Well after dropping off some family at the airport early this morning, my buddy suggested an early breakfast. He found this place and we decided to try it out. The restaurant it clean and well kept. My cinnamon french toast breakfast was pretty good French toast had good flavor to it. The eggs were well scrambled and the sausage was nice and savory a pretty good breakfast for this early in the morning makes me really want to go home and take a quick nap before getting up again. Very early morning for me as I took some friends of mine to the airport! This was the closest open place for breakfast for me and one of my other friends who came with me! We did have to wait a small bit of time to get a waitress. Which is understandable since we came in at 5 am. But I feel like they should have a bell or something so that we can at least let someone know that we were here. The only reason we got a waitress as quickly as we did was we asked a janitor whom was cleaning the floor to inform them as they were all back in the kitchen. The waitress was very kind when she came over and took us to our table. Got our drinks for us quite quickly and took our orders with ease too. The interior was quite pretty with clean wooden floor, wooden tables with nice soft chairs and booths! White bricked walls and a pretty stained glass roof over where we sat! We only had to wait like 15-20 minutes for the food, which was pretty good! I ordered the Ham Steak and Eggs and The ham was absolutely delicious! It was juicy, meaty and tender! The eggs are okay. Nothing really wrong with them, but in terms of taste, it wasn't my favorite. But they were cooked well and there was plenty of them. The potatoes were really good! This was our second visit here and this time we came for dinner. It was the Friday before 4th of July so it was a bit busy, but we were still seated right away. It was a bit noisy with the restaurant and foot traffic going through Silver Legacy, but that was okay with us. Naomi, our server, was very attentive, friendly, and courteous. The ribeye was cooked perfect and seasoned well. Actually better than I expected. My wife went with the fish and chips, and first glance I was impressed with the portion of the fried Haddock. Reminded of how they do fish and chips in the UK which I prefer. The Haddock was fresh while the batter was very crispy. The chips were great as well. We actually went back the next night and I had to get it. This is slowly developing into a go-to spot whenever we come to Reno. Quite a good meal at Cafe Central for a quick dinner before catching a red eye flight home. After spending a day at Circus Circus / Silver Legacy casinos, we chose to have dinner at the casino rather than finding a local spot. We sat down at Cafe Central and it was really a pleasant surprise. First off, the menu is vast - it's got American dishes, Italian, and Asian selections. I chose the egg rolls and legacy fried rice and was pleased by both. The egg rolls come 4 to an order, and they were as good as any egg rolls I've had in a Chinese restaurant. The legacy fried rice was both delicious and creatively prepared - it was egg-fried rice with good size chunks of veggies, meat and baby shrimp added. While Esmeralda was a wonderful server, the true surprise came from Matthew who brought us both an iced tea and a separate glass of ice - very above and beyond proactive service! Esmeralda also brought a to-go cup so that I could bring my remaining soft drink on the road. Pricing was reasonable averaging about $45 a person including appetizer, entree, drinks, tip/tax. For all that was delivered, this is quite a reasonable value. If I were traveling through Reno again, I would certainly return to Cafe Central. read more

We spent the day in the casino and hotel and decided to get some dinner here tonight. It is on the second floor of the Silver Legacy casino. The restaurant offers a lot of Asian themed dishes, as well as a few Italian dishes and some standard American style dishes. We started with the egg rolls and they tasted great. For my entree I had the Teriyaki bowl. It had broccoli, red peppers, onions, rice and chicken thighs with a little container of sauce. It was plentiful and tasty. My husband had the fried rice bowl and thoroughly enjoyed it. OK, to go back to my room it is... when I got to the room and saw the receipt, they still charged me $2.99 for it to go order. Who charges for food to go? They came with Yellow & blue corn tortilla chips, house-made chorizo, refried beans, 2 eggs any style, pico de gallo, queso fresco, and ranchero sauce. I was surprised at the heaviness of the bag. I get it up to my room, and the portion was very large. Overall, it was good. The chips were not soggy, I liked the flavor of the chorizo, and it was tender. The beans were