This place is such a neighborhood staple you can tell just based off the vibes when you come in. Staff was so friendly! Service was quick and the prices were so reasonable. Passed the vibe check on all fronts. Greeted right away with warm, welcoming smiles and how do you do's. Smallish on the inside, so during the cold, rainy times, might be a challenge to have a good long sit down. There's more room outside for the better months. It was full of people but hushed. Decor is a shabby chic, eclectic mix that I love in a coffee shop that fits the artistic area. Coffee is more roasted flavor which is what I like, rather than floral or tart. Kindly helped with understanding the different sandwich options. The turkey bagel was creative, tasty, and filling. Price wasn't worse than other places in and around Seattle, and worth it for my expectations. Parking, well, it's CapHill, and I had to do a lap or 2 to snag a spot a few mins walk away and it's not an actual part of the rating because the shop can't help it. A couple weeks ago I asked to speak to the manager and I could tell he was really irritated and wanted nothing to do with me when all I wanted to do was compliment the establishment. He rolled his eyes when the worker said I wanted to speak to him and he came up to me and said said only a few words and didn't even look at me when I was speaking. I came to Cafe Argento for a coffee meeting and enjoyed my time here. Located on Capitol Hill on the corner of 12th and Olive, it's easy to find and though the space isn't large, it has a welcoming space, inviting you to stay awhile. I ordered a drip and a samosa, which were both good. Cafe Argento uses coffee from the Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie, which was solid and strong, just what anyone needs with a drip. The samosa was something I ordered for breakfast. It's in the pastry case at the counter and they heat it up for you before delivering it to your table. The samosa had a side of light cheese, which tasted like feta, with a spicy sauce and truffle olive oil for dipping. I enjoyed the samosa, which was filled with curried potatoes and the sides of sauces and cheese went well with it. It's certainly more unique than your average pastry with coffee; therefore, it is worth a try if you're at Cafe Argento! I loved how many frequent customers there were during my visit, as the owner seemed to know each and every one of them, including the person I was meeting. There's a lot to be said for a neighborhood cafe that you can count on, and Cafe Argento speaks to that. For anyone in the area, needing coffee and a snack, I recommend Cafe Argento for just that and top-notch customer service. read more

Known for delicious samosas, I thought I'd come back since they're typically set out later in the morning. The food comes out quickly, and it's a bargain compared to other breakfast options out there ($5.95). A simple meal, and they don't have a huge variety (a few pastries like doughnuts / muffins, two lunch sandwiches, and a breakfast samosa to complete the menu), but what they do make, they make quite well. With respect to coffee, I found it really tasty (Mocha with 2% milk, very smooth). AMBIENCE: A cute, smaller, tranquil, cozy cafe. More casual, nothing fancy nor fussy. About 4-5 tables (including a door with stained glass window turned into a table, which is genius), ranging from 2-4 seats. SERVICE: This was excellent. My mom and I were tourists, and they were so friendly and helpful with going through the menu. They even remembered our order the next day, and we saw them having full on conversations with a few regulars. We wandered in this morning bleary-eyed and in need of caffeine and the people who helped us were so sweet and friendly. They guided us through the menu and helped us decide what we wanted and everything was SO delicious. Who would have thought simplicity would taste so good. This morning gem has the best bagel concoction ever that's solely made in house. Personally speaking, I love the cheddar jalapeño bagel...loaded. 12/10 for the homemade garlic infused Olive oil (literally a secret weapon). Love this place! I've been quite a few times, which really says something cause I generally never hit up the same place more than a few times. Fair prices, good food, decent wifi, good background music/noise, clean bathrooms. I LOVE the breakfast sandwich. It's great bang for your buck. I usually will get the turkey option on a jalapeño bagel. I've introduced this to a bunch of friends so it comes highly recommended. I tried their samosa today... It tasted good (a wee bit spicy for me) but I'd rather go to an Indian place for future samosas. I also had an almond poppy seed muffin - it was nice and fluffy. Overall, highly recommend. Great place to do some work because it's not one of those super crowded cafes you walk in to see if there's space and then walk right back out. I'd honestly call this place a gem. COFFEE CRAVING SAVES ME FROM CLOUDBURST! SITREP Got the "bright idea" to do one more wander thru the Capitol Hill neighborhood (withOUT an umbrella) and another Seattle THUNDERBURST poured down rain, sending me looking for shelter. Luckily I happened to walk by this little gem. I soon realized I wandered into SEINFELD's "Bizarro Universe" and I was saying hello to SEINFELD's "Soup Nazi's" younger, nicer alternative incarnation in Jay (aka FAIZEL), the owner of this very awesome, eclectic establishment. THE FARE Faizel has incredible coffee drinks AND makes his soups from SCRATCH at super prices! He is definitely one of the most ICONIC residents of Capitol Hill I've ever met and his business card reads, "Gay coffee, Straight espresso." Such a delicious uber-chocolate MOCHA for only about $3 with a lunch offering of bowls of soup for about $4! You can't go wrong with the orders here. A big plus for me was I could open my laptop and get a quick review of my work emails over their FREE WIFI (that's ALWAYS a plus and a way for me to save money from having to use my 5 GB limited wireless cellular card!). There was also the Seattle papers for a quick view of the headlines. THE LOWDOWN A wAnderful wOnderful place to end up spontaneously, but with future planned stops for sure! read more

Awesome little cafe! Perfect location from my Airbnb. I stopped here almost every morning of my business trip. I had their egg breakfast sammie twice- it was simple yet delicious. I tried 3 different coffee drinks- iced soy latte, iced chai and regular hot latte. They were all great & well priced. I also had a bagel and cream cheese the last day of my trip and there was a generous amount of cream cheese, which I appreciated! The cafe workers were kind and pleasant. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and welcoming. There was plenty of seating each time i went. I will definitely stop back again next time I'm in Seattle! read more

This place is a cute, eclectic little spot on the corner near cal anderson which is a very convenient location! I've both taken my drinks to go enjoy in the park on sunny days and dined in on rainy days! I always get a dirty chai and it's phenomenal!! There pastries are very delicious as well. The only downside to this place is it has a bit of an interesting smell...it's smell like an old lady, very grandma's house musty type of smell. However, it's not super pungent and you go nose blind to it rather quickly after being in there. read more
