Escargot
Samantha B.

Came here on a weeknight with my bf. Parking in the area is a little hard but he found somewhere to park a couple blocks down. The place itself is tight and small, the tables are close to one another. We sat in the outside area and had a nice server. We ordered the Conch Carpaccio, the Artichoke Aphrodisiac and the Escargot a la Bourguignon. We enjoyed all of these appetizers a lot. The Artichoke Aphrodisiac sauce was really good. The conch carpaccio was fresh and delicious and the escargots were good. Will definitely want to come back and try more items off the menu but so far we enjoyed what we had here!

Great Hog snapper specialty of the house. Beautiful setting and service was pretty good. Definitely worth a visit!

Get the hogfish! We have eaten everywhere on the island, literally and this is hands down our favorite. Far away from the crowd where the food has to shine. And it does. Lots of outdoor seating which is always nice when the weather cooperates. We always love our meals here. Vibes are immaculate.

Key lime pie

Café Sole is a cute little restaurant with the perfect romantic vibes--cozy, intimate, and just the right spot for a relaxed evening in Key West. Hands down, they serve the BEST Key lime pie in town. We always order two slices to enjoy right at the bar, plus a whole pie to take home. The pie's texture is rich and creamy, and the sweet meringue topping isn't overpowering--it perfectly balances the slight tartness of the lime filling. Honestly, it's addictive! This visit we tried some apps too--the clam linguini was flavorful and fresh, and the lobster bisque was rich and satisfying with generous chunks of lobster. The bartender recommended a lovely glass of Riesling that paired beautifully with our seafood dishes. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. We're definitely coming back next time for dinner to try more from the menu! If you're in Key West, don't miss Café Solé--and definitely don't leave without trying that Key lime pie!

This key lime pie with amaretto laced Chantilly cream was divine!

We had an excellent meal on Thanksgiving night at this charming restaurant on the romantic walled in open air patio. Unique take on fois gras to start then I had the Hogfish (which melted in your mouth just like our waiter Max said it would) and hubby had the Thanksgiving plate which was surprisingly fantastic! Oh and the KLP! Wow. We had a lovely time and would return. They offer wine by the glass in the teeny waiting area which was a unique and nice touch. Merci Cafe Sole!

We had our last dinner in Key West at Cafe Sole! It's hidden off the beaten path on a quiet street and it is the perfect spot for a romantic date night and some of the most delicious food! We ordered the stone crab claw clusters and the special shrimp ceviche for appetizers and they were both delicious! For dinner we had their speciality the Hogfish & I got the fruit of the sea (seafood pasta) the angel hair was cooked perfectly and the fish was some of the best we have ever eaten. The service was great, they have a huge wine selection and got the dessert trio which was a perfect combo of crème brûlée (our favorite) key lime pie and pecan pie and ice cream! Highly recommend this place for dinner!

Duck a l'orange. So good!

We had Cafe Sole recommended to us by two different locals touting the duck as outstanding. Cute little cafe well off Duval with a covered & walled patio as well as inside and on street tables. Our server, Allan, was very helpful and friendly. Great wine list by the glass, as well as bottles. Almost every bottle was available by the glass. (Note: they do NOT have a full bar) We started with the Beet and goat cheese with arugula and raspberry truffle vinaigrette salad. The kitchen was kind enough to split it for us to share. This salad was outstanding. The flavors melded so well, and you could taste the truffle (but you weren't gone to burp it up for the next 12 hours, haha) My husband got their specialty, the Hogfish snapper Sole which was very tender with a wonderfully rich hollandaise sauce. It was served with mashed potatoes, risotto, carrots and beans (Lima beans?) I got the Duck a L'orange, which was delicious. It was 2 drumsticks & thighs. The first one was cooked PERFECTLY, though the second one on the plate was overdone and dry - but still great flavor. The l'orange sauce had a nice spice to it. It was served with asparagus and broccolini, mashed potatoes and a roasted tomato. We would have tried the desserts (they looked very good), but we had to meet folks elsewhere. Definitely a place to try if you want to get away from Duvall street. Make a reservation!

Back to Café Sole, and it was just as amazing as the first time! The service was spot on super friendly, and made us feel right at home. The cozy welcoming vibe sets the perfect mood, but it's the food that truly steals the show. Every dish is packed with flavor and creativity just unforgettable. We'll definitely be back to Café Sole season after season!

A fantastic shrimp scampi I will never forget. Everything about Sole was equally beautiful and delicious. The outdoor seating we had was charming and majestic with a very classy appeal. It gave off an intimate vibe despite the amount of seating. My beef carpaccio had a thinly cut freshness that was a good teaser for the rest of my meal. My highlight was my shrimp scampi that I couldn't give enough praise for. I'd go back here just to order this again. The noodles absorbed the sum of its parts so well with the oil and sauce. I don't know how else to describe how it tasted so good. I really enjoyed the key lime pie as well. I found torching the cream on top slightly unnecessary, the cake itself along with the graham cracker crust more than made up for it (which honestly didn't really need to be made up for.) The staff was exceptional as well. We didn't have to wait long for service and everything came as expected. They gave us good wine recommendations as well.

