We originally made a reservation for 2:00pm online since it was available. I had gotten a text from someone who I believe may have worked/ been in charge of the restaurant to change the reservation time since the restaurant closed at 2:30pm. So i changed our time to 1:00 pm. Took us quite a bit of time to be seated, but we got treated to a complimentary funnel cake fry dish for the long wait. The fries were crunchy but sweet & we absolutely loved them. My best friend got a hot chocolate & I got the Dirty Chai Latte with regular foam instead of coconut since I am not a big fan of coconut. The whipped cream was perfectly sweet and the blueberry compote was to die for. Unfortunately, the corned beef Benedict and the shrimp and grits did not leave us feeling the same. The grits bowl was overly packed with grits. It was almost like a soup and the grits did not have enough flavor. The corned beef had an odd sour taste and the hollandaise sauce was lacking seasoning. Regular guests - but not any more! Service with an attitude is a sure shot way to lose customers - even the regulars. Saturday afternoon 1 pm and with just one other table occupied did not justify an insistence of placing the entire order at the same time. Apps, followed by our drinks and our food comes out in rapid succession and creates a crampy table with no place for all food and drinks to coexist which leads to a poor dining experience that regrettably knocks this off as a brunch spot to visit. Food was incredible. My family and I all got omelets and everyone was extremely pleased with them. Recommend the Tex Mex, Cobb, and mushroom omelets. The drinks were also really good and I didn't get a pic of the dirty chai when we first got it but the presentation was also really good. Like some other reviews mentioned, the prices were a bit inconsistent as some items were relatively expensive and others were fairly priced. There was also an abnormal amount of flies and fruit flies that we kept swatting away but it didn't take away from our experience because it wasn't too bad. That being said, as we finished ordering, we are asked to pick between between donuts or funnel cake fries for the table. We were all confused because we didn't say we wanted anything else but she kept insisting on an answer, asking us again what we wanted for the table. A family member said "I guess I'd prefer donuts" and everyone agreed. After she left we were sort of confused because that's never happened before and we were wondering if they were maybe complimentary since she asked that out of the blue and was persistent with getting an answer. Later we got the bill and we were charged for them but we had already figured that would be the case, and we didn't care because they were good but it was an extra $10 for 7 donut balls with frosting. The total bill before tip was $104 for 4 people. The ambiance was really cute and nice. You can tell they spent time on the interior design and everyone there was really nice and friendly. I went here for brunch with some friends and definitely will be back. The parking lot was small and on the side shared with another business but there were spots available. The interior is decorated so pretty. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Some got brunch , I got a Rachel sandwich (pic is leftovers as everyone was too busy eating to get a pic in the restaurant), and French onion soup, so delicious! I took home donuts to go, my household loved them, the compote is very good. The staff were nice, food came out fast! They were packed by the time we left. I haven't been to Cafe 72 in almost two and a half years. When we first discovered it in 2015, we liked it alot. But back in 2018 we had a series of really poor experiences, got pretty fed up with the place and pretty much erased them from our rotation of breakfast and lunch places. So here we are in May 2021. So much time has passed, and with Covid-19 closing down everything for so long, we decided to take a fresh look at the Cafe 72 and see what was going on. They now have both outside and inside seating. The outside seating looks nice buntbe traffic outside is fairly heavy and noisy so we chose inside. It was pretty empty. Our waitress was quick and she took our order and served us quickly. I got one of the omlettes off of their specials menu which came with truffles, mushrooms and spinach. Also got a side of deep fried home fries which were fantastic. Loved it! My wife got a Reuben and fries said it was good too. Coffee was solid as well. OK were back in business with Cafe 72! Five stars. Great experience and actually a great personal lesson for me to not write off business forever and to have an open mind about second chances. read more

I've had Cafe Seventy Two among my bookmarks as a breakfast and brunch spot for quite some time. I finally made it there this past weekend. I had the Morning pancakes, which consisted of whole wheat, carrots, raisins and walnuts. The Pancakes were were hearty and filling. I enjoyed them, but the walnuts and raisins in the pancake were very sparse. My husband ordered the Chorizo Benedict. Overall, it was a tasty option, but it simply had too much going on with all the various ingredients. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop by Cafe Seventy Two, as the menu offers many great choices. read more

This is such a cute brunch spot! There is pretty good parking and I love the lit-up trees inside. It also seems like they have a very large outdoor seating area when it is open. My only complaint is that it was very crowded and people had to shimmy around tables to get to their seats and people kept bumping into our seats. I'm glad we made reservations because it was PACKED. Despite how crowded it was, however, it wasn't super loud, which I appreciated. I came here with my family when we were in the area for a wedding. We got the donuts to start since other Yelpers so highly rated them. They were amazing! The coffee was very good. My stepdad and I both got the cajun shrimp benedict. The biscuit was very good. Had breakfast at Cafe 72 this morning. The service was incredibly slow! After immediately being seated and given menus, we waited at least 15 minutes foour server to come to the table. There were plenty of servers but obviously they were mismanaged because it definitely should not have taken that long to get at least a cup of coffee. Once our waitress came, we gave her our complete order. My husband and I ordered a basic breakfast, eggs, home fries, bacon and toast, My mother in law ordered the ultimate breakfast which included pancakes, eggs and bacon. Tables set up inside are cramped, everyone bumps into the people sitting at the next table, our own table had another table pinned in so 2 of our party had to get up to allow the other table patrons to leave. Service was very good and friendly. The menu was pricey - we all understand how food costs have gone up, but for french toast, they charge a $4 add-on for syrup - really??? I ordered the "smash burger" - $20. It had 3 slim patties (my first thought was McDonalds) - the taste was OK, certainly not something to report to my friends that "this tastes great", just OK, and definitely not something I was happy to pay $20 for. My dining partners didn't have anything bad to say about their selections, but I also didn't hear any high compliments. 