the tiny hidden bar, my favorite

This is my favorite restaurant in Rome....sophisticated, excellent kitchen, plating is beautiful and the wait staff impeccable. We weren't sure about a wine selection, so the maitre 'd brought us tastings of two wines....I was impressed. The truffle pasta and truffle pizza are excellent....the ambiance always brings me back. In good weather, we dine outside. I especially love the little bar tucked away inside, and the lovely appetizers served with the drinks. I have brought many friends and. family to this restaurant over the years and everyone says, This is the best food we have had in Italy.

Excellent ambiance. We were there on Christmas Eve. They had live music and special menu. We wanted something from the la carte menu which they gladly accepted. We had zucchini fried as appetizer followed by the main course. Pasta with truffle, pasta with mushroom and salad with shrimp. We needed with Apple pie and then green and chamomile tea. Just a beautiful experience and my family loved it. We shall return definitely!

This was the best place in Rome that I had food at. They serve dinner starting at 7 and have a very interesting menu with home made pasta. Very good and tasty. Worth it and it's no too pricey. Great service and atmosphere.

Might be one of the best beef (filetto di manzo) i ever had in my life

Great breakfast. The manager was a bit rude but the ambiance and the food made up for that.

As a Southern American trying to navigate Rome, I'm still completely confused. I cannot for the life of me figure out north vs. south or east vs. west in this city. Every street somehow looks historic, beautiful, and exactly the same. By 9 PM, after walking more than 10 miles today and standing in countless lines -- one for over an hour -- I was exhausted. I was close to my hotel and started looking for somewhere to eat. I had already passed Sofia earlier and really didn't want to backtrack even a few blocks. But after going the wrong direction again and somehow ending up right back near it, I figured that was a sign. So, Sofia it was. My ordering skills in Italy are still not exactly professional level. I really need a local Italian to help me. Yeah, I'm slow... remember, I'm from the South. I ordered the Mezza Maniche Carbonara. I mean, you can't really go wrong with noodles, cheese, and pork, right? A few minutes after ordering, they brought out this little appetizer-looking thing that I'm still confused about. It was this tiny little ball about the size of my thumb. I took one bite and it was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I'm not even sure I want to know what was in it, but at that point I was hungry enough not to ask questions. Then the pasta arrived. Drumroll... First bite? Absolutely divine. Rich, creamy, cheesy pasta with perfectly cooked pork mixed throughout. Fantastic. I devoured the entire plate, chased it down with a Coke, grabbed my glass bottle of water, and walked down the street carrying it like a Roman wino. Great food, great atmosphere, and a perfect little outdoor dining setup on one of Rome's tiny city streets

When I walked in, I was greeted and was able to easily find a seat to relax in. The restaurant was very comfortable and cozy with great decor and a lovely ambiance. There was seating both inside and outside and while the outside would have been better for people watching, I opted to dine inside, as it was brutally hot outside. Since I had used up most of my data during my trip, I was thankful for their free and fast WiFi. I was able to view their vast menu and ended up ordering the carbonara, as eating pasta in Rome is a must! If I didn't know this was a vegan restaurant, I never would have known from the creamy pasta sauce and the savory meaty faux bacon pieces. The pasta was also very fresh and doughy and seemed handmade. The carbonara really hit the spot for me! I ended up ordering the tiramisu for dessert, as I knew I would probably never find another vegan version in Rome! It was so decadent, creamy and indulgent with a great mixture of espresso and chocolate and even contained some Oreo pieces. The service was very warm and friendly and I am glad they were able to speak English to assist with the ordering process. It was on the slower side, but I didn't mind as I was in no rush and wanted to really relax and indulge at their lovely restaurant. I highly recommend coming here on a trip to Rome!
