Veggie omelette
Heather M.

Wow!! Loved everything we had here!! HUGE proportions!! We easily split our entrees. A very diverse menu which I wish I made more time to try everything. The chicken quesadilla had the best cheese pull and chilis in it! The veggie omelette was also full of the freshest veggies and cheese served with hash browns and toast. Great Bloody Mary!

Update for special dining option for New Years: Absolutely loved the special dining menu for the holiday! To be expected, it was CRAZY busy, and the restaurant was packed! Food was good though, and price point was right for the amount of food I got. Our server wasn't really attentive to our table, so that was disappointing.

Service was great, the food was a miss. I did enjoy the salmon, the country fried steak was gross (mainly the gravy), the veggies were great and fresh, the clam chowder was good, we also had the tomato soup and tasted like the can. The fish and chips, salad were ok, but the one thing I had that was fantastic and didn't take a picture of was the Chicken Chow-mein- will have to come back and try it again just to make sure it wasn't a one off but it was delicious! Locals get a 20% off, so I would go for lunch and that's about it.

Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing

What a solid 24-hour option in Reno! The Peppermill Hotel & Casino continues to deliver, including this OG cafe that has a refreshed interior and the upscale diner food you may have enjoyed at their sister restaurant in Las Vegas. We ordered the Cobb salad (5/5) and the prime rib dinner with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, and salad (4/5). Prime rib was very flavorful but a tad overcooked for medium rare. A very thick slice and just the right amount of fat. Served with au jus and creamy horseradish. Yum. The tables were clean and the service was friendly and attentive. Stop by the Fireside Lounge next door for a dessert drink! Same cocktail menu in both the Cafe and the Lounge. Will return.

Grown-up grilled cheese $13.50

My friend and I were craving a light night snack after a long day of travel and work. I really wanted fries in particular. We stayed at Peppermill and Café Milano was one of our few late night options that served fries. The restaurant looks nice yet still casual. We were greeted right away and we let the staff know we just wanted to order takeout. They handed us a menu then took our order. We both opted for the grown-up grilled cheese $13.50. They quoted us a 15-minute wait so we decided to run up to our room to change. By the time we returned, our food was ready. We immediately devoured our sandwiches, which hit the spot. The sandwiches were big and came with plenty of fries. We probably could have shared one order, but we didn't know. Consider Café Milano if you need a late night option!

We stayed at the Peppermill Resort , on our second day we wanted to try this restaurant so we came down. It was 10 of us. The sever was quick. She took drink order and went ahead and took food order for those who were at the table already. My sister and I arrived minutes later but she made sure all the food came out at the same time. There was always coffee refills and we got all we needed to enjoy our meals. Food was great. Portions are huge, I took 1/2 of my food to go. Service was great, my server I wish what was her name but she was great too. Next time we come back to Reno we will be back to this place. The place was quiet , a bit busy and pretty clean. Unfortunately I Didn't take pictures of everything since my phone died. We will be back!

We were in a hurry so we dined at the counter. This is no Gordon Ramsay establishment. The chefs were enjoying themselves as they cooked. Our server Qian and the expediter William were delightful. It was nice to see the respect all of the staff had for each other The dinners come with a choice of soup or salad and dinner rolls. I chose the clam chowder. It was hot and delicious with lots of clams. I was stuffed after eating the bowl of chowder. Hubby enjoyed his salad and said the ranch dressing was creamy and flavorful My entree was the vegetable penne pasta with a chicken breast. I ordered it with out mushrooms. After seeing that it had mushrooms, Qian sent it back and gave me a complimentary bowl of fruit. The pasta was really good and enough to feed several people. My husband had his usual prime rib. He said it was slightly overcooked cooked but still tasty.

Service was good! Server was fast and kind. The food was actually super good. The kids spaghetti tasted a bit plain and off but everything else we got was yummy. We ordered some gravy and toast. The Asian sweet chili wings I think they were called which were crisp to perfection and the sauce was delicious. I asked them if they could make an iced coffee and they didn't that's that on menu but tried as hard as they could to make it for me. We also got some French toast for the kids and shared a breakfast burrito. I would go back again it was very good!

