Superbowl Matcha special
Mahika A.

I've been here many times before and it's usually a great experience. The food is good - nothing crazy. I tried the Go Hawks matcha (super bowl special), and it was really good very sweet. It's pretty similar to an Einspanner Matcha with the sweet cream on top. I didn't really like the raspberry jam in it because the seeds were a little difficult to drink. My friend got an avocado toast, which was also good, but you can't really go wrong with avocado toast. What was frustrating this time was my friend who is allergic to sesame wanted to get the healthy skillet. The bread and the healthy skillet has sesame in it so she asked if they could replace it with something instead they charged her extra for a croissant which wasn't very accommodating. They also didn't even warm up the croissant. I think there are a lot of other great cafés in the area. I think I'll check those out instead.

My feelings are mostly for the amazing pastry they get from Freya.. but seriously they're incredible. My threeeyear old ask for the cruffin and dang it was delicious, custardy inside, sugary fun outside I got the pear crème brûlée pastry it was amazing. I don't care much for their coffee but I keep coming back for the pastry!

Weekend brunch includes a glorious spread of sweet and savory goodies (June 2025)

While Seattle has plenty of great coffeehouses, Cafe Hagen stands out for us! The plant-filled interior gives the place an inviting, peaceful ambiance, and the service was friendly and on point. We intentionally wanted to try their brunch after reading other reviews, along with their coffee offerings. The Cafe Hagen Brunch was a real treat, with a beautiful board of soft scrambled eggs; a crispy Danish waffle topped with a berry jam, scoop of whipped cream and powdered sugar; several slices of smoky bacon; a bowl of guacamole topped with sesame seeds; ripe grapefruit wedges; two wedges of artisan cheeses; housemade bread; and rich butter. We also enjoyed their latte flight which included creative flavors, including kebenhaven, hazelberry, raspberry-bloom, and strawberry-coconut. Need any more reasons to try Cafe Hagen for breakfast/brunch? I didn't think so :-)

Such a CUTE Scandinavian Cafe! I made it in before the 2pm crowd rushed in. The menu was very straight forward with traditional cafe menu items with an added section of their Scandinavian specials. There's a full breakfast menu, lunch, and sandwiches. 2-5 pm also has a HH menu along with a variety of drinks. I ordered the salted caramel latte with oat milk and the toasted Brie and prosciutto toast. OMG it was soooo good and savory. I would come back just for the toast! The decor is definitely clean and Scandinavian style. Very easy to work and spend time here.

Every Seattleite has a fav cafe here and mines this one. Been here so many times now that I basically spend most of my Saturday/Sunday mornings here. I absolutely love love it. What I also really love is the whole Scandinavian vibe. Their Nordic style brunch and coffee menu, minimalist ambiance, indoor plants, lots of light(on the days when the suns out here in Seattle lol) and the branding is all cozy hygge feeling. My go to order is their chicken & avo panini. It's super filling, super fresh and it hits every single time. I'm also currently obsessed with one of their seasonal specials: the København Scandinavian classic latte with almond and cardamom. The almond gives it this soft, nutty base and the cardamom adds a warm spice taste. Staff is chill and friendly! Also it's dog-friendly. My friend and I spend hours here with our coffees and our paw friend enjoys his treats and people watching! My absolute favoriteee cafe!

I came here with some coworkers for lunch. I don't normally come to cafes for a meal so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was a little surprised to see just how busy it was! I became a little worried that there wouldn't be enough room for us to sit down. We got lucky as some people left. I decided to go with the Urban Pesto Panini Sandwich. We didn't have to too long for the food to get ready. The sandwich had good taste and I loved the bread they used to make it! The inside of the cafe is nice with modern like decoration and furniture which is what I like. The staff was nice but there was minimal service but it was busy so I completely get it. Not a bad spot!

I really enjoyed our brunch here during the weekend. I was worried at first because there was a line out the door but it's an order first before you sit down type of place. I would say come earlier if you're in a larger group but we were lucky to get a table under an umbrella for our group. The menu is pretty extensive but be sure to check timing of the items on the menu if you want to try something. We had a couple items to share with the table and really enjoyed the coffee flight and the breakfast board. Easy to share and enjoyed the flavors! The coffee is on the sweeter side so if you like it black I probably wouldn't recommend it. I would totally get the board again and you can pick your protein. I was skeptical if it would be filling to share between two people but it was actually a good amount as long as you take your time to eat it. haha

Pear cheese danish

On a late Saturday morning we were out walking our dog when we stumbled upon Cafe Hagen -- kind of in the middle of nowhere, squeezed between high-rise buildings. There was a big line for coffee, so we figured it must be worth it. Why not give it a try? The moment we walked in, we instantly felt warm and fuzzy. The place just has that cozy vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. We ordered the ham and cheese croissant sandwich, a pear and cheese danish, and of course some coffee. Service was quick and done with a smile, which always makes the experience better. Since we had our dog, we grabbed our goodies and sat outside. We split everything -- sweet, savory, and the coffee -- and it all disappeared pretty fast. The ham and cheese croissant even had a pickle inside, and I've got to say... it was delicious and tasted freshly made. The pear and cheese danish was even better than expected -- that combo of pears and cheese was excellent. Overall, great food, friendly service, and a cozy spot we're glad we found by accident. Thanks, Cafe Hagen -- we'll definitely be back!

Ordered the hazelnut latte and the chicken+avo panini sandwich (not pictured). My latte was delicious and not too sweet. The sandwich was sweet and savory and I loved the sauce. Quick service and to-go options are available. I love the hanging plants all throughout the cafe.