not gummy at all, the pico and the ranchero sauce gave it a bit of a "kick", but well within what I like for spicy. The queso fresco was a bit tangy, and helped offset the richness of the rest of the meal. They blew it on the eggs. I love it when the yolk drips down into my food. I was worried that they would "hammer" the over easy eggs, so I asked for sunny side up. Guess what? No yolk whatsoever. They popped the yolks. How in the. H-E- double hockey sticks do you screw up a sunny side up egg? Overall, though the rest of the food was amazingly good. This is another restaurant that I play at safe and they're open 24 hours so you always find something the first time I went there I didn't like a lot of different food so I had to play around with it and I learned that if I go during breakfast is steak and eggs is like the best thing to get and then I learned that this last trip to the burgers were insane. When I say they came out fresh they were good. The fries were hot. I loved everything about the burger to the point that we went two days in a row. I love the service that we received and it's always cleaning inside. We usually sit at the bar and grab the drinks so that's the photos of the bar and we usually talk to the bartenders and have a really great time with them. I never had an issue getting food. If you are out of options, you have a chance to gamble your stomach's future here. Was here for a weekend to compete at USBC Nationals across the street. The hotel is great. The food here... not so much. First, we came with 10 people total and tried to split up the tables to avoid gratuity fees and long orders and stress on the waiter. However, we ended up having to go at different times and sit far away from each other so we can pretend to be strangers. As far as the food, my friends order was burnt eggs and not edible. My order was less cooked eggs and not scrambled as I asked. They call it Casino Breakfast because your odds of winning are slim to none. Others at my table ordered burgers and they looked ok at best. On top of that, they thought we all ordered soda when that wasn't close to accurate. The waitress did her best and took off the badly cooked meal and all the sodas. Both came with a side of white rice that cannot be substituted which was fine for us. The food came piping fresh and hot and the Kung Pao Chicken had excellent flavor and a perfect amount of spice and the General's Chicken was zesty and savory. Both were good portion sizes leaving us both with leftovers to take home. The atmosphere is along the indoor public walkway of the casino and a little loud, not really for an intimate date or setting, but the service was excellent and attentive. This place is one of those places that are open 24/7 and if all other places are open this is the place to come to if wanting a decent meal with and okay price tag attached to it. Service and atmosphere here is great. The only thing that I'd have a gripe about would be the ordering to table wait time other than that everything was pretty good. Large portion size has me taking home some for dinner. However, I can't recommend the Penne Pasta with marinara and meatballs. The sauce is very thin like tomato soup so it didn't have enough depth to hold onto the penne. Prices are about 20-25% high which is consistent with most resort casino places. There was no line at the entrance, many empty tables and I got seated right away as the waiter took my order. However that was about the end of the service I received. I ordered a pho with beef and meatballs. Till this point, it's been 40 minutes since I ordered and no one checked in with me nor have I received my food. I finally was able to flag someone down and he said "It should be arriving shortly." When the pho finally came, the flavor was good but the soup wasn't hot enough to cook the meat. Even soaked in, it stayed pink. I ended up eating the meat balls and leaving the rest of the meat. Located in the Silver Legacy Casino it's easily located and away from a lot of the casino action, so nice and quiet. It's open 24 hours and exactly as its name implies, it's a cafe, nothing more. Four of us came and were seated immediately. The menu was surprising extensive with lots of diverse offerings, including many Asian food options. The drink menu is diverse as well and I ordered a golden ale beer which was refreshing. For my entree I had the Mongolian Beef, a substantial bowl of food, nicely prepared and quite tasty. I really enjoyed it and it had just the right amount of hot peppers for my pallet. Everyone else equally enjoyed their choices, and we can be a picky lot! Service was good yet seemed rushed. It was dinner time and there weren't that many patrons, especially with this being one of the few open places to eat. Overall, not a bad experience.
