Got take out from here a few times, sometimes by calling in, sometimes through Uber, and I've been happy with my order every time (I usually order the same items again and again). I've only dealt with the girl at the front with the cat earrings and she's a gem. Super friendly and bubbly. Classic Breakfast - Potatoes and salad are good, sausage and eggs are standard, the pork belly is a bit weird but overall, still enjoyable Karaage Moffle - Moffle is a bit dense but I still love this. Has good waffle flavour. Chicken is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, Good amount of syrup, fresh salad, I've never used the spicy mayo sauce so can't comment on that. Saikyo Mushroom - Probably my least favourite dish of all the items I've tried. It was just okay but the other items were much better that I don't see myself ordering this again. Doesn't make me want to try their other pastas either. Smoked Salmon Croissant - Love. Like I said before, potatoes and salad are good, no change here. Like the addition of the yuzu salsa and the wasabi dill cream cheese is neat. Creme Brulee Souffle Pancake - I've only had souffle pancakes once a million years ago back when they first started opening stores in Toronto. It was a horrible experience which completely deterred me from getting another for years. This was the second time I've ever had it and it's significantly better. This was also my third time, forth time and fifth time. Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte - So this is strawberry jam on the bottom and matcha latte on top, which you're supposed to mix together. I tried this restaurant's takeout during COVID and everything was nicely packaged considering the takeout containers are limiting. The karaage moffle was pretty good - the fried chicken was juicy and had good flavour. The mochi waffle was interesting but as someone who loves mochi I found it a bit heavy after awhile. At some point I even wished it was just a regular waffle. I think it would go better with ice cream instead of karaage. The food was surprisingly delicious the portion sizes were great and the service was awesome. Their prices are very reasonable for what they serve. First time trying this place and overall the experience was not great. FOOD: Food selection was unique and different. We got the mushroom pasta and pulled pork sandwich. Taste was overall pretty good but it was neither warm or hot. Keep reading for reason why that is. PRICE: Average and pretty consistent with most brunch spots. SERVICE: Mediocre. Ordered our food online on their website at 1:15pm with a chosen pick up time at 1:45pm. When we went in at 1:30pm to pay for our order we were told it would take a couple more minutes and handed us our drink that was already made. Went back inside at 1:45pm and our order was still not ready. At 1:55 i asked for our order to be followed up and was told it would be another 2 minutes for our second and last item. We finally got our food at 2:10pm. By the time we got our food, it was neither hot or warm. We ordered the mushroom pasta that came with a piece of garlic bread but was pretty soggy by then. The item we were waiting for was the pulled pork sandwich and it was also cold despite eating it as soon as we got it. COVID SAFETY: They only take cash or debit. Made a reservation on mother's day at 12:30 and didn't end up seated until 1245-1. The only downside to this place is really it's size as it's very small for dine-in. You are able to scan a qr code to place your orders which is very efficient. All the food came out really fast and we were sitting in the front and got good service. I tried the pork belly croissant combo and I really enjoyed it. The croissant includes daikon radish, greens and some sauce that compliment the fatty pork belly really well. Their potatoes are also really tasty. I switched the iced coffee to an iced matcha latte - the matcha was subtle which I prefer. I also had some crème brûlée pancake which were so soft. Sundays are for brunching! I satisfied my brunch cravings with a nice cup of coffee and a smoked salmon croissant from Cafe N One. When I first opened the box I was instantly hit with the most delicious warm aroma of their roasted potatoes and greeted with a colorful salad and the beautiful croissant itself. Don't let this small package fool you, this was actually quite filling. The smoked salmon croissant had housemade Wasabi dill cream cheese, smoked salmon, arugula and fresh yuzu salsa. It's a small cafe and decently busy but I love the sparkling drinks, pasta and croquette. I get those every time I visit.

The food is good but the horrendous delay and frazzled service makes this place a skip. After we sat down (which not to mention they gave our inside table away to a group ahead of us who chose to sit outside and didn't jot their names down to wait), it took us 15 minutes to receive water after asking. The restaurant ordering system is very unorganized and it shows with the staff constantly giving us empty apologies. It took us 25 minutes to get 2/3 drinks, another 10 minutes to get the last drink after being prompted. 15 mins later, 2/3 entrees were delivered but it took another 15 minutes to get our final entree which was simply salad, scrambled eggs and sausage with pancakes. Other normal asks for ketchup, straw to drink etc., were acknowledged and either never actioned or delivered near the end of the meal. This may be due to their system, you order via QR code but each person punches in their meal separately with the table number. The kitchen should be grouping the orders when they come in but it seems to me that they address each person separately which can easily lead to missed orders/lack of coordination. Rather than get upset at the staff (who were nice/sweet), it is fair to say this restaurant is fairly unorganized and we won't be coming back. The excuse that "we are very busy and there is a lot going on," is simply not good enough. It's a regular Sunday morning at 10:30AM--every brunch place is busy. read more

