they have happy hour till 6: your second round is free! can be of anything, doesn't need to be the same drink you ordered which is GREAT. however HH for drinks only is only at the bar or outside but they have heaters out and we were toasty - totally coming back! the passionfruit marg was just okay, nothing crazy, but they have a nice wine selection. they made our drinks fast.

Espresso Martini w/ cream

As I shopped in Soho, my partner found this spot for us to take a break from all the walking boy did he find a good one! as I was walking, I asked for suggestions from a friend that used to live in the area and they also suggested this place right off the bat. He ordered an espresso martini to begin, but mention how it was so strong when I arrived, I also ordered an espresso martini but added cream, and it was absolutely delicious and exactly what I needed to continue the day. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the other offerings. The food looked delicious. Also the barista or bartender was very nice, friendly and knew what to do behind the bar!

Were passing by the bustling outdoor seating area at the front of the restaurant, so we took a seat to observe the passerby's and enjoy the last warm evening of the season. Indoor seating was very dark and cramped. Chill vibe, modern pop hits played in the background. Outdoor seating was also super tight--we literally participated in conversations of couples sitting right next to us. NYC and space constraints--gota make the most out of limited sidewalk area right by the restaurant. This is not a place for good food. Everything is mediocre and overpriced. This is a good spot for drinks--$16 gusano [mezscal, honey, spiced salt] hit the spot and was a perfect blend of flavors that would revive any drained pilgrim. The best thing we ate were $22 half a dozen oysters, which were fresh. $18 escargot was the worst--utterly bland and tasteless. A child can make better escargot with eyes closed--just pour the snails from a can into a dish, cover with oil, add salt. Salting this helped to salvage this sad excuse of a dish. $16 catalan shrimp was okay. Buttery, fatty white wine sauce had decent flavor. Most of the dish consisted of potatas bravas and toasted sourdough [only 5 shrimp in the portion]. $17 fluke & tiger shrimp ceviche was nothing to write about. Your typical, forgettable ceviche, that had more filler than seafood. Service was standard. You can find better spots with tastier food, more space, and cooler ambiance. Not a place I'd return to.

Perfect late night French Swiss spot. showed up around 10pm and the kitchen was still open with no rush to close. The raclette was served with 4 slices of toast. It was melted to a plate when it reached the tables with about 4 mini potato pieces and 3 cornishons. This went well with the dry cider. We also ordered zucchini chips with came with three dips including hummus. The seasonal soup was a large portion. The food is excellent for the hour and price.

sangria, cheese plate, espresso martini

This is the exact spot you want to pop into after shopping in soho/nolita. Around 4/5 pm on a weekday, it was relatively quiet but provided excellent people-watching. We got cocktails (espresso martini, sangria) and a cheese plate, which provided quite a hefty serving and selection. The prices are pretty much what you'd expect from the neighborhood, the decor is quaint, and the staff is friendly. I don't know if I would go out of my way for this spot, but it'll definitely be a go-to when I'm in the area :)

This place SUCKS! This is proof of what a Sh1tty manager can do. The Hostess has a Horrible attitude, arrogant and prepotent... like she's royalty and her word is the law... All tables are reserved except the one she assigns. Then they will not allow any changes, even if it is NOT having bacon on your salad WTF??? They look at you as if they were giving you the $25 dollar sandwich for free and you can't ask anything. Bad management kills restaurants They should be ALL about service... But they are certainly not... The food is actually not bad

Interesting menu but the food was disappointing and the service was rude, even by New York brunch standards.

One of the prices that came to mind was Redbreast 12 for $20 for a pour. I settled on Bitburger which was $10. Service was quick. You're certainly paying for the location as the bar situated amongst many clubs and events spaces.

