This café/bar was literally steps from my Airbnb, and I ended up coming here a few times both during the day and at night. Honestly, some of my favorite moments in Rome were just sitting outside here by myself with a drink, people-watching (great spot for this) and soaking it all in. Made me want to come back just to chill here. Super easy setup, you just walk in, order, pay, and take your drink outside. There are plenty of tables out front, and even some indoor seating if it gets busy. I got limoncello and Aperol Spritzes for around €6 each, which is a great deal for the area. The vibe here is exactly what you want from a Rome café, relaxed, local, and effortlessly charming. 5 out of 5, easily. One of my favorite international cafes I've ever been to. read more

Had a Prosciuto Panini , egg sandwich, hot cafe latter and hot Americano and have been having severe diarrhea all day. Couldn't go anywhere but just lying in the hotel and running to the bathroom all day. First meal of the day early in the morning and my whole day was ruined. It looked like a great place. We stopped for wine. We were going to order 3 glasses wine and sit outside to drink. It was not busy, every table outside was empty. My son was eating his gelato and they told us we could not sit there unless he ordered something. Stupid business people to turned down 3 people who would have drank multiple glasses of wine and enjoy the weather. Idiot business people everywhere. Their loss! read more

A few mornings during our stay in Rome Super Cute Wife and I popped into L'Emporio alla Pace for some cappuccinos and a light breakfast. In full disclosure we came here as it was included in our nearby Air BnB stay as our breakfast option. The interior is very well decorated giving it a very inviting feel. We saw many locals either grabbing their morning coffee at the bar or sitting down for a leisurely visit with friends. The seating is nice and they have a decent amount of tables if you wish to enjoy your caffeine inside. I'm not a big coffee person but the cappuccino was tasty as were the pastries. SCW seemed pleased with her cappuccino as well. When you are done take the dishes back to the bar and away you go. Enjoy! read more

An excellent place no matter the time of day. Nestled in the heart of a touristy area of Rome, this unassuming place is a place of peace (pace) where you can sit inside or outside among bookshelves and great food. The place itself is small but doesn't feel cramped. We came here for a great breakfast of espresso and cornettos. Our friends had other pastries and cappuchini and were equally impressed with what they ordered. When we went, they had a gluten free item (singular). Our visit for apertivo was more impressive. Our aperol spritzes were great and a meat and cheese plate was simply divine; well worth the price! A word of warning - the plate took a while to come out, but it was worth the wait! There is no nonsense with the men behind the counter, so be ready to order when you go up there. read more

Every morning my wife and I would come down here for a croissant (sweet), espresso and orange juice. I really enjoyed how relaxing the environment was here. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us with our order (the first time). The croissant was flawlessly fresh. I couldn't wrap my head around how crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside it was. On top of that, it was lightly glazed making it slightly sweet. The OJ was made fresh in front of us. Best OJ we've had in a long time because Tropicana doesn't count lol. The espresso was also out of this world. It was a small cup, but damn was it worth it. It was smooth like silk and it was not gritty at all. Can't help but dream that I'm back in Rome.. I would definitely come back here if I do visit Rome again. Homey, fresh food and friendly service is the perfect equation! Side note: this is where we met Walton Goggins! Such a nice guy. I had breakfast here everyday during my recent stay in Rome. It was in a very convenient location just around the corner from where I was staying. A cup of cappuccino and a croissant cost only €1.80. The cappuccino was strong and nicely made. The croissants aren't made in-house, so they weren't the freshest I've had while in Italy, but there were multiple types to choose from. Overall, this is a good spot for quick and cheap coffee. read more

yummy coffee plus a variety of sandwiches and pastries nearby the ACCENT CENTER where I studied at. I had the cinnamon roll, which had nuts & no icing like I'm used to, but it was delicious and sweet anyways! My friends tried the broccoli and cheese tramezzino, the carrot cake, and the lemon cake slice & they said it was delicious as well! I also had a cappuccino, which was strong and yummy! There's seating inside, a little crowded when theres a rush, but nothing you don't get used to when you're in Rome. It's a very cozy and home-y cafe, and I wouldn't forget to bring study materials or read a book while visiting this cafe again. Service is quick, not as friendly as other places, but this doesn't affect me if the food/drinks are up to par! I will be back one day! read more

