Chilaquiles with over-easy eggs and gooey cheese
    Tria M.

Always very good lunch food (with a view), this time tried breakfast. Hubby had an omelette with sausage, and I had the Chilaquiles with eggs over-easy. Some of the tastiest Chilaquiles I've had in AZ, beans and corn were a nice addition. Coffee was hot and tasty served in large le Crueset cups (nice). Great friendly service too! Will be back. A hidden gem.

    Happy hour with friends

We stopped in here this week for a happy hour with friends before heading to the Zoo for Roars and Pours. Our friend had reserved a firepit spot for us and just 'wow'- so comfy around the fire enjoying friends, wine and snacks. There was live music as well (he was VERY good!), service was excellent and the sunset was incredible. There is a huge grassy area where kids were playing, and a friend brought her pup so patio is dog friendly. I will say the happy hour pricing wasn't great- $1 off wine- but being on a golf course and with this view of the Papago mountain, they don't really need to provide a deal lol. Excellent spot for a group gathering!

Came here on a Monday afternoon for lunch with a bunch of mom friends and our kiddos. We had spent the morning at the zoo so this was a convenient, close place to grab food. A couple of the friends I was with come here quite a bit because they can sit outside with the kids, who can run around the nice big grassy area. Anywhere with a space the kids can be loose and free is a HUGE BONUS! I called ahead and made a reservation since there was 11 of us total. They set us up at one of their fire pit areas, that were all fully in the sun. They had umbrellas around but we had to move them, and set them up ourselves. I guess they didn't mind that we moved the umbrellas but they also didn't help us. Service was slow and food was not very good. It's rare I feel this way - I'm not a picky eater, I'm usually very pleased with most things. I got the fish and chips and the fish was tough. My friends said their fish tacos were really dry. I tried my daughter's chicken fingers and they were also tough! It's like they were using bad pieces of meat. The french fries were great. Overall, I don't think it was worth the money.

I picked this place randomly to meet up with a friend.. I didn't realize this was the golf course restaurant though .. you will see Papago mountains in the background which is nice.. they have a nice patio are that's fenced in.. which is very nice if you have little ones.. They can run around.. they also have corn hole in which you can play.. the service was overall good can't complain about that.. the food was avg though.. nothing really stood out BUT this is a very casual spot.. which is nice and the views Defin makes it worth it to come back..

A first visit after a baseball game at Papago sports complex. We tried the French dip and the chicken enchiladas. Both were exceptional. The chicken enchiladas had a very nice cream sauce and the chicken was well prepared and very flavorful. Unfortunately, our check got mixed up and there was a little bit of delay, getting our meals. However, they were very accommodating, apologetic and comped part of our meal as a result of their error. This is an awesome space for kids and adults and has a great view. Looking forward to trying their breakfast next.

Went here for brunch/lunch on Sunday. Pretty much just go here for the ambiance, and the nice big dog-friendly patio. I really enjoy that they have a nice grass area for you to let your dog stretch their legs, and have low top tables and couches that let you be nearby your dog. Our service was OK. Right after our server brought our waters over, he spilled one all over the table and didn't even say sorry or attempt to wipe it down, just left it there to run across the table! I thought that was pretty funny but no worries since we were outside. My chicken and waffles were a little measly on the tenders and burnt waffles, which I don't understand why they had charred them! Not a huge deal. Oh and they only have Pepsi products. That was truly the only bummer.

If you're looking for a family friendly venue that offers indoor and outdoor space, a fun vibe, great views, etc... you can't go wrong with Lou's. I've been with my family a handful of times and I have never been disappointed. I will say that my first couple of visits, I was a bit underwhelmed with the food, but I think it's gotten better and I have been impressed with it as of late. On a recent visit, I had a Bloody Mary and a Cobb Salad with Shrimp, and some sweet potato fries. My family also enjoyed wings and pizza. It looks like Lou's does a great job with catering to large groups as it always appears to have private functions going on... I need to keep this in mind for future! I will definitely be back, especially now that my kids seem to be taking up golf!

