlfriend. As someone who is passionate about memories and tastes, I have certain trepidations. Add in travels to several places around the world to Michelin starred restaurants, taking advantage of restaurant weeks in NYC for several years, and the food scene in any vacation is about half the reason we go. We share everything we order. A waiter with exceptional customer service greeted us and explained the specials. Of course a nice cocktail with bread and olive oil set the tone for a great experience. The meal was just going to get better and better. I had ordered my favorite dish there, a seafood salad with fennel that I have tried to imitate a half dozen times. (I've returned, tasted critically, and tried to figure out what secrets I'm missing...) To me, the dish is perfect. All the fish are cooked perfectly, seasoned to a taste I think is exceptional... I may have to go back this weekend the more I think about it. My other half ordered a large crudo (a sort of Italian cevice) plate that was a special appetizer. (Don't judge us if we order too much food.) I don't think I could catch any fish that fresh and they had, if I recall correctly, sea bass, fluke, tuna, salmon, shrimp, and maybe something else. I have spent far more dollars at sushi restaurants in New York and not been as impressed. Amazing! Her main course was a branzino that another waiter offered to debone table side. If you have never seen this done right, order it just to learn what everyone else is doing wrong. Of course, the fish is fresh and will fall off the bones, but the surgeon like precision... Oh my goodness... I can put that branzino against any I've ordered in Manhattan. The last entre was a langoustine fra diovolo. I had asked for it to be extra spicy and if I have to go nit-picking like some judge on a food show, it could stand a little more heat, but the sauce was fresh and well-seasoned. The langoustine... I'm ordering everything we had again! Go there for the exceptional seafood, great customer service, and modern ultra clean decor. I am a firm believer that if you don't see any negative reviews about a place, something seems off. Food is extremely personal and you cannot please everyone. As for me, I am going back. read more

This is a really nice restaurant, seems like it would be expensive but it really isn't. The complimentary bread and olives are great! They have a good amount of vegetarian options. I got the gnocchi Sorrento, it was delicious! The pasta of great quality. Also the limoncello cake may be the best cake I've ever had, the flavors were balanced perfectly! The waiters are pretty nice as well. Would definitely recommend! I do think they could improve in terms of the aesthetic of the restaurant; they have some decorations that are nice but don't seem to fit well with the building but that's a very minor thing. read more

Had to do a update. We went here for my birthday last night. I ordered the filet, but since I am allergic to seafood I asked for the crab to be removed, I also ordered it medium which is always a pink center. Sometimes a hot pink center. The buffalo mozzarella app was amazing, our server was super nice but I couldn't understand him, nor he us. I asked for salt and he brought me some kind of sauce ( I have no idea what it was). I was to embarrassed to ask again. They kept the filet the same price, even without the crab on it. My steak was well done, but also obviously had the crab on it then was taken off. How do I know this??? I'm going to say it could be my tongue swelling out of my mouth a hour later. Our bill was 170 with tip for two people and I only had a glass on wine and him two beers. If my steak was cooked correctly, it happens but because of the reaction, I know there was shellfish on that steak and was taken off. So never read more
