In the area, saw this place popped up, thought I stopped by and give it a tried. It was around 2:00pm, while I was walking in, a couple was walking out, the place was empty. I was gonna order the lunch special, unfortunately it was Sunday, and I guess the lunch menu only available between M-F? So I ordered an egg roll and the Empress Chicken, not sure exactly what it is. I saw the name is like Empress, should be pretty impressing, right? lol Egg roll was pretty good, I mean the Empress chicken is pretty good too, huge portion, but I look at it, is like Sweet and Sour Chicken, red sweet sauce The place look a little better than normal Chinese/American restaurant,there is a bar area, but only have like 2 stools. While I was there, only 1 guy is working, I'm the only table there during that time, my water didn't refill until ending of my meal. The guy is busy, seem like lots of to go orders, seen lot of delivery guys in and out of there during my lunch. Will I go back? Convenient restaurant to get good, quick. I haven't liked everything I've ordered from here, but I go pretty often for lunch and usually order the same things. The egg foo young is good and they are full of various vegetables and plenty of meat. The eggrolls are really good but do not come with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. The crab Rangoon is also good, though it did not contain any actual crab in it. The chicken and broccoli and beef with broccoli are both good. read more

Stopped in last week for dinner. First let me say the dining area very dated and not very busy. However the volume of take out was incredible, It was person after person picking up food. The food was outstanding, and let me just tell you now the portions are huge. I ended up ordering two appetizers, which I didn't need with the portions you are served. The egg rolls and pot stickers were so good thou. The general Tso's was perfect, with just the right amount of sauce. the food took a minute to come out and it was really hot, you could tell it's made to order. Company brought in lunch from this place, we had a big meeting, all 45 employees, it was a Chinese feast, lots of variety and tastey. Was enjoyed by all.. Fast forward an hour into the meeting as everyone experienced what can only be called torture, where everyone at nearly one time made rushes to every toilet in the building, and when no toilets were available, rushed outside to vomit in various bushes, some left and made it home, others didn't.. When I opened it I expected a ton of veggie underneath as it was massive BUT there was three huge pieces of egg fu young. Pork fried rice I could have easily ate the whole box by myself it was so good. Sesame chicken, though heavy on the sauce was delish!! It came with white rice and broccoli. First time ordering. Once was enough. Visually, everything looked stunning so I was looking forward to the meal. Ordered orange chicken with vegetable fried rice as the side (up charge), chicken egg roll, and crab rangoon. The orange chicken was hard to eat as it was super chewy. The orange sauce was delicious though. I was charged for vegetable fried rice but did not receive it. I think this is a really good neighborhood takeout spot. I didn't have the timing issues that others have written about. I called around noon and 20 minutes later my food was ready to pick up. I like that they do curbside so you don't even have to get out of your car. I ordered the Beef in garlic sauce and asked them to add broccoli. Sometimes when you ask for vegetables to be added people skimp on them, but Cafe China did not! I was very pleased and it was tasty plus the lunch portion came with soup. Glad to have a simple and straight forward Chinese place nearby! For lunch, I ordered the General Tso's with fried rice for $9.95. I was pleasantly surprised at how large the portion was! The chicken tasted fantastic, I would say better quality than the standard General Tso's at other Chinese restaurants. I also appreciate the time that went into their website! Average at best! But pricey as f$&k!!! This Chinese restaurant is not worth it and the value you get for your money is hard to find. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. Although I think that is precisely why they think they can get away with subpar food! I got General Tso's chicken, Crab Rangoon and 1 egg roll. The chicken itself wasn't bad but the sauce that it was drowned in was another story. It was sickeningly sweet with no hint of spice at all! Not heat, no pepper flakes, no real flavor of any kind...besides sugar. The quantity was ok but I would of much rather had less but better tasting. The Crab Rangoon was average at best and at over $8 for only six pieces was in no way worth it! It lacked any flavor of crab, onion or anything else besides tons of cream cheese. Imagine putting a full package of Philadelphia cream cheese in your mouth and then crunching on a chip... that was it! It was nice and crunchy without being so hard that would break your tooth. At least that is a plus! Lastly, was the most disappointing part of the whole meal. The egg roll which was so generic tasting that I probably could of gotten a better one at a gas station. It had no real discernible flavor. I couldn't taste any garlic or ginger or onion! At over $2 for a single egg roll, I was hoping for a kick in the face with flavor. Instead, I received a wet finger in my ear!!! There is not one thing that would bring me back to this restaurant. From the inflated price to the overcooked chicken...not one real thing I can say good about it. I opted for Cafe China after almost every restaurant was closed for the 4th of July. I got the shrimp phad thai, my husband got the spicy General Tsaos, my 11 year old got the chicken lo mein, and we all shared the friend dumplings, hot and sour soup, and the crab Rangoon. I echo all the other reviews in saying that the portion size is fair for the price. Plenty of food left over for the next day! Food was piping Hot. Hot and sour soup and dumplings were standard recipes you get anywhere else....good. I do want to point.oit that the crab Rangoon was delicious and want to make a point that they stuff if with more filling than I have received elsewhere. Highly recommend! My husband loved the general Tsaos. He said the heat was a dry heat and tasted better than other restaurants. My 11 year old said the lo mein was ok. Tons of chicken and the lo mein was even better leftover. I was disappointed in my phad thai. They do not use phad thai noodles. There is no phad thai sauce. They use whole peanuts instead of crushed peanuts. On the good side, I felt like I got a fair amount of shrimp. If you're looking for phad thai, look at the pictures first. I would not call this phad thai. This place was ok. I feel like it's better than standard shines fast food. read more

Cafe China is kind of average. It's much better than a strip mall carryout. This is of course in a strip mall, but it's a nice one. It also has a pretty nice interior. There's bar seating and tables. It isn't what many people would expect. It's in a strip mall, but you may feel like actually staying. This is much different than a takeout. Inside it kind of looks like fine dining. There's a sushi bar where you can get liquor. It doesn't just have Chinese. They also have many Japanese items like sushi. I had the Hunan Bean Curd. It's about $9 for the regular portion. They give you a pretty good amount for this. It has some things to be proud of. Its dining room is nice and they give big portions. I've been going here for twenty years. Before Covid you could sit down and have a nice mean at a decent price. They even had a secret authentic menu you could order from. Love coming here. Have now tried other dishes and everything is fresh, full of flavor and very filling. They now offer sushi which you can sit in the chairs and watch them work their magic.