Divers scallops with shrimp

We made reservations in advance at an early hour, 5:30 (they open at 5) as we had an event to attend and we were promptly seated. The restaurant was better than half full and I can imagine that they just kept getting busier. Warm, French style bread with an herbed compound type butter followed our being seated along with drink and food menus. The wine menu is extensive. My husband ordered two appetizers for dinner so as to save room for key lime pie; French onion soup and a pear/blue cheese salad. The salad was very large and he was unable/unwilling to finish it lol. The soup was very hot, thick and tasty. I ordered the diver scallops with shrimp. They were beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. They came with a bearnaise sauce and were accompanied by mashed potatoes, beans (fava?), shredded sweetened carrots, rice and tomato Provençal. Of the four items, i tried them all but I only ate the carrots. I may have been missing something but the sides were very bland. The key lime pie was gorgeously presented and an unusual take from the traditional pie. It was delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the rest rooms were clean. I am glad that we came and would like to try again.

This place is amazing! A very intimate atmosphere with a few tables inside and a few more outside. Our server was fantastic and informative about the dishes. Everything we got for food was amazing, the fish was fresh, the lobster bisque was amazing and the key lime pie fantastic. They only serve wine and beer no cocktails but they have a good selection. A great date night spot as it's super quiet and cute inside. Amazing place!

Lobster Bisque

Had dinner here Saturday night 7/22. Service was top notch. Atmosphere was very nice. We had 2 orders of French Onion soup. Way too heavy on the sherry. 1 order of lobster bisque that was absolutely amazing. Filet Mignon was superb, the duck L'orange was superb as well. The mashed potatoes were awesome. My wife had the Saganaki for her entree and she said it was good. Desert was Key Lime pie topped with meringue. You could barely taste the lime flavor. We did enjoy our meal. It's definitely worth a try for other newcomers.

A Key West solid perennial standard with the famous Hogfish, their most popular dish. Casual historic atmosphere, very good service.

From Maraylamd, Texas and to the Low Country of Charlestin SC, but I have never had as tasty of Broil as I just had at the Yummy Crab in Key West Florida. I mean this place was absolutely amazing! The flavor of every piece of crab, corn, crawfish, shrimp, sasauge and potatoes in the dripping wet cajun sauce served in a bag to retain all that juice, flavor and aroma was all nearly too much to contain. So glad of all the wonderful places on the island we had to eat we chose this place. Thank you Jackie for your outstanding hospitality and service. You are amazing!

The fried oysters had a but if a fishy taste no go. I know a lot of places weights the seafood but the portions when they came out it was more like they added more corn and potatoes. For the price definitely wasn't worth it.

A must visit in key west!…read more Reservations for outside I have heard sell out weeks in advance. We were able to get a reservation inside. I was a little bummed we didn't get to see the view, but the ambiance inside is lovely too. Their menus light up which was so helpful in a dark restaurant. Our server was super helpful and made some great recommendations. We tried a few different small plates to share and enjoyed a few cocktails. Absolutely love the desserts here. The bread pudding and key lime pie were to die for! Price wise this was a bit expensive but we paid comparable for less nice places in key west so I would say this is 100% worth a stop.

It was a beautiful evening, and we were seated with a lovely view of the waterfront. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and we were happy we chose this restaurant. Food: I always enjoy when a restaurant offers a creative and inventive cocktail menu. I won't go into detail on each one, but they were all very good, especially the Spiced Old Fashioned. At our server's suggestion, we ordered a couple of plates of the Grilled Ciabatta Bread. The bread was nicely grilled, and the roasted garlic manchego butter made it especially delicious. I normally try not to fill up on bread, but this was absolutely worth it. We ordered an eclectic mix of small and large plates. Some of the standout dishes included the Lobster Mac and Cheese, Swordfish, and Crab Cake. The Brussels sprouts took top honors, perfectly roasted without being greasy, full of flavor, and complemented by a generous amount of bacon. The one disappointment was the Pork Shank Osso Buco. While it was tender, it was only warm and a bit underseasoned. It was good, but not great, especially for someone who enjoys pork shank dishes. We saved room for dessert, and they were all crowd pleasers. My personal favorite was the Cuban Bread Pudding. The Chocolate Pistachio Crème Brûlée was also unique and delicious. Service: We had reservations for 7:30 and were seated promptly. The hostess and our server did a great job of making us feel welcome. The entire two-hour meal was well paced, and we always felt attended to. I was especially impressed with the backlit menu portfolios. They made it easy to read in the evening without guests needing to use their phone flashlights, which was a thoughtful and effective use of technology. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they placed a sign on the table acknowledging the occasion, which was a nice touch. It would have been even better if one of the desserts had included a lit candle. Atmosphere: The setting is beautiful. We were seated in a smaller dining room with several other tables. When we first arrived, there was a larger, very boisterous group nearby, and it made it difficult to hear our server. Fortunately, they left about 30 minutes into our meal, and the atmosphere became much more relaxed and enjoyable. Our waterfront view added to the experience. This was a very special evening. It was also the most expensive meal we had in Key West, so it was reasonable to have high expectations. With a few improvements, it could have been a five-star experience. Definitely a place we would return to.
