We had a ladies brunch day today at Métropolis. The food choices were great and flavorful. The prices were great. We had an amazing waitress, Iliana and she was our waitress and bus person. She was a one woman show and we had a party of 11. The only negative was the location is small inside and our party was outside and it was hot. Metropolis is located in a mixed use office and residential complex just outside Old Town Scottsdale. It's more of a small restaurant with a bar for locals, with both indoor and outdoor seating. There are fountains adjacent to the outdoor seating area, which add to the ambiance during daylight hours. I liked that they have a daily specials menu, and food prices are very reasonable compared to area restaurants. We started off with wings which were on special, and they were of decent quality and taste. For meals, we ordered the Mykonos salmon and rice, Sonoran cheeseburger, and cheese pizza flatbread. There were no weak points to the meal, as all the items were tasty and prepared well. Even the flatbread pizza hit the spot with us. The waffle fries had a special seasoning to them without too much heavy potato flavor, so were worth the upcharge to try out. The burger was well above average and cooked to wellness as requested, although the crispy onions on top weren't the best. The owner/bartender mentioned the one wait staff member called out sick, so did an incredible job of running the show attending to all the dining patrons himself, and checked in on us quite a few times. It take a little bit to get the check at the end of the meal, but service was great otherwise. All in all, although Metropolis is a bit hidden and probably doesn't get much tourist/visitor business, it's a solid and reasonably priced option for food in an area of Scottsdale that can get get quite expensive for meals. read more

Went on a weekday afternoon and it wasn't busy. Ordered a tomato soup and wraps. Wraps were decent and tomato soup is extremely salty. Salad that came with it is light and delicious. Service is just ok. It's just one person who is working and gets the job done. Highlight is the price and ambiance. It's fantastic to sit outside especially at night. Everything is reasonably priced for a location like this. Use inKind to make it even better. Would go in again with friends and try some other items. read more

Tucked away in the bottom of the condos you'll find this quiet little bar / restaurant that we weren't sure what to expect, but we ended up having a great time talking with the bartender Ashley, sipping on our cocktails and enjoying our lunch. It was a little too cold to sit outside on the patio, but I can see this place packed when the weather is cool enough during the springtime weather to hang out and enjoy drinks with friends. read more

We were so excited to try this spot. Unfortunately, it was nothing but disappointing. I don't usually leave reviews, but this establishment is atrocious. First of all, the quesadilla on the menu says it comes with a choice of chicken, beef, pork, or something else. It says nothing about an additional charge, but I was charged $4. I don't even care about the $4, but that's just bad business. Additionally, the quesadilla was dry, cracked, and brittle. I've had a better quesadilla from a gas station. We barely touched it, because it was barely edible. Server never came to check on how the food tasted either. Next, I got the Chicken BLTA. The chicken was rubbery and unflavored, and the bread was literally hard? I had the server take it off, and I had to go up and ask because (once again) she never checked. My partner got a pepperoni flatbread and that was the only edible thing here, although it was soggy and the dough was bland. Lastly, they advertise espresso, but when my boyfriend tried to order one, the server said they didn't do espresso, despite the fact that there was literally an espresso machine right behind the bar. Absolute waste of money and time; save yourself the effort, and go literally anywhere else. read more

My realtor friend Jennifer Wilson introduced me to this cool little place. It is definitely a hidden gem worthy of a detour. It's w special places you can go where eventually, "everyone knows your name." I have been here twice now and last night was outstanding as was the first. The bar tender learned my favorites and he made me the best Bloody Mary ever. We ordered a variety of dishes including a huge $6 'burger' night, taco plate, salad and buffalo pizza that were all fantastic!!! The location of this place is a little complicated to find as it is inside the condos. The outside seating is nice though especially in this weather. For a Thursday night, there was not a lot of people at one time but it was extremely slow service with only one waitress servicing the whole place (which is not that big). We mainly just ordered drinks but it took like 20-30 mins in between each order to receive it. We just ordered a couple of appetizers so I cannot speak too much on food but the cocktails were okay. read more

We had lunch catered from here. I had the Parisian sandwich. If you like bread it's not bad because that's all it is....bread. There was literally one thin slice of deli ham on it. Everyone that picked it complained. Didn't like the pasta salad but the brownie was very good. That's why it got 2 stars. Wish I had taken a picture. I'm not one to EVER leave a review on yelp unless it's good, but this restaurant really let me and my family down. We came in as a party of 4. Our server at first seemed like a very lovely girl, she was a brunette. We ordered i asked for a refill on my water twice. I'm a server I understand being busy, I kindly ask again if we can have more water, she rolled her eyes and said yes and a snarky attitude. I ordered a simple quesadilla for the price I was at least expecting it to be warm. I told my sever I apologize but it's cold she grabbed it right out of my way WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING!!! Came back a couple minutes later and tasted like a microwave. On top of this FANTASTIC experience our server was sitting in the back rolling silverware while doing other things and being on her phone. The bathrooms were disgusting and after everything we didn't even get an apology. I asked for the manager and she said of course and never came back. What a great find! Seems like a great date spot! My brother who lives in Scottsdale turned me on to this place. It is located in the middle of a beautiful upscale apartment complex in downtown Scottsdale. Due to the hidden location, it is rarely very busy. At one point during our meal we were the only people in the restaurant. Most of the other people who came and went stayed at the bar to watch sports games on the tvs. We went on a Wednesday and ordered a variety of starters as our dinner since it was happy hour. We got the Met Wrap, meatballs, hummus platter and pork street tacos. The only entree we got was the chop salad. All of the starters were delicious. My favorite were the meatballs and street tacos. The Met wraps were full of chicken with a delicious blend of nuts and fruit. They would have been more than enough for a meal by themselves. The strawberry habenero drink was good, but spicy going down your throat. For the Chopt salad we substituted romaine for the arugula. When they brought it there was too much cheese for us. It felt like eating cheese rather than a salad. The chicken in the salad tastes like canned chicken and was rubbery. There is free Metropolis parking near the restaurant as well as guest parking inside the garage. The outdoor patio nestled within a beautiful garden and fountains is also dog friendly. My girlfriends and I came here for happy hour on Wednesday which lasts all day long. To name a few happy hour specials, there is the $5 Met Burger, $6 select appetizers such as the hummus, lettuce wraps, bruschetta, street tacos, and the margherita pizza. And for drinks: $4 well, house wine, and drafts. Any $8 signature cocktail is $5. I had the Jade honey ginger shrimp rice paired with an Asian coleslaw. It was phenomenal with large scrumptious shrimp and I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day. My coworkers were raving about how good it smelled. Yes, it was still tasty the next day! My friends also enjoyed their caesar salad, chicken salad wrap, and margherita pizza. We had a side order of macaroni, but thought that it was a little on the heavy side.
