When the food came, quality was ok. My eggs Benedict and potatoes were barely warmer than room temperature. Dissapointing cold eggs Benedict. They don't poach their eggs to order. They are cooked earlier and stored in cold water until ordered , then they are re-poached . Came back to visit Cafe Seventy Two with my favorite person this time. I had been here with my girl friends a few months ago and had a lovely experience. Today we were able to sit outside which was even better. I ordered the Florentine Eggs Benedict just as last time and it was great, highly recommend. Also ordered a vanilla iced latte this time and it was very good. My husband ordered a specialty drink of the day the Salted Caramel Affogato, it was good but kinda messy. The drink includes ice cream, espresso, cream, and whipped cream with toppings, we thought it was a little odd that the ice cream hadn't been blended with the coffee which made it difficult to drink and ended up being very messy. Other than that the flavors were yummy although definitely a little sweet, which was expected. He also ordered the Ultimate Combo and liked it very much. He particularly loved the pancakes which were nice and fluffy. The 4 stars today are only because it took quite some time before someone took our order. They were quite full, but we sat quickly, after that it took a good 30 minutes before a waitress came by. After that everything went very smoothly. Drinks came quick and the food shortly after. What happened to this place? I discovered CAFE Seventy Two last year (thanks to Yelp) and had a great experience. The interesting menu, cute decor, delicious food, friendly staff would've warranted 5 stars for this brunch spot. I recently returned and wondered if I had eaten at the same restaurant... This place is super popular for weekend brunch which often means long wait times. I've never had to wait more than 30min for a table of two, which isn't too bad. I also found it to be a nice touch that they offer complimentary self-serve hot/iced coffee in the outdoor waiting area. However, beware of those thirsty bees! On my most recent visit, I ordered the classic breakfast combo, which comes with your choice of meat, toast, eggs, coffee/tea and homefries/fruit. Standard brunch staples that you can't really screw up. Right? Right. Well, our food ended up taking awhile and by the time I received my entree, everything on my plate seemed overcooked. From the eggs, my burnt biscuit and the turkey sausage that was barely edible. The food was extremely underwhelming compared to my first visit and I was busy swatting away the flies that tried to land in my meal. Adding an extra star because our server was very nice. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. You'd probably be more satisfied eating at McDonald's. read more

I used to come here a lot and the food was always decent but the ambiance was meh. I haven't been here in years and it turns out that they upgraded the patio and it has a really nice vibe. It used to have broken concrete out front. Now there are pavers, turf, iron tables and umbrellas. There are plant boxes that help screen the busy street. It also helps that Marsilios across the street updated too, so the area doesn't feel so run down anymore. They have the best brunch menu around and the service is usually pretty good. We sat outside on a beautiful days and the patio was full but the inside of the restaurant was empty... I hope they do well. They had a fairly diverse, millennial crowd so it was funny that much of the music playing was from 70s and 80s. read more

Honestly shocked I have not written a review of this place yet considering I've been here multiple times and have always left more than satisfied. My boyfriend and I stopped in for brunch today and are currently nursing food babies as I write this. We just finished a fitness challenge that had deprived us of some of our favorite foods for the past couple of months, so we knew this was the spot to go all out when it comes to brunch. We started with the pumpkin donut bites and the French onion soup. With each bite of the donut, paired perfectly with the gooey pumpkin spice icing, you are sent to a cool, crisp day at the county fair, wearing your favorite flannel. They're perfection. The soup was also exactly what I was craving on this cold, rainy day. For our entrees, we went with the pulled pork Benedict and the caramel apple French toast. The Benedict was truly some of the best I've ever had. Between the crispy home fries, the pork that melts in your mouth, the crispy bacon crumbles, and that soft poached egg, smothered in hollandaise sauce... literally can't go wrong. The French toast was just as mind blowing. Each bite was truly an epic autumnal party in your mouth. The apples, the caramel, the thick fresh whipped cream.. all star players. If you haven't had the pleasure of dining here, just do it. This was our first dine-in experience since Covid and the service was exceptional. Everything about this place is what you look for in a local brunch spot but just can't seem to find. It is definitely Triple D worthy if Guy ever comes out this way! We waited less than the time they said we would which was under 20 minutes. The place was busy but got people in and out quickly without feeling rushed. After being seated, we waited no more than 15 minutes for our food to come out. I got the breakfast bowl which was a large portion and full of flavor. You can make changes and add or substitute anything. My bf got the combo with croissant french toast and a cinnamon swirl iced coffee. So much flavor and every bite was savory. What a great find, this turned out to be! From the outside, it would appear to be a small casual cafe serving light fare like coffee, baked breads and other goodies, but don't be mistaken, Cafe 72 is a full service restaurant with a solid breakfast and lunch menu. It was a full house when we arrived at around 11 am on a Saturday and had to wait for about 20 minutes that felt like only a few minutes, thanks to the free coffee and bocce ball court that's setup outside the restaurant! Since this was our first time here, we stuck to some basic stuff, egg white veggie omelette was perfect, came with some home fries, lightly seasoned and crisp outside, just the way I like it. The Florentine Benedict was delicious too and wasn't too heavy on the tummy, which is good. The staff was attentive and service was nicely paced. Two things that stood out in our meal. 1. The Spiced Ice chai with fresh muddled orange, the flavors were oozing out and you could taste every ingredient, the cinnamon gave a nice kick and the orange balanced out with some sweetness and made it refreshing! 2. Lemon Ricotta donuts with blueberry compote, one of the best I've had in recent times. Nice fluffy warm donut balls with just a hint of lemon that went along so well with the compote, I'd come back just for this :) Oh, and finally, the decor is beautiful, perfect lighting, the overhead lamps and the festive string lights brought in nice happy vibes to the place. read more

They do a good job of trying to provide the best customer service as you wait. Outside of the resutrant has seating as well as an area that you can play games. Also, there was a coffee, tea and water station set up outside. Food Overall, everything that we had was great. The risotto donuts were to die for. I was not really a fan of the sauce it was served with, so I ate it by itself and it was great. The short ribs tostones and were amazing. My only recommendation would be that they drain the tostones a little more because they were oily. read more

We came during the holiday season and the restaurant was decorated festively making the atmosphere fun warm and welcoming! We wanted to get a little taste of everything so we decided to get something sweet, something savory and some small just to snack on! The snack turned out to be a nicely spiced and seasoned guacamole toast. They were not frugal with the guac which is always a blessing! The toast was well toasted and not burnt or hard. The sweet choice had to be the cannoli French toast! The cannoli cream was sweet and creamy and added a delicate touch to the French toast while the Nutella and actual toast were soft and sweet! The French toast was easy to cut into and filled me up to the rim! Finally we split some Cajun shrimp Benedict which was a welcome twist to the brunch classic that is Benedict! The dining room has handfuls of seating options, an assorted collection of booths and tables, and it seems they could accommodate any size group. The staff is friendly, greeting upon arrival and promptly servicing tables for food/drink orders or just to check in. The menu has a good variety of the staple breakfast items along with a few seasonal specials (I had the hot apple cider, which was accented with an over-the-top smattering of delicious whipped cream). Naturally I had the Eggs Benedict, which was tasty, but left me slightly disappointed: they don't have hash browns, only country potatoes. Oh well. In paying the check, which was priced reasonably, I was happily satisfied with my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a solid little breakfast spot then go no further than Cafe Seventy Two.
