A 10" matcha crepe cake traveled fine and held shape, though it should be refrigerated. We cut enough small slices for 20 people and it was really delicious. Desserts were okay. The lady in the front was very nice and I like they had games there. The cocoa dust on top of the chocolate crepe cake was bitter and I didn't like that taste. We tried the summer cream puffs, which were good. We also tried the baked vanilla cheesecake and the frozen circle cheesecake, was very light and not super sweet if you like that better. The cafe's interior colors were inviting but the floor was dirty. They sell an array of Mille crepes and ice cream. I bought summer puffs, Nutella chocolate Mille crepe, and Oreo Mille crepe. The summer puffs were choux pastry coated with hardened chocolate, and inside filled with different ice cream flavors. The summer puffs were not good. The ice cream flavors were tasteless. Matcha flavor that didn't have matcha taste, vanilla didn't have vanilla taste. The Mille crepes were disastrous too. I expected strong Nutella and chocolate flavor but I got colored, no flavor thin crepe layers. The whipped cream was almost non-existent. Service was meh. I wouldn't be back for sure. read more

It was my first time to try this dessert place . I'm glad I tried their 4-piece crepe slice and the durian crepe is out-of-this-world! The vanilla caramel crepe was also good , but not as good as the durian . The tiramisu was a little on the bitter side- too much espresso and the passion fruit on the sweeter side . The strawberry cream cake was overall ok. The sponge cake was perfect and the sweetness of the cream was just right. I'm rating my experience a 4 out of 5 primarily because of the durian. Woah what a hidden gem. This is basically another lady m crepe cake. I am beyond impressed that someone else was able to replicate their recipe. It's the strong matcha taste with extremely thin crepes and creamy filling that makes them on the same level as lady m. If you're a matcha lover and want some legit desert, you must come here. I ordered a last minute cake and they are able to accommodate. Additionally, they waited after hours for me to pick it up! I was stuck at work and gave them a call 20 mins before closing that I was 4 7 mins away and they waited! That really made my day. They also have other Asian goodies such as durian and rose. This place is hidden inside an office tower and I would have never found it on my own. There is two hour visitor parking available at the front entrance and lots of other spots if you can find one that's not already occupied. The cafe is located on the first floor of the building, just look for their Cafetopia logo. Once you step foot behind their glass door, you'll see the bakery case immediately to your right. They also have a lunch menu featuring some Taiwan style dishes but I came just for their desserts. The matcha crepe cake and tiramisu crepe cake are the best in my opinion, with perfectly layered thin crepes and full of flavor. The matcha is the more concentrated kind and not your subtle and light tea flavor (and that's how I like it...strong!) The tiramisu was a nice rendition of the traditional that had a creamy and smooth finish. I also tried the mango crepe cake which presented itself in similar fashion to the other two, but the mango was too tart for my taste and it lacked the creamy texture. My friend who tried their durian crepe enjoyed it with no complaints although this cake was pricier than the rest. Lastly, I bought a few matcha mini cream puffs for a dollar a piece to try. It was worth it! The buttery and sugary baked top was a very good texture to the creamy green tea whipped cream like consistency filling inside each puff. I hope to get more of the cream puffs next time I go. They wrap each of the items separately in boxes so you don't have to worry about the desserts interacting with each other especially if you can't stand durian (stinky fruit, as some would say). The goods were transported safely from the cafe to my home inside the back of my car...no problem. Awesome crepe cakes for most part and looking forward to trying more items. read more

My younger sister had tried Lady M in New York, and was looking for another place that served strawberry crepe cakes, so I suggested we give Cafetopia a try. For our visit, we got a slice of their vanilla and caramel crepe cake, strawberry crepe cake, and chocolate nutella crepe cake. However, they seem to rotate the flavors out regularly from the options on their menu. Each slice was ~$7, but they also sell whole cakes that you can pre-order. All of the crepe cakes were deliciously light and fluffy with layers of cream between 25 layers of crepes. Out of the three we tried, the vanilla caramel was my favorite. However, all three were great, and not overly sweet. The only thing I wouldn't recommend from the cafe is their milk tea. The boba was a tad undercooked, and the milk tea was a bit bland. However he was able to snag me two matcha and one durian, as well as 2 vanilla cream puffs. The matcha crepe cakes are very solid, good emphasis on the matcha but could be a bit creamier (haven't tried the durian yet, will report back). The vanilla cream puff had a taste of coconut which I'm super into, but I do wish they were a lot bigger. They're essentially bite sized, but also only a dollar. I ordered peach green tea with popping boba. But did not know what flavor popping boba there was so I asked. The cashier didn't know what I was talking about. She had to go to the back. It literally felt like it took 5~10 min to make my drink and we were the only ones there. I saw her making my peach tea and she was pouring the tea into my cup but didn't see the popping boba. She added the boba after pouring the drink. To find out it wasn't even popping boba. Still to do this day i don't know what I ate but it was something mango but not popping boba. Pretty good cakes that are a little bit on the high end pricing wise. My siblings and I stopped by here for dessert after finishing breakfast at First Watch. Apparently their location used to be in a hard to find office building, but they moved to their own stand alone store so it's easier to find now! We ordered 2 of the vanilla caramel cake, 1 strawberry cake, and 1 Nutella cake. At the time we went, they had a buy 1 get one 50% off deal which was really nice. I tried my sister's vanilla caramel cake, and it was pretty good. It had a nice sweet flavor to it, but it wasn't too sweet. The strawberry cake was meh. All of the cakes were pretty enjoyable since they're so airy and light. I had Lady M while visiting New York, and I thought that Lady M was better than Cafetopia. I see a lot of other reviewers disagree though, and to each their own! The strawberries in my cake weren't sweet, and there wasn't much flavor to the cake. I had big regrets going with the strawberry instead of the vanilla. I sat there in envy as I watched my sister eat her delicious cake, while I was stuck with my somewhat bland cake. LOL. The Nutella cake was okay. It was better than the strawberry one, but not better than the vanilla. It just tasted like cocoa powder, and it didn't really have much going for it. It wasn't overly sweet, and it wasn't bland like the strawberry one. All in all, it was pretty decent. If I lived in Houston, I probably wouldn't come back. $7 is not worth it for my bland cake! It was my daughters 21 st birthday. She really wanted a matcha crepe cake. She found Cafetopia on yelp and it had good reviews. We sang happy Birthday to her and cut the cake. I passed out the cake everyone took a bite and it was disgusting the taste was so horrible kinda like dirt. My daughter was so upset because she had tasted a friends matcha crepe cake before and loved it. The cake is expensive $94.00 including tip. What a waste of money. I've been wanting to try this place for so long, but they were inside a building and only opened during the weekdays. Later I found out they closed and was disappointed that I never got to try it. I was searching something on Yelp one day and came across that they moved to a new location and IS OPEN on the weekend! I went during their Moon Cake Festival promotion which was Buy 1 get 1 50% off. Their Oolong Oreo Crepe cake is to die for. Who would have thought these two flavors go so well together.
