Wine was poor and pricey. Food was ok but again pricey. Waiter was a tad abrupt and not warm and welcoming. It was just business to him. We brought a cake for the other couple who were celebrating a birthday. We brought the plates (plastic) and even plastic flatware to eat the cake. We asked the owner if we could eat our own cake. He was fine. $15 was added to final bill for cake service. We cut the cake and served it. Never any mention of adding $15 for bringing our own birthday cake. Probably won't go back. read more

Excellent service and food. The rice ball appetizer were large and very good(should have asked for sauce). The pasta carbonara with truffles was excellent! The conoli was good, open face and not as sweet as in USA. Waiter helped with wine selection and was very good. Everything from start to finish was excellent!!! One of the best restaurants we've even eaten at in Rome! We will definitely go back the next time we're in Rome! Our waiter, Pablo, was outstanding. He was engaging, informative, and made us feel totally at home. We tried 4 different homemade pastas and they were all excellent! We also loved the artichoke appetizers and the wine Pablo suggested was terrific. This restaurant is also not in the main tourist areas, so we were eating amongst locals, which was great. Recommended by our concierge. Really enjoyed the food. We wanted to try new varieties of food. This restaurant was so good we went back the next night. Absolutely loved the pasta - best carbonara we've had. The gnocchi was soft and pillowy and the sauce was unique and ever so tasty. The deconstructed cannoli was divine. The next day we tried the veal rib chop and sea bass rolls. Both were wonderful. The tiramisu was like no other. Lady fingers topped with a dome of ricotta encased in white chocolate. We ordered and our waiter questioned if we wanted the beer we ordered. He kept questioning us and we kept telling him we wanted what we ordered and rudely shrugged at us. Then when it came time to pay he specifically asked us if we wanted to tip and how much and put us on the spot. We were confused because no where in this area asks for tips and we even made a comment and he avoided eye contact knowing he was trying to rip us off. Prefer reservations but sometimes will let a group up to 6 in without reservations if early on a Thursday night . We were there at 6 pm. They were fully reserved after 8 pm on Thursday and Friday nights . If tourists eat early. Locals tend to eat after 730 pm- 8 pm Many places won't open until then . Horrible appetizers asked for no anchovies and didn't listen to us. Ordered the sliced pork and received a plate of 2" of grilled fat and about 2 millimeters of very thin pork. Sent it back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later they said making another. Told them to not bother and take it off the bill. Brought me the same thing. A plate of fat again. Made them take off bill. Others in party ordered fried seafood and margarita pizza and couldn't even finish it. Should have known when walked in that all employees were non Italians. Best advice is to avoid. read more

On a side street 1 block off the Main Street and perfect. Lots of outdoor and indoor space with a good wine list, including BIO wines. The food has lots of flavor and looks and tastes delicious. The pasta was "perfetto" and the cod was amazing!!!! Looking around we saw lots of delicious pizzas, other pasta options and also meat & cheese platters. I really enjoyed my dinner here and it was an unexpected surprise since I was wondering around lost in Rome and found it. I liked it because it was away from the crowds and the tourist-targeted spots where the staffs are rude and the food cheap and generic. This place is the opposite - the food is so delicious and packed with flavor and the staff is so friendly. They speak English (I'm trying to learn Italian but rather hard so far) and are very accommodating and friendly. I can't remember all the names of the delicious food but I ordered the pasta gricia cooked with bacon and asparagus and nicely paired with a local Italian beer. Then I had the salmon parvolo cheesy pizza which was heavenly and unlike the tasteless pizzas they serve at the tourist areas. The wine selection is plentiful and the desserts come from a great list including Italian tiramisu and chocolate tort. I'm going here again when I come back to Rome, and finding the waiter Paolo who was so nice and generous. read more

One of the best meals we've had in Rome, not just on this trip. We were impressed that all ingredients were local. The antipasto was great, with an excellent choice of cheese and meats. The main course, including grilled lamb chops and House made pasta with truffle sauce and shrimp were also outstanding. All very well prepared, flavorful and hot when served. The service was also excellent. We dined before 7 pm local so the restaurant was not busy. read more

Authentic Pasta; however, when you are charged a per person "table cloth fee"...do you believe this? Basically, they indicated that they need to charge for the table cloth that was on the table as it is a one time use. Tourist trap. This restaurant was recommended by the hotel; however, we realize that it was just a scam. To add insult to injury, they even said, "you need to place gratuity before you run your credit card" and then recommended something like 20%...In the US, I do pay 20% for service; however, when I notice that no bread came with our meal, while I saw other tables have bread, you know that something is wrong. Skip, unless you ask them ahead of time what fees they intend to charge you before receiving your bill. read more

I was here last night, with a party of 8. We got to the restaurant at 10:00 pm after a day of sightseeing. We asked to be seated and we were told to wait so they could rearrange tables to make it work for us. After 25' of waiting the manager came out to inform us that they could not accommodate a party of our size. I am guessing that they didn't want to handle our group because they were close to their closing time.