What a nice place! We actually visited the coffee three times during our stay in Rome. It is quite busy, so sometimes you have to have a little luck to get a table, but it is very nice to site there and observe locals and tourists coming into the shop. The team is quick and has, as you might imagine, a lot to do. Latte macchiato, panini, etc. very tasty. I assume this is a family business, and you can observe this from the attitude of the team. L'Emporio alla Pace is a cafe in central Rome, I'd like to start on commenting on the pricing, it is very cheap here and probably the cheapest place I seen on my trip to Rome, it cost 2.50 euros for a coffee and a toastie (just a shame the toastie wasn't gluten free!) The toastie was for my friend, and she did enjoy it after she sent it back (it wasn't toasted well enough!), she commented it was one of the best toasties she had in Rome, and they were pretty hard to find. The coffee was good quality too, and for 80 cents, it was fantastic. This place appears to me as a family business, hence I was upset with a certain incident. I came in here looking for wifi having been told I had it, a nice woman began to serve me and she tried to connect me to the internet, as she was struggling, she got who I think was her "son" to help out, he did originally seem nice and he did get me on the log-on screen, however the wifi needs you to log in with italian address/ phone numbers and when I mentioned this, the woman, who I think was the owner, got her son back and he seemed to shout at her and walk off, leaving me (the customer) without wifi. I really appreciate her trying and this is a nice place with very cheap pricing, they could even get away with charging double and the price still being reasonable but the incident with her son really disappointed me, this means I can only give 3 stars, even though I would of liked to give more. read more

One of the things I love about Rome for the solo traveler, is the new selection of cafes/wine bars that are also book stores. You can bring your own book, or pick one up there while enjoying a glass of wine, or espresso. Plus these locations are open in the evening, when the city is bustling with groups of young drinkers in search of the next night club. For the person who wants a quiet evening, but not locked up in their room, this is it. I loved chilling here with my awesome glass of Barolo, sinking into my book I bought for the trip. I've had better espresso outside Rome, near Cinque, but for the city I can't find myself going more often to Emporium than any where else! . 80 cafe, 1 euro cappuccino. Service is meh. Came across this little cafe while in search of the Trevi Fountain. I'd was a great place to sit down, drink or espresso and have some pastries while we reviewed our map and gathered ourselves. Yes it's in a touristy area, but when you see the locals come in to sit and drink and talk, you know it has to be pretty darn good! It was nice to have had our espressos, hot chocolate, and 2 pastries for under €12 which trust me in Rome is a great deal... This place is nice and cozy, and can get busy. In case you might not realize, Sunday is a big day for the big guy in the Vatican (and all of the numerous other places of worship throughout Rome). A lot of the businesses are closed, including your favorite little coffee shop around the corner. It forces you to deviate plans to find a new way of getting your caffeine fix. After yelp got rid of elites in many countries worldwide, the reviews have been sparse so we were at a loss trying to find a decent spot that was not a tourist trap. Thankfully we wandered past L'Emporio. You order at the bar but there are plenty of seats for relaxing while you enjoy your espresso/latte/cappuccino. The sandwiches are really fresh and toast up nicely. The cornetto was lightly sweet and very flakey. The espresso machine didn't stop once in the half hour that we were there. Our bill was only 4.60 which was fabulous for a small sandwich, cornetto and two coffees. The best part of sitting in a cafe though is the people watching. There was a group of jolly Italian priests enjoying very full glasses of wine (11am) right outside. By the time we left they were on their second glasses and were beginning to break into random song. A toddler spent most of her time having arguments with little toys while her parents had a chance to read a paper and drink some coffee. I was grateful for the little time out after wandering the city for a few hours. read more

I am in the city for work and had a day to myself. I searched on Yelp for places with WIFI and a cafe called Circus came up. Well, I went to circus and they weren't open.. even though online it said they opened at 10! So, I walked my merry little way to this place. It was bumping! The service was quick and I found a nice little spot on the couch to work for the next few hours. They did not have Free Wifi, but I was able to sign up for some connection that showed on my network for free! read more

Amazing little coffee shop in the narrow alley ways of historic religious rome. You will not be disappointed. Much like a traditional hippy US coffee shop with way better prices. It was €0.80 for coffee (expresso style as they do in Europe) and the same for a Macchiato with soy! Couldn't believe it. A latte was just 30 cents more.
