My husband and I have been here on occasion. We went out last night and our server was delightful. He informed us of the specials and such. We did order a bottle of wine and cocktails as well as appetizers. They came as described and were pretty underwhelming. He got the homemade ravioli which was shrimp with scallops. It was great to be honest. The sauce was amazing. I ordered a filet (mid rare) which came harshly overcooked. We decided to finish our meals and get desserts to go-cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. We came home, not even 2 miles down the road, and tried the cheesecake. It was underwhelming and had a strawberry glaze which tasted like it was out of a jar. I will probably choose to go across the bridge to Philly next time. read more

If you are going to be invited to a private party at Caffe Aldo Lamberti's, do not even think about saying no. Just go! We were privileged to be included as guests at a private party held in one of the wine cellars in the lower level. We had no idea that the party would be an on-going food fest for FIVE hours. That's right - the party started at 5:30 PM and we didn't get back upstairs to get our valet until almost 11:00 PM. The appetizers were amazing - divine scallops, roasted lamb lollipops, cantaloupe and prosciutto, stuffed mushrooms, caviar on toast points and chopped hard boiled eggs, just to mention a few. Wine was free flowing (thanks to our hosts) and the servers were constantly navigating through the small crowd to make sure no one's glasses were empty for too long. The table held giant platters of incredible seafood - fresh lobster, cracked Alaskan king crab legs, oysters, clams, calamari, colossal shrimp. We had our choice of main dishes, so I opted for the filet mignon and shrimp while my dining partner had the black sea bass. Finally, for dessert, we had simply the best cake I've had in years - white with light fluffy buttercream frosting, layered with frosting that had shaved chocolate. Just superb. The only downside was that between the main courses, our party experienced pretty variable serving times. Dishes started coming out perhaps 30 minutes or more after we ordered them, and some people did not get theirs for nearly an hour. Hence, it's awkward to have a fine meal like this when half the table is still waiting for their dishes to arrive. Overall, just a lovely night and well worth spending five hours in a cellar! read more

Five stars for sure! I have now been to this beautiful and elegant restaurant two times and have grown to love it already. I celebrated my 30th birthday here with dinner with a few friends. There are many things I want to point out as to why this is an excellent choice for both a celebratory dinner as well as getting together with a friend to chat over some exquisite cuisine. To begin, the free valet service offered is a wonderful thing (of course tipping is a generous thought to have). You pull up to the front door of the restaurant to be given a friendly greeting before they valet your car for you. Also, the temperature inside is ideal. I wore a dress with no sleeves and I was very comfortable. I brought an extra cardigan and didn't even need it, and I am someone who is always cold. The menu is not small by any means, which is usually the case for higher end restaurants. There are numerous specials every time you go in. I'm talking so many you might have to ask your server to repeat them! The seafood here is as fresh as it gets. They even offer whole fish that can be filleted right at the table. The appetizers are absolutely scrumptious. I highly recommend the Maine lobster and asparagus salad - amazing!!! I ordered the flounder special and it was outstanding. My friends all loved their meals as well. The dessert menu is decent and the prices are actually not bad! However, expect to spend a pretty penny here by the end, but it's worth it for all of the delicious food! You can absolutely come here and order just one meal each to help cut down the bill, but trust me - you'll want to order more! During dinner time on the weekends, a wonderful Italian man walks around playing Italian music on the accordion. It really tops off the night and sets the mood. I have attached a photo from a video of this happening next to me at my dinner. What a nice man he was as well as he finished his solo by telling us he hopes we enjoy our meals and the rest of our night. Also, for birthdays they serve your dessert with a large sparkler (see photos). Exquisite! Additionally, the atmosphere here is absolutely breathtaking. The lighting is romantic and there is also lighted decor. The outdoor section is super cute, but the inside is elegant. There are so many rooms here, they can accommodate many guests! I feel this would help with fitting in those last minute reservations. The servers here are also very polite and take care of you very well during the meal (wipe away crumbs and provide new napkins anytime you get up from your seat to use the restroom). All in all, this is my new go to restaurant for special occasions (or just to meet a friend for dinner). I usually come here about once a year and have been for the last 3 years or so. While it is pricey, I must admit the food and drink here is a of a very high quality and I truly enjoy every experience ive had here thus far. The bread they provide, especially the tomato bread, is addicting and will leave you asking for a third helping! The pastas are amazing, highly recommend any gnocchi dish. Ive also had their branzino, which was featured as a special. Seafood in general at this restaurant has always been a great experience for me. For the area, I would certainly give it five stars but, it seems that an establishment such as this needs to be judged In better company. I believe that café Aldo Lamberti would fit