This is my second experience with a beach/pool side bar/restaurant at a Waldorf resort and I am impressed. The food and drinks are expensive. No one can deny that, but they are good. The f&b does not have to be good with a corner on the market, but they are. And honestly, it was better than I expected. For someone who hates sweet things, the strawberry/banana daiquiri was delicious and my fiance loved the the marg. As for food, the black bean hummus platter was the favorite. I don't know what kind of baked bread/chip things they use, but they were unique and amazing for a flavorful hummus. It's also the little things. They didn't give us baby carrots to dip in the hummus, but they grilled real carrots. So good.
The service is also great. While you can't beat poolside service, we had an amazing time because of Meritxel. Aside from the service and her recommendations, she has an engaging personality. Not only was she amazing with us, but I would watch her with other guests and it was the same thing. You could see her connecting with so many guests. She was creating an experience. For us, she went above and beyond. We found out that she got back from Puerto Rico where we will be going at the end of the year. She immediately sat down, pulled out pen and paper, and started giving us recommendations. On top of that, she gave us her phone number for any questions we may have. I have never seen anyone open up like that in any sort of transactional type relationship. She truly was one of the best highlights of our trip. read more