Lately brunch places with an Asian twist have been sprouting in the Richmond Hill and Markham areas. From Elephant Grind, Scenic, Alchemy, Duo to Cafe Bon Bon. Gone are the days of just eggs and bacon. Cafe N One stands out as they have more variety when it comes to food. They have mochi waffles, croissants, sando, pasta and soufflé pancakes. We ordered the chicken katsu sando and smoked salmon croissant. Both came with a side salad, the croissant came with coffee and potatoes as we opted for a combo for an additional $6. The salad was ok, the smoked salmon croissant was really good with the wasabi dill cream cheese. Potatoes were crispy and would have been better with more seasoning. The chicken katsu sando was good too. This is a place where you can visit multiple times so you can try the other menu items. I would want to try the soufflé as it takes 20 mins to prepare. The only not so good thing about Cafe N One is the limited space inside. One person in my right was coughing and the one on my left kept sneezing. I was so grateful at the restaurant's effort at social distancing- there were plastic standees that serve as dividers in between each table. Pandemic Dine in and Take out. I definitely prefer to dine in here, their take out doesn't fare as well when enjoyed at home. Their space is pretty tight, so it will be challenging to navigate with a large group. They only have one bench seat that is suitable for a infant car seat. So their space isn't exactly baby friendly. My favorite order is definitely their mochi waffles and karaage chicken, I find theirs is one of my favorite renditions in the area. Their waffle is the perfect texture along with beautifully fried chicken; normally I split the chicken with my older child since she loves it. Their speciality coffee drinks also are very enticing, so I would come back to check out maybe when I don't have two littles in tow. Ordering is easy, they've instituted an online order system and posted numbers at each table; you just scan their QR code and enter your table number and order. Things get a little more tricky when cashing out though, ideally both ordering and cashing out should be in tandem - however their cashing out can be slow at times, so I would recommend being patient while the bill gets sorted. The other downside is the parking, which is limited. You can park in the back; which I recommend doing. The front lot is very tight and with other popular destinations in this tiny strip mall - it is a downside. read more

The food was a nice twist on some new trendy foods, and everything came out extra extra hot and fresh. The moffle was very soft, especially the inside. The only critique is that the outside of the moffle is lacking a crisp or crunch, but the freshness of the mochi offset that. The karrage flavour was good, but the pieces were a tad small and the flavour was the usual, but it did come out super hot. The surprise hit was the mushroom toast, which was delicious and well put together along with the salmon croissant having a perfect balance of toppings inside. Souffle pancakes were as good as anywhere else, with different flavours being offered. Overall really enjoyed this location, the seating isn't the most comfortable and the service seemed to struggle a bit with the amount of customers that were there that day. Tried the chicken and waffle. The chicken is boneless and very moist with a nice crunch. The waffle was really heavy and a little different from your standard waffle. The insead of being light and fluffybon the inside it was heavy and dense. The outside still had a slight crunch. Overall a very nice dish. Also tried the pasta. No complaints here. I love exploring different cafes around the area and stumbled upon this one. The wait was long even though I went by myself and its not the type of cafe where you could study. It is sort of cramped because a lot of people go here. As soon as I saw the menu and tried the food I easily understood why it was so packed. So I had noticed Cafe n One on my IG feeds and wasn't sure since Japanese food is so trendy, but the flavours were legit good! I have the impression a lot of effort was put into everything. Carbonara came with an poached egg to put on top to create the sauce (thus Carbonara and was proper with black pepper, cheese and bacon). Katsu had proper Katsu sauce. And the mochi in the waffle made it chewy and interesting. There's a 10% discount now. Pick up ready in about 20min. Always wanted to come try out this restaurant because one of our friends had good review on them. Tried the karaage moffle, pork belly croissant ant, and chocolate soufflé pancakes. I have a mixed feeling on their food. The flavours are good, but I think the place is over hyped. The karaage is juicy and the dipping sauce has a subtle spice to it. The moffle is too dense and soft. I would prefer a regular waffle, airy inside with a crunch exterior. The syrup is tasteless, I rather have maple syrup. This is a case when places tried too hard to cook fusion food and executed poorly. We ordered pull pork croissant , and they gave us a pork belly instead. The pork belly tasted good and the pickled vege was a nice balance to it. But the croissant is not flaky, similar to the one from supermarket. Chocolate soufflé pancakes was not that great. Lacking in flavour. Chocolate sauce is good that it's not too sweet, but lack of chocolate taste. Better to eat these in specialty soufflé places. Not sure why the karaage moffle doesn't come with coffee but the croissant came with it. The coffee was good. Presentation of food is good with nice plates.