well into the ranks of those in Philadelphia or Manhattan. My friend and I went for lunch and we were able to be seated right away. It was raining when we got there so the valet guy was super nice and escorted us from the car to the awning under an umbrella. Once we were seated, we were given menus right away and looked it over. The inside of the restaurant is very nice. They had music playing in the background. Our server was very personal and had conversations with us throughout the meal. Honestly, everything there looked amazing and it was hard to narrow down. We started off with the appetizers - calamari, scallops and a Maine lobster salad. The calamari was lightly breaded and fried, not greasy at all. Tasted delicious. The scallops were incredible. They were served on a beautiful shell. The main lobster and asparagus salad was also very good. Our entrees were absolutely delicious. The pappardelle bolognese was so fresh and tasty. We also got a lump crab cake as well and it was massive. There was so much crab meat in there, you will not be disappointed. Overall, I would get every dish again! I can cook them to perfection. My wife had the fish and it looked like they ran out of fish and it was mostly skin and covered up with tomatoes and sauce. She separated it and it was all skin and tail. First I went here because I wanted to go somewhere where the food is exceptional. The food is not exceptional here and not worth the money. It had been at least five years since my first and only visit to Caffe Aldo Lamberti when I chose it as the venue for my birthday dinner with family. I booked several weeks in advance with specific requests via OpenTable: Quiet area, away from AC vents, and a patient server who wouldn't mind a line of questioning. Admittedly our meal got off to a rocky start. We walked into a loud dining area and the hostess wanted to seat us at the very first table you see upon entrance. I'd rather not get bumped or feel people walk by all the time. Our only other option was to be wedged into the corner next to the glass facade along the vents. But rather than a chill, it was muggy hot in there the whole time. I'm thinking the AC was out of service. Our server wasn't too jovial or accommodating at first. My mom requested a photo and he looked so stressed by the inquiry. He ran off and served three other tables before returning. He also wouldn't oblige when I asked for an angle change, so the shots are fairly awkward. But, then my grandmom mentioned it was my birthday and his demeanor totally changed for the better. He was so much more pleasant, our food came out on a nice schedule, and he even sang happy birthday solo over dessert. It was so fun! By the time we left, he shook my hand and wished me the best. I appreciated that. The real star at this spot is the food. From the savory bread coupled with top-tier olive oil and green olives to the delicate entrees and unique desserts, everything truly was perfect. I purchased the fettuccini alfredo with grilled chicken, and added three spoonfuls of Parmesan and a little red pepper. So tasty and filling! Both my mom and grandmom also loved their meals, which is a true feat and extremely rare. I told the manager as such when he stopped by. It's nearly impossible to please my 100% Sicilian grandmother outside of her own kitchen, but this restaurant sure did with a seafood pasta entree filled with clams, mussels, etc. My mom was also a huge fan of the frozen almond mousse. She didn't know how to describe it but scarfed the whole thing down in record time. I split the chocolate chip cake with my grandmother and we were both fans. Second time here and I have to say I'm not overly impressed. This time went for happy hour and was disappointed. The discounted apps for happy hour were all vegetarian (no pictures of those) next to the French fries they are the lowest priced items on the menu. The zucchini flatbread was delicious as where the fried zucchini sticks the hummus and bean spread where fine. Our server was friendly and cute. Apps seemed to take a long time even though the bar wasn't that busy when we got there. The following apps we ordered (pictures included) were very tasty. Wow this place is impressive! I came here with my family for a surprise party in the wine cellar for my cousin and I was so impressed by this restaurant. Having passed Caffe Aldo Lamberti for years now I always saw it was a bougie place that I'd never go to, but having been there I would love to come back. The party was held in the wine cellar, like I mentioned earlier, which meant it was frigid in there with minimal changes in temperature. With that said the staff was very attentive and polite and someone from upstairs came down to play the accordion for us! My main issue with this restaurant was that quality of the food for our party. I wasn't sure if it was a set menu, but my Penne Vodka, the veal, and lemon chicken was not the best. I would say that the crusted salmon, however, was amazing! I hope to come back again but in the main dining area to experience the dope ambiance, music, and main dishes. read more