Italian style croissant sandwich

This was so good, but literally at a price. I wanted to catch up with a friend during a very busy weekend and went here with him on a Saturday for a late lunch around 2pm. This area is a very relaxing Scandanavian cafe that's about an 18-minute walk from the Seattle Convention Center in downtown, otherwise parking looks tough around the area. With enough sunlight, you feel like you could calmly read a book here and enjoy the plants around the inside, or just sit outside on the many tables with umbrellas shading you from the sun. Well, we would have sat out here had the best seats with the shades not been full, but we got seating near some sunlight and an open window which honestly feels similar enough. People have mostly came in and walked out with drinks, or dined in like my friend and me. Music of various genres does play inside, so it is slightly noisy but not overbearingly so. After you place your order, you're given a number that you're advised to put up in a visible way so that servers can bring your food to you. Water and utensils are self-serve here, and you bus your own table. I got the Italian style croissant sandwich, which comes with pepperoni, salami, prosciutto and leafy greens all sandwiched together by two fresh and somewhat oily croissant buns. I didn't need the provided fork and knife to eat this; this is literally a sandwich. And oh boy was this really good and deceptively filling and heavy! All the meat had such savory tones that fit very well with the croissants, and it felt like I was eating a much better version of a meat sandwich. The leafy greens did fall apart quickly but I didn't mind that. It got a little messy eating, but it tasted just as good as it was Instagrammable with the sunlight and window backdrop, and it was such a hearty meal. A croissant sandwich is quite expensive, though; mines was $14.95 before tax, and my friend's market club croissant sandwich was $15.95 before tax, both the same size as a single regular Costco croissant. My friend and I also shared a slice of strawberry jam cheesecake. I don't enjoy cheesecake, but this one wasn't heavy on the cheese and instead I could taste more of the strawberry jam. That's a plus for me! I don't remember what the price for this was, but it's safe to say it's about as expensive as most items on their menu. I don't think I'll go out of my way to come eat here, but for the visit I had with my friend this is great place to catch up with someone or to share some deep conversations while enjoying some feel-good food!

Cafe Hagen is a beautiful space with lots of plants and a calm, peaceful atmosphere. I got the pecan sticky brioche bun, and they happily warmed it up when I requested them to since it was in a case. It wasn't too sweet and the pecans added a nice crunch. The interior is really pretty and it's a great place to work or catch up with a friend. I came later in the day so they ran out of a lot of their baked goods, so I'd definitely come back earlier to try more of their stuff.

Brie & prosciutto
Anjelica C.

Food - this brie prosciutto thing was really good. they really pile on the toppings. had a bite of the sammie and it was good too, but the brie & prosciutto was my fav. they have a ton of pastries so will have to come back for those. Service - friendly, but really ordered & sat down. didn't have too much interaction. Ambiance - some indoor & outdoor seating. which is nice during the summer months. so many plants inside! which always gives me good vibes. the outdoor seating has brick but also fake grass. i was worried my dog might pee on the fake grass, but we were fine. a few other dogs sitting close to us. this location is also next to a park.

I got the KØBENHAVN latte on recommendation for something a little less sweet it's almond and cardamom but I could only taste an overwhelming almond flavor. So much so that it overpowered the coffee which I didn't feel like I got a good taste for. My husbands iced chai was pretty standard but good! My breakfast sandwich was very average and I wouldn't get it again (I added bacon and avocado so it was $17). The homemade bun was good but too much bread for the ratio so I took the top off. My husband said his seasonal jam waffle was good!

The grilled cheese was made to perfection the bread was fresh, thick, and delicious, and it was packed with cheese! The tomato soup was also delicious with a unique flavor. My only (very minor) complaint is that it was served in a cup, which made it hard to dip the grilled cheese. A bowl would've been much better for dipping! Overall, this café was a quiet, cozy spot with pleasant employees. I'd definitely visit again.

Because you never turn away a delicious PNW Salmon dish. The place is cute, mainly wooden, lots of plants inside (my allergies were killing me here hehe). Plenty of sitting areas and window views too. I got lucky to seat by a window to just enjoy the rainy view. Their Salmon toast was delicious! I asked for the cream cheese on the side because I cant have lactose but I still wanted to try their dish with all ingredients. So I dipped the slices a few times to try it all and omg its so perfectly paired. I totally recommend it! The coffee was ok. I had their gingersnap latte seasonal drink. I asked with only 1 pump of sweet and alternative milk. I was not impressed. I prefer black coffee haha but if you enjoy sweet drinks you may enjoy this one. I still finished it, so it wasn't terrible just not something I'd order again. Also, Idk why my coffee was served on a to-go cup. Maybe that took some of the joy of it? Overall, I recommend the this spot. Staff was friendly. The menu is vast. Sitting arrangements are great and cozy. Within walking distance from the convention center and a couple of the hotels in the area.

They sell themselves around being a holiday themed shop which isn't a bad thing, but when it's not the holiday season, the charm feels almost mismatched. All that to say, I love the idea, the space, and the vibes here but have often looked past it because of my perception with the branding. However, I will say their menu is great and the holiday joy is more of a supplement rather than a cover up or gimmick. I would comfortably visit Jollidaze for their drinks and get a working session. Wifi available, washroom (restrooms) available, and outlets available. Ube Phe Latte - rich, creamy, ube foam on top of a strong ca phe! There's also some ube milk, so a three layered drink. Both parts of ube were nutty, sweet, and paired with the ca phe amazingly. Strong Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk always hits but the ube mixture is a cherry on top. Up there with the other ube coffees around. Strawberry Matcha - honestly a simple no frills strawberry matcha. Smoothly whisked matcha, lightly sweetened strawberry puree, and a cup to be mixed in. Maybe more jam than other spots, which can help sweeten the drink and add some texture (chewiness), so might have to say above average.
