a buffet with a variety of food items

The Caninet is one of the in house restaurants in the Grand Hyatt Hotel. This is the only restaurant that that is open for full service breakfast is in the hotel which starts at 7am. They have a wide ranging menu as well as a large buffet. The space is quite large overall so it should be easy to get a table quickly. I had the buffet and it was just ok. The eggs were scrambled eggs which unfortunately tasted like you would expect from a buffet. The bacon was slightly over done and a bit too sweet for my taste as it was an applewood smoked bacon. The sausage Pattie's also were very overdone and required some force to cut through. They have a wide range of other common American breakfast options as well like pancakes and french toast which I did not have. They had what I would consider a more European style small breakfast of cold meats and cheeses available as well. They did have a good selection of healthier options such as chia seeds, yogurt, etc. The star of the buffet in my opinion was the fresh fruit. It was very good, fresh and full of flavor. They also had a wide array of breads to choose from as well. The buffet is a bit expensive in my opinion at $30. I would probably not come back unless it was included in the room rate or something like that.

Awful hotel breakfast. The chorizo eggs left a lot to be desired. Do not go by the rating, this is a foodie's worst nightmare.

The bartenders were friendly, filled waters promptly and were fast. I came in about 5pm on a Saturday and there were only 5-6 other people at the bar, but the dining area was pretty full. This place has an almost pioneer-ish vibe with all of the taxidermy on the walls mixed with like your Uncle's cabin in the woods in the 60s. I was digging it. I started with the buttermilk biscuits and pimento cheese. Wow. I could have eaten all of them. The bartender and I agreed that it wasn't a good idea. He said he did it once. I also had a mint julep, and while I normally like them, this one was a little different. The presentation was cool, but the drink was all ice, which was disappointing. For dinner I had the Butcher's Steak, medium well (should have gotten medium) and the Brussels sprouts. I'm thinking about the leftovers now. The folks next to me ordered my exact meal because it looked so good. I will indeed return! Thanks, St. Anselm!

The decor was right up my alley: gorgeous details, stunning florals, absolutely beautiful. We both went with the Plat Américain, a classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, crispy fingerlings, and a croissant. A simple but solid choice! The croissant especially was so soft and fluffy, thoroughly enjoyed that. I ordered an iced latte and asked for it to be sweetened, but it came out pretty punchy... I don't think the sweetener made it in! If you're into a strong, bold latte you'll love it, but if you like yours on the sweeter side, just make sure to double check with your server. The manager also stopped by our table mid-meal which was a nice touch, super friendly and personable. It was a pleasure!

When one thinks of a biscuit they think of a fluffy savory item that is a least the size of your palm. These "biscuits" were a joke! Hard as a rock and the size of a cracker!!! Either change the description on the menu or reduce the price significantly- heck do both!! Then the main items came out- we were there for brunch. We asked for over easy eggs, and all the eggs came out overcooked. The sausage was burnt to a crisp and lacked flavor. Given this is a Mediterranean cuisine the flavor should be popping! We had to send the food back at that point! The food that was returned back to us was not any better. This place had potential but the chef really needs to reevaluate his menu items and the final dish that is served to patrons. Would t not recommend.

We stumbled upon this new restaurant on the H Street corridor 8th street--a neighborhood that can feel a bit rough around the edges--but what we found inside was nothing short of a true gem. The moment we stepped in, we were stunned by how beautifully designed the space is. The décor feels warm, elegant, and thoughtfully curated, offering a calm retreat from the busy street outside. But the real magic arrives on the plate. Every dish we tried showcased fresh, high-quality ingredients, layered flavors, and a clear respect for the rich culinary heritage of the Ottoman and Istanbul royal family traditions. You can taste the care and legacy behind every recipe. This is not just another brunch spot--it's a place where history, culture, and freshness come together in a way that feels both authentic and elevated. They have both the upstairs and downstairs of the building. Upstairs is a great social gathering with a bartender and the back patio is nicely renovated that can host pet in the summer months. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely proud of what the restaurant offers. It's rare to find a place that surprises you in all the right ways, but Tiffany's Bistro & Bar does exactly that. A beautiful concept, executed with heart. We can't wait to come back.

I will say the space is really open and modern which I liked and it's located within the Waterfront. My friend and I ordered a few dishes to share: Biscuits, Shrimp and Grits, and the Berry French Toast. Only one biscuit was soft and fluffy. The other was pretty dry and hard so we didn't finish it. The honey butter (I believe) was light and did compliment the biscuit very well. I just wished we could've enjoyed the same consistency across the two biscuits we ordered. The shrimp and grits was a solid portion. They didn't skimp on the jumbo shrimp or the sausage and this is definitely a dish you can share. I thought it was a little too salty for my taste but again, the meat in this dish was seasoned well. They used challah bread for their french toast which made it nice and dough-y. I thought this was the best dish that we ordered and again, can definitely be shared between two people. It's sweet on it's own, so if you don't have that extra sweet tooth, you won't need to add the syrup. I'd like to try this place again the next time I'm in town and maybe try out their mimosas and other entrees.