Solid golf course restaurant patio vibes, and decent food. A great place to enjoy a meal with friends and take in a sunset.

We weren't fans of the brandy spritz, although my friend grew into it. The primrose martini was quite good, I liked it better than the appletini. For snackies, we ordered the glizzy gaunlet, which was basically a tower of carbs. It came with 5 mini dogs with milk bread, and potato wedges. There were 3 sauces, my favorite in order were the: truffle dijonnaise, kosho aioli, and korean ketchup. We enjoyed this more than the food at Filthy Animal. Although it was pricey ($22) for just carbs and hardly any protein. The milk bread was delicious and the mini dogs were pretty good too. The potato wedges were cooked perfectly, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Would I return? Probably not. The food was better than the drinks but it wasn't outstanding.

Coach House is a year-round Christmas-themed bar. Located in Old Town Scottsdale, a block or two away from Fifth Avenue, there's a parking lot that was pretty full when I arrived. If you can't find a spot, you can find some free street parking close by (max of three hours). Ambiance (4/5): A lot of holiday pop-ups these days have entrance fees and expensive holiday-themed cocktails. You'll find none of that pretentiousness here. There's no entrance fee and no elaborate cocktails. The reason to visit is the multitude of Christmas lights that adorn both the patio and the indoor area. There are also a bunch of TVs which makes it a good spot to check out the game. It's mostly a patio bar, but there is some room indoors too. As well as Golden Tee and another game. Service (4.5/5): There's a bouncer checking your ID before you come in. From there, there's a larger bar inside where you can order a drink from one of two bartenders (at least when I was there) or a smaller outdoor bar with one bartender (at least when I was there). There's a cash discount (which I always appreciate). What that means is that they don't charge you tax if you pay by cash. While the bar was busy, the bartenders working were efficient. Food (N/A): Coach House doesn't serve food but they did have a Mexican food truck posted up on the patio while I was there. I didn't have any food during my visit though. Drinks (N/A): Since The Coach House is a dive bar, expect a full bar, but don't expect fancy cocktails. Ordering simple mixed drinks or beer is the way to go. They were out of Montucky Cold Snacks so I went with a Woodchuck Cider for $6. Affordable prices in the heart of Scottsdale... I'll take that any day of the week! Speaking of Christmas miracles, while I was sipping my beer on the patio, I saw two black SUVs pull up. A group of people came out of the cars and there was one person who I immediately recognized. Tatum the bartender came over and took our order, not very friendly but it was decently busy so no biggie, she checked all of our ID's and brought over the first round of drinks. Our actual waitress then comes over and we try to order another round of drinks when she then asked if she could see our ID's to verify and we all gladly gave her the ID's and this is when things go bad. The waitress took our ID's to scan because she wasn't confident that they were real, we agreed but we look over and she's searching in a book and going online to verify if our ID's were real and at that point it had been about 10-15 minutes of her analyzing the ID's and we just told them to cancel our last round and we will just pay the bill and go because we could tell her concern wasn't to find out if they were real but to prove they were fake. Being a neighboring state to Arizona and working a bar you would assume they have experience with California ID's. After everything she tells us we can no longer be served insinuating that our ID's were fake. Not a single other table around us even got their ID checked. And as we looked around we were the only ones who were of color and no one else in that bar were being bothered with their ID's. As I asked for our ID's back and for the bill Tatum gave me plenty of attitude and didn't bother to tell our waitress our request to cancel the order and return our ID's. After everything we were told we could no longer be served because after all that time waiting her scanner randomly didn't want to work. So a bars ID scanner does not work, a light wasn't used to verify the ID and with the use of the internet and book she still couldn't verify our ID's. After everything no manager was called, no reasoning was given to us on why she thought the ID's weren't real and we were told we couldn't be there even after they had served us alcohol. So if our ID's were so suspicious why serve us the alcohol to begin with. If foul play was being done which wasn't on our end it was already done on their end.