4 of us, no drinks, just meals, $80. A little pricey for lunch. Check comes, we plop down 2 credit cards with the intention of splitting the check 50/50. We do this to spare the bother of the server to have to do separate checks. Someone who I assume is the manager came over and said "we don't split checks", and that was that. I can't believe it's a cost issue, you're still paying the credit card fees for an $80 check, what's the difference from having 2 $40 checks? Awesome spot to get your brunch fix. We (party of 2) pulled up around 1:30 pm on a Sunday and the place was still buzzing. Pro-tip: the best seats at most brunch places are at the counter where all of the action is, so don't be shy. The waitress working the counter at the time (props to Jodie) was very friendly, prompt, and helpful. We ordered the blueberries'n cream French toast, which was phenomenal, and the ultimate combo (waffle, eggs, sausage), which was also very good. For good measure, Jodie brought over an extra dish of the whipped cream for us (they apparently make this delicious whipped cream in-house, which could only be described as the beautiful marriage between vanilla ice cream and a light butter). This has become my favorite brunch place when I'm home visiting family. It's truly a hidden gem because my brother found it a couple years ago and we cannot stop going! It's a small little cafe on the corner in Ewing. It gets pretty crowded during peak hours, but they are very fast so the wait typically is never long. The food options on amazing. They range from options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters. I've tried so many things on the menu ranging from pancakes, to sandwiches, but my personal favorite is the falafel wraps! I've never had a bad meal here and the person I'm always with loves their dish. They also have rotating specials that are always a win. You can not leave here without getting an order of the donuts! They are so fluffy and amazing. Overall, for the food quality and various options to pick from you can never go wrong. Everything is also reasonably priced! I was quite excited to try this place after seeing many posts on Instagram about this place. My experience was just okay. It started out rocky because of the lack of parking spots. There is a public lot next door with limited spots which was completely full so I had to park down the street in a neighborhood (which was also quite full). I didn't expect this since this is in a town, not a bustling area. It also took my friend that met up with me 20 minutes of trying to find a spot. A shame they don't have their own lot. Something to keep in mind when visiting. Anyway, for brunch, I had the hot chocolate and the cannoli French toast. The hot chocolate was basically warm milk with barely any hints of chocolate, so essentially, a waste of money. I was really disappointed. The cannoli French toast on the other hand was thick, chocolaty and very sweet! Perfect if you're in the mood for a sweet breakfast. I wanted regular syrup besides the Nutella syrup that it came with but it was hard to flag down our waitress, so I had to go without. The truffle fries were quite delicious, I just prefer them to be a little thinner. It was much needed though to balance out the sweet. Went here today when I was out for a ride. The place is relatively small, but cozy. There weren't too many people in there, but when I walked in and told them one, they offered to seat me at the counter, but I requested a booth. The host/waitress had to check to see if they could give me one of the three available booths. The waitress was very nice and promptly brought my drinks and tool my order quickly. The food was just okay. I had asked for the eggs scrambled and well done, home fried potatoes well done, bacon and white toast. The were cooked in a very thin layer and weren't well at all. The potatoes were large chunks and weren't very flavorful. The bacon was okay. The toast was just a single piece of thick white bread, cut in half. The coffee was good. I have been to this restaurant several times and each time is an even better food experience. We went for lunch with another couple. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I didn't feel like having "lunch" so I ordered the Florentine Benedict. It had pesto. Delicious hollandaise sauce and perfectly cooked eggs. I would use something more exciting than an English muffin but that's incidental. I was in heaven from my first bite. The taste, texture and overall experience makes me want to go back again. I love this place. The decor for one is always changing based on the season/holiday and the wait staff are all super friendly and give really good recommendations. The best part of course though is the food, which is always to die for. The regular menu is always on point, my favorite go-tos being the Cajun shrimp Benedict, southwest quesadilla, Cuban sandwich and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. However, the real shining stars of this place are on the specials menu. They always have seasonal dishes like pumpkin/apple flavored things for the fall, peppermint for the winter, etc. My favorite thing ever that I've gotten here were peppermint pancakes - I STILL dream about those delicious peppermint bits inside the whipped cream with perfectly minty pancakes. I'm drooling right now! Today I had the Huevos Rancheros Benedict (a special) with pulled pork, pico de Gallo, and some beans - it was absolutely delicious. My wife and I used to love this place. It seems like they've made a lot of changes over the last year. They don't allow you to split checks. They don't allow you to order any food as an appetizer, you have to order your food once and then they bring it out once. I placed a takeout order a few months ago, they gave my food to the wrong person and didn't even apologize. I asked for a cup of water while I was waiting for them to remake my food. I got a cup of water and a dirty look. They also put up signs about how they expect to be tipped. As a customer, I will decide the amount of the tip based on the service provided.
