I am giving four stars for the ambiance! Lovely decorated interior, comfortable and inviting to hang out with friends or work. Great for people watching :) . Just like every other chain coffee place around town, on like every other corner. Same old, same old. They have a lot of work to do cause this place ain't worth it. Although they have more than just coffee & breakfast stuff, it's nothing special. I was at an event in the area & was looking for a chocolate chip cookie or similar, but no luck. I decided to check out what they had, which was not really much of anything. Also, who knows how long it's been there? I found each café was a charming little coffee shop, unique in its own way, yet all shared a delightful theme that felt like a cozy library or bookstore. Quite literally one of the Worst strawberry Matchas I've ever had. It didn't taste like matcha at all and the strawberry syrup from a bottle feels like false advertising compared the photo they have advertising the matcha. The Staff at this location are also incredibly rude and inhospitable. The whole time I was in front of the bar waiting the barista didn't interact with anymore until it was my turn and he just said "what do you want" and after I nicely asked for my drink he still didn't say anything just rung the total up and walked away and then handed off the drink in silence! There are a bunch of Caffè Nero locations around, but this is one of my favorites. Whenever I'm in the city and I have some time to kill, I head over and find a cozy spot to pass the time. It's usually pretty busy, but generally there are open tables and booths available. Their drinks and baked goods aren't anything especially unique or delicious, but they get the job done. Most Caffe Nero's are about the same - you can get a decent cup of cappuccino and decently satisfying baked good or sandwich, and expect a decent level of service. So I was quite surprised by how belligerent the server was when I asked for a decaf cappuccino. He said "What?!" somewhat pointedly and proceeded to mansplain what coffee products they didn't have in decaf (which I hadn't asked for), and then was perceptibly impatient when I asked him to show me the difference between the medium and large size cups. Came here to work and ordered a cold brew with the seasonal pumpkin cold foam & and italian ciabatta. The drink was perfect, but the pumpkin flavor could have been slightly more pumpkin-y! The sandwich was perfect, no complaints. Have plenty of seating available, but mid afternoon on a Sunday I had to walk around for a bit before finding a nice spot in the corner. Had to unfortunately leave early because a giant street party started right outside the shop and the bass was overwhelming, even with headphones in, but that's nothing the cafe can control. Service was kind and efficient! Would definitely revisit this location, but probably on a weekday instead of a weekend. read more

When she rung us up she didn't know how to put the combo in the machine and after patiently waiting she got frustrated and proclaimed "I can't get it to work this is the price, what do you want to do?!" We were shocked at this and when we inquired as to whether the machine was the issue she walked off and just didn't come back. I'd give this a 0 star if I could. Cute spot if you're looking to study, catch up with friends, or grab a coffee/drinks /snacks. The aesthetics of this two-story café makes me so happy with books lining the walls, exposed industrial pipes, a long community table running down the center, and cute chandeliers. & it seems like I am not the only one who appreciated the aesthetic as part of the fun of getting work done here was watching groups of people having mini photoshoots (some more slyly than others) using the charming café as their backdrop and their cups of coffee as their props.   I am not a coffee drinker, so I got their hot chocolate, which was delightfully very rich in chocolate flavor. My only grievance was that it took forever to get my drink. There was only 1 person working behind the counter and I found it be hugely ineffective that the barista would go down the line of people to ask for their orders, only to have them forget it by the time you made it to the front so you had to recite your order all over again. Other than that, it is a pretty solid place to get some studying done if you can work through the hustle and bustle of people coming in and out. Almost skipped this place today after seeing so many three stars reviews. So I decided to waste my time and start reading some...(the stuff was nice, the orange juice fresh, but the bacon croissant wasn't filling enough, but it tasted great! And boooom fantastic reason do take down 2 stars! He probably sees himself as a great food critic now) So I decided to try it for myself! The barista was really nice, the latte was great and big surprise, the bacon croissant was great too. And not only that, but I could barely finish it! My Yorkie actually had to help me with it! I just hope that when people decide to take in consideration Yelp for food recommendations and see one, two or three stars they can take the time to read the 'issues' and give restaurants a try. A worker, assuming she was the manager, was very rude. She wore red glasses while working on March 18. I ordered a croissant and coffee, sat, and worked in this Caffè Nero. My roommate met me to work on some homework, too. She walked in with an almost empty Starbucks drink and was immediately met with hostility from the staff. They did not verbally say anything to her about the Starbucks drink when she walked in, but they were physically trying to block her from entering the store without telling her what the issue was. My roommate came to sit with me, and a woman who claimed to work there approached us. She told my roommate that she needed to leave the store immediately and reprimanded her for about a minute while having an extremely rude tone. My roommate was embarrassed because the woman said all of this in the busiest section of the store. It felt like public humiliation. My roommate was genuinely going to buy food after she put her bag down with me, but the manager immediately assumed she wouldn't order anything and kicked her out. Both my roommate and I understood where she was coming from regarding the Starbucks drink, but there was no need for the extremely rude tone and immediate assumptions that she wouldn't purchase anything. My roommate was in the store for 1 minute, got told off, and was kicked out. If the manager had approached my roommate in a kind and understanding tone, we would've respected her and completely understood the situation. This was not the case since she was rude about the whole situation. We are both very upset and disappointed by this specific Caffe Nero, and we hope they know that they lost two local and dedicated customers today. read more

There is zero sense of urgency which explains why it takes up to 15 min for each customer order to be fulfilled.