What a fabulous place, what a feast! My lovely GF and I met up with friends who live in Cherry Hill, and they suggested one of their fave places. We arrived on a lovely Saturday evening. We dined in the semi-covered garden, which was both lovely and covid-safe. We were seated quickly, and the service was excellent. The bread and olive oil to start was great, and we enjoyed our appetizers - the zucchini fritti was particularly great. I went with a recommendation and am glad I did - the Fantasia di Mare was chock full of fresh seafood and served over paccheri pasta, which was a nice change. Came here for a group function so the menu was pre arranged. I went to the bar first and had a delicious lemon drop cocktail. Sarah was an attentive and talented bartender. I liked the way the light came into the bar during the day. I moved to our private room. The basket of bread came around with an addictive pizza bread. Our waiter Michael warned us! Speaking of our waiter, he had the patience of a saint and was great with the numerous kids in our group. He appeared immediately and he watched the table like a hawk- picking up empties and clearing constantly. He took care of our orders and everything came out as ordered. We ordered three orders of fried calamari for the table. It was good but needed salt. The house salad was refreshing. It had various lettuce types, a tomatoe, and cheese. Of the five entree choices, I chose the branzino. The branzino was incredible. A slightly smoky flavor. Loved the broccoli rabe side too (substitute). Perfectly done- not overdone. This restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. You could tell many people were celebrating different events, however they also had the casual visitors that just wanted a nice place to eat. They had a nice wine list with some Italian and California Wines. They also had a good selection of starters and the option to make the pastas into an entree, or a side if you wanted it to complement a different entree. That was very nice and flexible of them to offer. They offered a sweet potato gnocchi which I thought was inventive to try. We ordered it but wouldn't recommend it. It was a good try, but I believe the regular gnocchi is more tasty. I had the Salmon with spinach and potatoes. I would have traded the spinach and potatoes for the vegetables the veal came with if I had know that was an option. So I give them high marks for their desire to create a meal to your satisfaction. My boyfriend and I dined tonight for my graduation dinner and our 3.5 year anniversary. Our server Luis, was great. This review has nothing to do with his service but more so the overall experience from Cafe. We have been here many times, enjoying it thoroughly and always wanting to come back. Tonight I ordered the Fantasia da Mare and it was off. All of the seafood was fishy, and the shrimp were completely over cooked. My boyfriend ordered steak medium rare, and it was a bit over that. The issue has more to do with the kitchen than anything else. We let Luis know about our meal and he let the manager know. He also offered me something else along with taking my wine off the check. However, to have a $50 meal charged when I had hardly eaten three bites, and asked for it to be taken from the table, left a poor taste in our mouths. My husband and I dined there last night and I must say how much we enjoyed it. The decor is beautiful and romantic and the food was positively delicious. My husband had the French onion soup and it was a huge bowl that he loved. He requested a simply prepared fish, and they accommodated him. I had the rigatoni à la Nona and that was lovely. A nice bottle of wine and a Caesar salad completed the meal. They had a really nice crowd, and while it's pricier than the average Italian restaurant, the difference is the quality and the service. Ordered take out. the young lady that took my order was very pleasant and well as the girl that brought my order to the car. I was told that it will be ready at 6:30pm and they were right on time. I haven't been here in about 6 years. I ordered Paccheri Amatriciana for me and Veal Marsala for my husband. The food came with house bread and pizza bread. As soon as I picked up the order I opened the pizza bread and OMG! That was delicious. The sauce taste so fresh! My Paccheri Amatriciana was perfect, it was so fresh, the pasta was cooked perfectly, I finished the sauce with the house bread. My husband loved the veal Marsala, he enjoyed it so much that he left some sauce on his plate and said to me "don't throw it away" (I guess he's coming back to that later, LOL). We hosted a baby shower here last weekend. The room was beautiful. We worked with a lovely planner. She was unfortunately not there the day of the event, despite there being a 3% party planning fee, and there were major issues. The entire event was 3 hours. The entrees took nearly 2 hours to come out after orders were taken. After the event, when we discussed this further with George, the manager, he blamed us stating that our guests were not seated when they were supposed to. First, they never gave us an exact time for seating, but everyone was seated within 10 minutes of the time they wanted. Several guests had to leave early (2-2.5 hours into the event) without their food. Additionally, a table of guests ordered a type of wine that was not in our prix fixe. Rather than redirecting them to included options, staff served them the requested wine and then charged them. When I brought this up to George, he was adamant that his bartender made it clear. Our friends said no one did, and they certainly would have ordered a different wine that was included had they been told. George was actually quite offensive during this part of the conversation, raising his voice, speaking abrasively, and telling me that he would happily refund them and then charge it to my card instead. While the food was good, several guests did not get the right meal, and several guests reported their portion was abnormally small. Additionally, I questioned him regarding the party planning fee given that there was no one there the day of the event. His response was that the 3% had already been distributed. I was unimpressed with his customer service and people skills. He became very abrasive and raised his voice during this conversation despite me staying calm and not raising my voice at all. They offered $175 off a nearly $4,000 bill. Maybe for a night out they perform better, but I would be wary hosting larger events here. read more