A great spot for lots of tasty dishes - not quite as fancy as Biscottis but still darn tasty. We've been coming here for many, many years - since it was called the coffee shop and you could still play Keno while you dined. Lots has changed but the quality is still usually quite high. A few times the omelettes and burgers have been cooked a bit long, but service is consistently friendly and offerings extensive. The muffins are always a highlight for the fam though biscottis seems to have more variety on offer than cafe Milano. Don't sleep on the pumpkin cream cheese muffin when it's available - it's to die for. Prices are a little steep but the generous portions make it worth it - and 20% off for locals (with a players card) helps out too.

Service was not good from the beginning. They told us 15 min wait ended up being 30 minutes.... Waited for chicken and fries and. bLT for about 1 hour. She did apologize that it was new cooks but gosh really on a weekend especially on brawl crawl weekend, Ambiance was bad waiting and waiting......

Salmon Sandwich

Solid option for lunch at the Peppermill Resort. I got a salmon sandwich to go. Service was good although they did take about 15-20 minutes to get the food out, which they notified me of beforehand. Overall the dish was good, the fries were crispy and tasty. The avocado on the salmon was a nice touch and they gave a generous portion. The bread was nicely toasted and buttered, the sandwich itself was huge as well! The salmon itself I found rather lacking. It was done well but I don't think it was seasoned at all, or if it was I could barely taste it. Some salt, pepper, or even oregano would have been a nice touch. I certainly expect it for a dish that I paid $25+ for. I also got a latte to go, which was great for an afternoon pick me up and enough to save for breakfast the next morning. Overall it was a good experience, just missing some things that could have made the dish stand out.

We were seated right away but the service was awful. Server seem not happy to be there. She rarely checked if we need anything. Drinks was not offered when all parties arrived. I get it that they were busy but whatever happened to good customer service. Food was delicious and tasty.

Service is amazing. Our waitress super friendly and knowledgeable with menu. Ambiance was packed but calm always super clean. The food you definitely get your moneys worth. We under estimated the portion sizes and are bigger then expected.

Our server checked on us the right amount and our food came out quickly. We ordered the Giant Hamburger and the BLT. The burger was thick, juicy, and piled high with classic toppings, messy in the best way and full of flavor. The BLT was generously stacked with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomato on toasted bread, simple and satisfying. The only downsides were the fries and my drink. The fries were overcooked, dry, and a bit too tough. I ordered a vodka soda, and it tasted more like soda with a splash of vodka. Overall, it was a good experience and we would return.

Also, there's quite a few seafood options which I love & are always on the pricier side! Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. I absolutely loved the White Linen -- and that's saying a lot because I'm usually not much of a gin drinker. Tonight I also tried the Blueberry Lemon Drop. I tend to like more of a tart citrus flavor, so it wasn't exactly the tartness I expected at first; however, once I ate the blueberry garnish and took another sip, it completely changed the drink for me and tasted much better. I also tried two of their specials -- the Salmon with Alfredo sauce and the Tenderloin sliders. Again, Alfredo normally isn't my thing, but the Salmon was cooked beautifully and the sauce was very enjoyable, especially since they accommodated my request for a lighter amount. Since I couldn't decide between dishes, I ordered the tenderloin sliders to-go as well... and they were delicious too! Our server Miguel was new and did a really good job. Cons: the cashier, our waitress and the manager lack initiative. Our server disappeared at the end of the meal; meanwhile, we had a starring contest with the cashier who I guess couldn't leave her station to drop off the check or ring us up, so we had to walk-up to the hostess to ask for the check, to which we were directed to the manager who then dropped off a copy of the receipt after about 20 minutes but didn't bother ringing it up. Instead, she strolled out to the casino floor with another woman and had a long, languid conversation. After about an hour, we flagged her back down and told her we were ready to pay the bill, she then directed us to the bar where the cashier was. So in summary: food was good, some of the service was good but overall service could use some improvement.