It ended up being a nice spot for a casual catch-up, though with a few mixed impressions. The space itself is cute and very much feels like a neighborhood bar. One of the things we liked most was that they have games available--we ended up playing Scrabble while waiting for our friend to arrive, which made the time go by quickly and added to the relaxed vibe. Happy hour prices are solid, and the fried pickles we shared were decent. I also had a watermelon cocktail that was refreshing and perfectly fine, if not particularly memorable. Service was a bit inconsistent. The bartender wasn't very warm or welcoming to us initially, though that changed once our friend--who is a regular--arrived. Overall, it's a comfortable spot to meet friends and hang out for a few hours, especially on a weekday like Thursday. That said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I can see why it works well as a local neighborhood hang.

Not too crowded, the wait for a pool table was about 30 minutes, enough for a quick round of shuffleboarding. The games are relatively cheap, and there's so much variety, ping pong and board games. The live jazz is really what sets this place apart from the other pool halls, starting around 7 pm with what seems like maybe the house band and I think they have guests later in the night. It's the perfect atmosphere, fun lighting, lots of grungy writing on the walls, good indie music from the 2010s before the jazz starts. Plus the spacing of the tables is good so you're not constantly bumping into other players, which is a pet peeve of mine. I'm sure it's busier later in the night but it's perfect for an early stop in the evening. Cheap drinks and good deals as well!

The whole concept is…read morebuilt around keeping your hands busy: pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, foosball, chess, checkers, even some old-school arcade cabinets scattered through a sprawling underground space. It's actually a legacy spot in disguise. This basement used to house Fat Cat, a longtime West Village institution that shut down right before the pandemic, and before that the room itself was a bowling alley, tucked into a 1932 Art Deco building a few steps from Stonewall. Drink selection isn't the draw here, don't come expecting a deep cocktail list. Crowd skews heavily undergrad, and the place is loud, so it's not the spot for an intimate one-on-one or a real group conversation. It's built for a different kind of hang: elbow your way to a table, keep your hands busy, let the noise do the rest. There's also live jazz most nights, which adds a nice layer if you catch it at the right time. Neat place, just know what you're walking into.

The cocktails downstairs at Sip are incredible. For drinks, the tomato tree and Grandma's Apple Pie were both amazing. The mochi French fry was so unique and delicious. I arrived at 4 for my reservation for the limited burger and ordered it and a few other items. THE BEST THING I ATE was the Fois Gras. Without hesitation, quite possibly the best item on the menu. I could've eaten five orders of it. The burger was good, it wasn't the best burger in the world, it wasn't so great that I'm dying to go back and have it again... The fois gras on the other hand, stole the show. I'm definitely going back for it. The very next day, I went to Peter Luger, and Peter Luger's Burger is superior. If you don't don't believe me do a bang bang in the same day and if you can't handle that, go the next day to Peter Luger. That burger will blow your mind away. Of course, the service there and their old school way of doing things where they bring out a medium rare steak still cooking on a boiling hot plate till it's medium by the time you eat half of it is what's keeping them from being busy. They should've abandoned that sizzling plate. In any event, I digress the burger. Here at sip & guzzle, it's just like the burger at red Hook Tavern, overhyped & does not live up to the hype as being one of the if not "the best burger in the world. Again, the burger was good. The fois gras stole the show. The place is cool, it's small, reservations are tough & The Burger is limited so walk-ins are a gamble. The fact that the bar doesn't open before four so that when you get there early, you can sit and have a drink really is a fail. I find that to be plain silly. Drinks were good. High price point for drinks that were as good as anywhere else, again not superior, but that location is small and rent is surely massive. So, all good. Id go back for apps and 1 drink.

Duplex gets better the more you open yourself to the social happenings around you. Share a drink, take some shots, sing a song in front of strangers. Keep in mind your tab will get pricey, but that is what you'll have to be willing to pay. Though you need not be inebriated to enjoy Duplex, I've done it multiple times and have had a great experience either way. Since we had such a great time, we stopped in on the next night, and it was a massive disappointment. Shitty attitude from the bartender. Either way, the bar was not crowded yet and he straight up ignored us. For a while. We left. Drinks are made with the cheapest of booze and served in plastic cups. Based on the quality, the prices are high, even for the neighborhood. Despite the drinks and despite the crappy service on the second visit, we will likely come back the next time we're in town in hopes of finding a bartender who understands the job.
