Solid choice for Americanized Chinese food! I wanted something cheap for lunch and decided to order for pick up online. I got crab Rangoon and hot spicy beef with fried rice. Nice kick of heat from the beef! I also got egg drop soup, which was only 50 cents to add on! The portion size is pretty generous. It'll last me two meals! Everything was good! The only issue was that there wasn't a ton of meat mixed with the vegetables. Staff was nice. They greeted me upon entry and were friendly. First time stopping by since we were in the area and ordered carryout. They were quite busy with phone calls and steady stream of customers picking up carry out. We order the Joy Combo Fried Rice which was quite good. The Chicken on a Stick was moist and pretty good, but not much flavor. The Kung Pao Triple was a weird flavor sauce and was too spicy and I like spicy. Spring Rolls were small (see picture - size comparison next to condiment packets), and Won Ton Soup was bland and had weird taste. If we come back, we will stick with fried rice only. read more

Delicious family owned Chinese restaurant in Dublin! Had an excellent lunch with family here. Shout out to the owners for their attentiveness and patience with my little niece and nephew. They adored the wonton soup and Snapple juice. The adults enjoyed the lunch specials which costed less than $7. They came with generously portioned entrees, fried or white rice, and soup (or egg roll). My lo mein was pleasant. We also enjoyed the chicken and beef with broccoli dishes. This is my first ever Yelp review. I've never felt the need. But, I am so happy to have found this restaurant, I feel that I have to say something. I have lived in Northwest Columbus for about 25 years and had been ordering Chinese take-out from a place near me but that place changed hands and the quality of the food was no longer acceptable. I grew up in a suburb of NYC and wanted my Chinese food to taste like what I remembered. After trying several of the other restaurants close to me, I wasn't totally happy with any. Then I ran across a listing for Joy House and It was like when everything turned to Technicolor in Wizard of Oz. Now, I've only visited twice but I am driving 15 minutes to get here. My first choices were Wor Sue Gai and Vegetable Mei Fun along with an egg roll and egg drop soup. All were packaged nicely, traveled well, were nicely hot, and were delicious. The egg roll was nice and crispy. Sauce for the Wor Sue Gai was packaged separately and there was plenty and it was flavorful. Today, I picked up two lunch specials: Wor Sue Gai with an egg roll and pork fried rice with egg drop soup. Again everything traveled well and was delicious. I arrived a bit early and while I waited I had a great and friendly conversation with the woman behind the counter. I told her I was so happy with the food and would be coming back again. We talked about how, if you call and let them know you like your food, say, really spicy or not so spicy, they can accommodate you. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some of the other menu items. The amount of food you get is HUGE and even the lunch portions are more than I can eat at one meal. read more

The low mein was ok-not much flavor, and the pepper steak had great flavor but some of the meat was hard to chew or to chewy. That being said-I'd definitely order from here again. I have not yet dined in - but soon will. I have ordered delivery on 3 occasions - 2 lunches and 1 dinner and had the same great experience each time. The delivery arrived well within the quoted time and since they use "Doordash" for an online order, you receive alerts on the progress as text message, which is very convenient. The food was very pleasing. Egg rolls are crispy with nice flavor, fried (pork) won tons are quite good as well for appetizers. For entrees, so far I have ordered sweet & sour chicken, cashew chicken, almond chicken and mongolian beef. My favorite is the cashew chicken: diced vegetables, cubed chicken, cashews in a very flavorful brown ginger sauce. The sweet & sour chicken is the typical tempura batter-fried white chicken pieces, served with your choice of rice and sweet & sour sauce. The almond chicken was a very light sauce, stir-fried chicken breast with vegetables and sliced almonds with your choice of rice. The mongolian beef was very tender slices of beef with caramelized onions and green onions. It was very good but the ratio of beef to vegetable was very light on the beef and heavy on the onion. The Covid safety measures in place are strict and the restaurant was very clean. So, I felt bad because around the time I made the first review, the owner had contacted another yelper and profusely apologized for their bad experience and claimed that they were new but they were trying their best. So, I decided to give them another chance -- 2+ years later. So, I ordered delivery at about 11:45am and ordered the lunch special which was Shrimp & Broccoli (but instead of brown sauce, I ordered garlic sauce yum!!) This special comes with fried rice and an egg roll for $6.95. The man on the phone was OK. Not too pleasant but not rude either. He told me it would take 40 minutes. This was fine. So, I waited and it came piping hot! It was awesome until I opened it up to find onions, peppers, etc. Usually, shrimp and broccoli is literally just that. I had paid $2 for delivery and left a $2 tip and they are literally RIGHT around the corner from my house so I called to get my order replaced. When I called to get it replaced, the cook and the order-taker argued in the background because they gave me Shrimp w Garlic Sauce instead of the Shrimp & Broccoli with garlic sauce. So, after they argued a few, they said they'd replace it. 20 mins later, I get the right food but BOY WAS IT WRONG. I always asked for extra spicy since the last time I ordered it it was bland. It wasn't spicy again and there was only five shrimp!! The shrimp was soggy and the fried rice is essentially white rice with soy sauce maybe? Very salty and not very fried. The egg roll was basic. Broccoli was crunchy so I guess that's a plus. I tried to like them since they are so close but, I just.. can't. I waited an hour for meh food. read more

Good chicken lettuce wraps, Chinese donuts and wonton soup. But the Pad Thai is incredibly spicy even though it has no indication of this on the menu. Granted I don't like spicy very much- though I eat thing with a little heat- but one bite and my mouth and lips are still tingling 10 minutes later where it touched, and it has no flavor profile built up to make it seem like Pad Thai that is spicy, it's just spicy. The shrimp tasted off, and the ratio of noodles to protein was ridiculous. The sauce was not what I've ever had on pad Thai and was horribly salty. We have a few things we always order and it's how determine how much we like a place. The wontons in the wonton soup were packed with rich, gingery porky goodness. The egg rolls were crispy and delicious. I think where Joy House stands out is their General Tso's chicken. They use chicken. Like, you can tell it's actual chunks of chicken, rather than processed chicken bits. No weird gibbly bits - just tender, perfectly battered chicken in a sweet thick sauce. I do wish that the dish was spicier (it is not at all), so next time I'll order it extra spicy! We also tried the sesame beef, which was so rich, but very tasty. It is literally is 95% meat with a crunchy outside lathered with the perfect sauce and sprinkled with sesame. It's definitely not the fried ball of dough you find at other hi see restaurants. Lo mien is simple and straightforward, veggie, meat and noodles! Chicken and eggplant, no mushy eggplants here, overlay with a brown sauce. Cashew chicken, lots of veggies for the veggie lovers.
