This place is a gem! Venezuelan food is not something you can find in every neighborhood let alone city. I've always had a thing for arepas so when I was invited to check this place out I was excited. They didn't disappoint! The food was generous, nicely priced, &&&&&& delicious! I wish I could have eaten more but I was sooo stuff after one arepa. We tried the pernil arepa and the pernil yoyos and they were both reallly good. We ordered something else to go but have not tried it yet as we are still stuffed. There was a man and woman working there both in which we're kind and courteous. That really made this place much more special. I love these type of places where you feel like you were invited into someone's home for a delicious meal. read more

So I ordered a meal from Grubhub for pickup because between the delivery charges and the God who knows what charges it was cheaper to pick it up.... So I got a Grilled Chicken Plantain Sandwich. It was by far more than I expected. The bread had a little bit of a fried pita taste. The grilled chicken was seasoned just right and the sauce that came with it was amazing. On top of that they gave me what I think was some sort of secret sauce on the side and also ranch dressing at no charge. The sandwich was messy but that is what napkins are for. It was appropriately priced and came in a sealed container that stayed warm on my 8 min trip back to work. I will definitely be visiting you again. read more

Definitely a fan of this place. I ordered from a diff location and wasnt happy, but I havr ordered from here twice and I have not been disappointed. Ordered the roast pork yoyos and they were amazing. The pork was well seasoned and succulent. The sweet plantain patties that serve as the bread for the sandwich was amazing. Not oily like the other location. The food was priced decently but my only gripe is the delivery fee. There delivery fee is mainly due to a 3rd party contractor. Original review: We had a craving for yoyos (flattened semi ripe plantain discs with various fillings) and found this place through Yelp. We called our order in for takeout (I believe they do deliveries too) and went to pick it up about 15 minutes later. The neighborhood can be a bit dodgy at night and it didn't seem like there was a lot of parking available. We did the NY thing and double parked while one of us went in to get it. We also got orders of papelon (lime drink with cane sugar) and tres leches cake. Gratitude to the Yelper who posted pics of the menu! Everything was fantastic. The restaurant looks unassuming from the outside, but the food is great. The yoyos were perfect. They are similar to patacones, but a bit sweeter as they are made with riper plantains. The shredded beef filling was flavorful and tender and I will definitely be returning to try their cachapas and patacones. The tres leches cake was delicious as well. I wanted to check out this spot since I was in the area and saw the 4.5 stars on Yelp. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and avocado arepa and I had the grilled chicken patacon sandwich. Both were very good and flavorful. It's more of a take out or delivery place as there is limited seating but the food is good and relatively inexpensive s as far as value goes it is tough to beat. read more

Oh my god! Madre mia! That was just about the best delivery experience I have ever had. Sincerely. Usually I don't just go off on a limb and order delivery from a place I have never tried but Venezuelan sounded good to me and the reviews do not lie! Amazing sandwich! Super rich but very tasty. Food aside, I actually called to confirm my order processed because after ordering on here I realized how far they are ( I live in Crown Heights and they're in East Ny, no place I know delivers that far. ) and the lady which her name escapes me I think it was Gabi? I HAD to give this place an updated review. I am not sure what happened from when they opened to now but I constantly ordered from here and the past 3 times has been horrible. Like I stated in my last post, I order the same thing each time...you would think it would come the same each time but unfortunately, no. They have this thing where if you order for delivery, they give you the burned, overcooked, or undercooked things. The last order they sent me a burned yoyo-- to the point i couldn't even bite into it. Another time they sent me one undercooked, and another time they didn't send half of my order. I ordered a cheese empanada, thinking it would be a Venezuelan Empanada, given that this restaurant is clearly Venezuelan. I am Venezuelan myself, and when I get these cheese empanadas, I find out that they are NOT VENEZUELAN Empanadas. They are COLOMBIAN. Venezuelan empanada dough has a sweetness and softness to it, while a Colombian empanada is yellow, and the dough is stiff. This is a HUGE letdown because I was looking forward to having a Venezuelan empanada. I am just giving a heads-up to people who think it is a Venezuelan Empanada and also to other Venezuelans expecting it to be a Venezuelan empanada like myself.
